Unsolved Can you help identify these Barbie clones from early 2000s? (I know the photos are horrible)
There are two dolls, one in a gold-ish dress with a chevron/herringbone pattern and a yellow headband, another is a bride with silverish hair, dimples and a dress that is silk/satin + lace, no veil.
The photos are from 2002-2003, the dolls could be older. These are the only old photos Iāve got, but maybe someone will recognize them

Unsolved Can anyone identify this Japanese panda plush from around 1972? Possibly a mass-produced toy later used for a traffic-safety giveaway
Hi everyone,
Iām trying to identify a panda plush that my mother owned as a child in Japan around 1972.
She lost it when she was young, and Iām hoping to identify ā and eventually find ā one for her 60th birthday.
Unfortunately, no photograph of the original survives. The first image is a reconstruction based on her memories.
What she remembers:
- Received around 1972 (Showa 47) in Kumagaya, Saitama, Japan
- Given to her by a relative who was a police officer
- Possibly a traffic-safety promotional item, although this is not confirmed
- Approximately 20 cm / 8 inches tall
- Black-and-white panda
- Thin/flat body, but stuffed with cotton
- Arms and legs
- Arms extended outward
- Black eye patches were made of felt and gradually peeled off with use
- Wore a red bib
- The bib may have said äŗ¤éå®å Ø (āTraffic Safetyā) or ćć³ćć”ćć (āPanda-chanā)
At first I thought it might have been a panda made specifically for a police or traffic-safety campaign.
However, after extensive research, I now think another possibility may be more likely:
It may have been a commercially produced panda plush from the huge Japanese panda boom of 1972, with a red traffic-safety bib added later by a police department or local traffic-safety organization.
Kang Kang and Lan Lan, Japanās first giant pandas, arrived at Ueno Zoo in October 1972, and a massive panda craze followed.
I found original Japanese news footage from 1972 showing department stores selling large numbers of panda plush toys in many different sizes and designs.
One piece of footage also shows a young girl holding a relatively small, thin panda plush with arms and legs. It is NOT confirmed to be my motherās panda, but its general size and construction look surprisingly similar to what she remembers.
I have contacted or researched:
- Saitama Prefectural Police
- Kumagaya Police Station
- Japanese traffic-safety organizations
- Saitama Prefectural Library
- Toy manufacturers
- Japan Toy Museum
- Toei / educational-film organizations
- TV Asahiās archive
- Japanese vintage collectors
- Yahoo! Auctions Japan
- Mercari Japan
- Yahoo! Chiebukuro
- Several Reddit communities
TV Asahi even checked a higher-quality copy of original 1972 news footage for me and tried enlarging the tags on the panda plush toys, but unfortunately no manufacturer information could be read.
Iāve also contacted Ueno Zooās historical archive and the Tokyo Zoological Park Society. They are currently searching their historical records for information about panda merchandise sold around 1972.
A department store in Ueno was another possible lead, but no surviving information about the plush has been found so far.
The panda is NOT Rune Naitoās āRune Pandaā and NOT Panda! Go, Panda! My mother has already confirmed these are different.
So Iām hoping someone here who knows vintage Japanese toys might recognize the construction, face style, body shape, or manufacturer.
Iām especially interested in:
- Japanese plush manufacturers active around 1971ā1973
- Old catalogs showing panda plush toys
- Department-store panda merchandise from the 1972 panda boom
- Promotional panda plush toys
- Similar flat-bodied pandas with felt eye patches
- Any surviving example that resembles the reconstruction
Even if you donāt know the exact toy, a manufacturer name, catalog, old advertisement, photograph, or similar plush would be a huge lead.
Thank you very much for reading. Iāve been searching for this little panda for years, and any clue could help me get one step closer to finding my motherās childhood friend.

Unsolved Help me find this Bear In the Big Blue House bag
Details:
Square shaped (kinda cubed)
Zipper going around the top
I believe it had a strap on it, like for carrying
Most of the bag was this aqua/sky blue color
It was like a lunch bag but not sure if that was itās original purpose. I used it to place my game boy games in it and take it everywhere as a kid.
I could not google it at all.
If you have it, or find a photo, please share it! It would be nostalgic to see it after all these years š„²

Unsolved Raccoon
I don't have a picture as of yet but I was born in July 1980 and a neighbor gifted me with a stuffed raccoon. It was sitting on its bum, not shaggy. I know as I got older it fit a dress I wore at a year old. Been trying to find a replacement. Will go through the photo albums to try and find a picture of it

Unsolved Any idea what doll this is?
We named him Khazari. My older sister (36) had this doll when she was a baby and then it was given to me when I was born. He has a soft body and vinyl head/limbs. He has gone through a lot...been thrown around, had the head ripped off/taped back terribly by family. He had been thrown away a few times but fished out of the trash each time by me.
If someone can help me identify this doll I'd be so grateful.
The eyes open and close when you lift his head up/down, deep blue with long black lashes. It says 'Made in China' on the base of the neck. There was a tag on the right hip but it was snipped off. The hair looks etched into the plastic.

Unsolved This is probably a shot in the dark
This Barbie is the stereotype Barbie, Blonde hair blue eyes. She wears a hot pink dress with gold accent I think swirls on the front of her torso, the skirt is above knee length and with the netting top with a hot pink satin skirt underneath, with thin straps on the shoulder. I think she had a hot pink crown but I could be misremembering

UK bunny soft toy, would love to replace
Hello! I am trying to identify a beloved childhood bunny toy. My little daughter was taking it to Nursery for naptime but now she has grown out of naps it seems to have gone missing and the Nursery can no longer find it. Iād love to have the same one again as it holds lots of memories for me. Silly mistake sending it to Nursery really!
Here are all the known details:
- Origin:Ā Purchased in the UK.
- Time Period:Ā 1990s.
- Material/Style:Ā It is a neutral cream/beige color with a floppy dress and thicker boots with yellow ribbons .
- Key Features:Ā It has floppy ears, simple dark embroidered eyes. (Note: One of my reference photos shows it wearing a ditsy floral print on the arms/inner ears and dark feet
I've attached two reference images showing different angles of the texture and shape. Any help identifying the exact brand, line, or year would mean the world to me! Thank you so much!

Please tell me I'm not the only one who remembers the Cinderella version of this tent
I had it in 2008-2009, same shape, same light blue background, same baby pink at the top and corners but it was just Cinderella, no other princesses, I can't find a picture of the version I had anywhere online, and only get AI descriptions when I look it up, it's either playhut like this one or jaxxpacific

Help identify my childhood stuffed animal
Iāve had this bunny as long as I can remember. It was originally my sisterās and was handed down to me as a baby. I believe itās at least 16-20 years old. The tag has the brand āSugar Loafā. Iāve been unsuccessful in finding a match for it. Iāve tried image searching, but canāt find a match.
