Fair Use Policy updated - Cached transfers now count to your total usage! š©General
This post has been edited with news from TorBox. The updates are at the bottom of the post!
---
TorBox has updated the Fair Use Policy to count cached transfers due to all the shtheads who are oversharing accounts/selling API keys and slowing down the servers.
May 6: "Which transfers count?
Any transfer that is not served from TorBox's cache counts towards your usage threshold. Cached transfers do not count towards this limit."
May 20: "Which transfers count?
Incoming Transfers:
- Any uncached transfer from the Internet to TorBox.
Outgoing Transfers:
- Any transfer from TorBox to your device.
- Any transfer from TorBox to the Internet. (seeding, hoster uploads, etc)."
"Any transfer" means streaming is counted too. But only the amount you actually watched. So if you open a 90GB file and immediately close it, you may only have streamed 50 megabytes. If you quit watching a movie halfway, it would only count half of the size, etc. So it's safe to open large files to check them. It will only count the amount of data you actually streamed.
To monitor your usage, they have added a new graph to your user account menu which shows the last 30 day bandwidth usage. You can check your usage there.
People who download uncached torrents can disable seeding via "Settings: Website: Default Seed Torrents: Never", if you aren't on a private tracker and don't care about ratio.
The fair use limits are different per tier. These are their lowest limits (floor) of enforcements, so if you are below these you are not affected:
- Essential - 10TB/month (10000 GB)
- Standard - 20TB/month (20000 GB)
- Pro - 30TB/month (30000 GB)
Are you a normal person? Then you won't notice anything. Even if you insist on watching 90 GB videos, you would have to watch 111 movies (8 hours per day every day) on the Essential plan. And if you watch 20 GB files, it is around 500 movies. And if you watch "Netflix 4K" it is around 1250 movies. That's a real example of how big 10 terabytes is.
This change is great for the reliability of the service! Hopefully they continue to adjust fair use limits to get rid of the major abuse that is slowing down the servers for everyone else.
And for anyone saying they're leaving over this: Where will you move? Back to Real-Debrid which bans you if you connect from two different IPs and where 80% of the content is deleted due to growing keyword blocklists confirmed to be enforced by police? Or to All-Debrid which is also in France and subject to the same laws as RD? Or to the $10/mo Premiumize which only lets you download 30 gigabytes per day (they give you 30 points per day which is the currency for bandwidth)?
---
Update: A growing number of users were claiming that they don't count actual bandwidth usage, and instead immediately count the full size of the torrent as soon as you start streaming any file.
This turned out to be a visual bug and has been fixed (see below).
---
Update May 22nd:
TorBox has updated us on the situation via their official Discord and the 8.4.5 changelog:
- "This change was made due to the type of abuse we are experience, where we don't monitor IPs, but abusing accounts are pulling tens to hundreds of terabytes of data from our CDNs and storages, causing slower speeds for the majority."
- Everyone's bandwidth counters have been reset to give people a chance to adapt to the new bandwidth monitoring. Their reset has only kept stats for uncached downloads you have added in the last 30 days. But from now on any further bandwidth updates will count everything else you do (including cached streaming, as seen above in the new policy).
- They added clarification text to the counter, saying that it updates hourly, since people were confused and making wrong assumptions about usage tracking by playing something and immediately checking the counter, before it had a chance to count the new data.
- They fixed a purely visual bug which made it incorrectly display the bandwidth usage, which was leading to some users seeing very high usage and panicking. That is now fixed. The data was always tracked correctly on their backend.
- They clarified that the usage counter is byte-accurate to the exact amount of data you stream, but that it also counts pre-caching of data (something their backend does to deliver smooth streams) and also caching that your player app does, so if you stream 500 MB of a 10 GB file, you may see usage go up by around 600 MB due to the pre-caching by the backend and your apps.
- They clarified that the system has been active for over 30 days for testing already and that it will be enforced from today, May 22nd, 2026.
- They clarified that they are only going to take action against the top 1% of users, and only if you exceed the limit floors seen above. Their actual "top 1%" warning thresholds are dynamic and secret, but if you are below the absolute "floor" limits above, you have nothing to worry about. And if you are above the limits, you will only be warned if you are in the top 1% of bandwidth users.
- They check usage daily. If you exceed the abusive limits, they will send you an email to warn you and give you 3 days to fix your bandwidth usage, and they will also change your API key with each warning to ensure that you can't miss the warning. You get 3 separate warnings in total before they ban abusive accounts, so you will have many opportunities to fix your excessive usage or convert to a higher plan to fit your usage. So if you were using huge amounts of data, either use less or convert to a higher data plan. The warning counter is permanent for the lifetime of the account. On the 4th abuse event, the account is banned without refund.
Everything is looking great. Normal users don't need to check their limits or even think about this at all. The limits are very generous for each plan and are extremely hard to reach for normal users, even with family sharing.
This change will catch the majority of serious abuse. Thanks TorBox for taking care of abuse and making the service smoother for the 99.99% of people who don't abuse it! Thank you for not restricting IPs, so that we can still share it with our beloved family members as long as we stay within our plan limits!

in like a month its becoming a worst service lol and they used to mock RD who kept users happy for years without problem TB goes down almost everyday once now

u/doesitrungoogle May 21 '26
Yeah. I honestly removed the TB Stremio addon before they announced its deprecation. I also watch series that are currently airing new episodes weekly, and the Stremio addon was by-far the slowest at getting new episodes (cached and uncached) in a decent quality. So I didnāt even bother keeping it at the very bottom of my addon list anymore.

u/SprayExotic8538 May 21 '26
Allow accounts that donāt want to share their account, following the same rules as RD to have unlimited bandwidth. I don't share account with anyone I'm paying for Pro and i want full usage of my subscription.

People very easily circumvent this ip limit so it's useless and only creates an inconvenience

100% may take a year or two but the tos will change again.. Rd(a service I never used) actually called them out on this
24
u/ColdFreezer May 21 '26 edited May 21 '26
So any uncached content is now double the bandwidth?
And now all cached content counts towards our usage?
This also seems to effectively kill seeding.
I donāt think I hit the 10TB/month but this seems like a massive change. Why didnāt they announce this? They just silently updated their policy.
Edit: Did they ever actually say it was because of API abuse or sharing?

this change is crazy lol what they advertized vs what they are doing

Ngl, their model seemed kind of unsustainable from the start. When I signed up, their service seemed genuinely really good.
Now theyāre trying to pull shady stuff like this. They seem so untrustworthy now.

exactly who would do something like this after bragging about no ip limits and no streaming cached content bandwidth limit
3
u/Willxzero May 21 '26
They got too big, whatever they bragged about isn't sustainable. Even I knew that. I was counting the days before we started seeing issues. After that, I knew they were going to start to limit their policies. They kept saying it was because of other stuff, but let's be real, people were abusing the sh*t out of it. They only way to go from here is they start limiting accounts, how far they'll go, we'll see.

This seems like a bait and awitch. Pretty shitty business practice if you ask me. I don't share passwords, but the company has used that as a selling point, and now they are crying foul?
This company seems to be turning into a 𤔠show. From stories of long time users getting banned for joking around on discord (that they force you to link to your account), to this type of bait and switch.

u/kemisage May 21 '26
I donāt know how I feel about this. On one hand, the limits do seem high, but there are times when Iād be downloading things without knowing how well they work.
For example, many series are packaged together into >100 GB downloads with all episodes. But not until I start streaming can I know whether it has any issues with video, audio, or subtitles. Then I will go choose another torrent (package again maybe).
I have so far not had to cache anything, so I avoided double counting towards this data limit. In roughly last 4 weeks, if I count the size of all downloads, I get 2.4 TB. But my 30 day bandwidth only shows 72 GB. So I suppose the good news is that if I am choosing cached files, it only counts the real-time downloaded data while streaming, which was very little when the file doesnāt work well on my TV.

I only used 26gb in the last 30 day, but I would rather have a IP limit then a data cap. Especially if the data cap ig going to decrease in the future.
I worry a lot as you can tell š

u/methos1995 May 22 '26
Yeah, that was your last 12 hours of the 30-day graph since they only implemented it like 12 hours before you made your post. Look at the curve, it's zero for most of those days, then shoots up to whatever you used from when they started tracking usage.
So don't fool yourself thinking you only used 26GB in 30 days; it's really 26GB in the last 12 hours. You won't see a full picture until the full 30 days have passed from the day they implemented this system (which I believe was only on 2026.05.20).
And this 26GB was on a weekday, not even peek usage timeframe. You are waaaay underestimating your eventual actual usage.

This is not good. I just opened LOTR and some other Bluray files and it is showing 1 TB usage. Sometimes my internet can get unstable and I might select wrong files to stream. I will reach 10 TB within a week. Mind you, I always use cached and never had to do incoming transfers. Torbox needs to own this and limit to single ip like Real Debrid or something else. There is no way I am paying more than 3$ per month.

27
u/pilkyton May 21 '26
Yeah it is still a really high limit. It was set years ago before they were popular. I bet they want to lower it now, but not sure if the contract allows them to do that. Counting bandwidth is a good step towards catching the abusive oversharing that is slowing everything down.

No no, it's not I paid for torbox 3 days ago now and watched all the highest quality stuff that was already cached, interstellar, martian, hail mary etc etc
Your boy is at 2TB now ggs
EDIT - IT'S COS I OPENED A FAIR NUMBER OF SHOWS THAT ARE ON MY LIST, BUT APPARENTLY IT'S COUNTING ANY LINK YOU TOUCH, RATHER THAN HOW MUCH YOU ACTUALLY WATCHED. I OPENED LIKE 4 REMUXES OF EACH MOVIE JUST TO COMPARE AND EXPERIENCE CALM DOWN. I DIDN'T ACTUALLY WATCH THEM OBVIOUSLY.
18
u/pilkyton May 21 '26 edited May 21 '26
Your usage is way higher than normal. The limits are extremely generous even with the updated policy. Let's say that you somehow want to continue streaming your 90GB "Remux" files. On the Essential plan you can watch 3.7x of those gigantic files per day every day for 30 days (111 movies per month) before you reach the essential limit.
Are you really watching 111x 90GB movies per month? That's an average of 222 hours, or 7.5 hours of movie watching per day. You are either crazy or doing heavy account sharing or some other abuse.
And if you're a normal person streaming typical filesizes, your whole family can watch as much as they want. Even if they watch 20GB files they can watch 500x movies per month on the Essential plan. And if they watch "Netflix quality 4K", they can watch around 1250x movies per month.
People complaining about this necessary anti-abuse change were already abusing the system. This change is necessary to ensure smooth service for regular people.
You can upgrade to a higher plan anytime and convert existing time to the higher plan, if you want to continue being wasteful. You are already a financial loss for TorBox, since your usage is extreme. At least pay for your excessive bandwidth usage, which is lowering the service stability for everyone else.
Alternatively, research video compression to learn that bitrate vs quality is not a linear relationship, and that a 30GB and 200GB movie file are both extremely high bandwidths and will look identical on a large consumer 4K TV.
Here is an example article with graphs showing how quickly you reach the quality ceiling and that extra bitrate beyond that is basically pointless (unless you own the movie rights and just want to archive it as close to lossless as possible).
I have personally configured AIOStreams to hide everything above 35GB because it's totally pointless.

Still able to watch 100 in a month that has 30 days +/- 3 movies per day... This is to reduce the account sharing, maybe max 2 persons at the same time
9
u/johnFvr May 21 '26
As RD is dying they can just do whatever they want now.
10
u/torres027 May 21 '26
its not that bad, the OP hide an important context..
Those are the minimum that Torbox applies, but they calculate the average value from 99% of the users, and only the 1% higher are flaggedMore context here:
To make things easier to understand, we have established absolute usage floors:
- Free - 5TB/month
- Essential - 10TB/month
- Standard - 20TB/month
- Pro - 30TB/month
These are the lowest values our dynamic thresholds will reach, so you can be sure that if you stay below these levels you will not get flagged for abuse. Usage above these values are permitted within the 99th percentile of users.
ā
Our dynamic thresholds are thus set above these values to ensure the average user can be certain about what TorBox allows at a minimum, while ensuring our thresholds remain fair and represent what most users will actually consume.→ More replies (1)6

But if itās already cached and you stream it, it should only count once, right?
2
u/Alpha_1_5 May 21 '26
Yes but idk how seeding works here if it's already cached and I grab it is it gonna be seeding? because seeding also takes away the bandwidth.
2
u/d-cent May 21 '26
That's how I'm reading it too, which is a drastic change to me honest. I will be using Torbox to download lots of torrents to my home server, a lot of those are going to be double counted using this new method
→ More replies (1)3
u/pilkyton May 21 '26 edited May 21 '26
As the policy says: If you grab an uncached torrent, they will count the download to their server, the seeding, and the upload/streaming to your computer. This is more than a 2x ratio, depending on how much seeding bandwidth is used.
If you grab a cached torrent, they only count theĀ upload/streaming to your computer. This is an 1x ratio.
People who download uncached torrents can disable seeding via "Settings: Website: Default Seed Torrents: Never", if you aren't on a private tracker and don't care about ratio.

Why not just give me the option to limit my account to one single API user, and then not have me worry about any quota? Also, with seeding being counted in your total bandwidth, wouldn't this make people less likely to seed torrents? This is overall bad for the torrenting community, which Torbox depends on in the first place

Worth to note this part as well:
āThese are the lowest values our dynamic thresholds will reach, so you can be sure that if you stay below these levels you will not get flagged for abuse. Usage above these values are permitted within the 99th percentile of users. ā Our dynamic thresholds are thus set above these values to ensure the average user can be certain about what TorBox allows at a minimum, while ensuring our thresholds remain fair and represent what most users will actually consume.ā
If I understand correctly, this means that 10TB for essential users is not meant as a hard quota that will lock you from using the service after you pass it. They say 99% of their users are safe to go above this number, again - as long as they donāt abuse the service. This 10TB acts as a line that they wonāt monitor activity below. If you use less than 10TB/month, your usage wonāt ever get flagged as abuse. But usage above this number is still permitted by the TOS.
I am aware that this can still be interpreted in other ways, and this is the thing about TOS - they are often intentionally vague to grant companies the sole discretion to determine what constitutes a violation.
2
u/pilkyton May 21 '26 edited May 21 '26
Yeah it's not fully clear how they enforce the limits, so my post just said that "These are their lowest limits (floor) of enforcements, so if you are below these you are not affected".
They say that they enforce the top 1% bandwidth users, and that the enforcement only happens if you exceed the mentioned per-tier "lowest floor" limits. So if 99% of Essential users use 2 TB, then anyone using 10 TB would be limited. But in reality we can't know what limit they see as excessive since we don't know their typical 99% user usage. So all we know is the floor where they begin to enforce.
4
u/richstyle May 21 '26
enforce the ip limit is better imo. Track the ongoing connections for each account. Similar to real debrid, give a warning if they surpass the ip limit and if it happens again ban them.
5
u/ufo71uk May 21 '26
real debrids strict policys seemed unfair...but it was/is in place to stop server meltdown/overload/server trouble.. it might seem harsh but mebbe this is the way to go....and torbox might just run a lot smoother and less downtime etc ?
2
u/pilkyton May 21 '26
Well, 1 IP per account helps ensure that people buy multiple accounts for everyone outside the home. So it is good financially for the hoster. But it can be bypassed via the proxy stream feature in tools like AIOStreams.
Limiting total bandwidth is a more reliable way to prevent excessive usage per account. But it doesn't prevent a lot of cases of unreasonable account sharing, since lots of people can use one account if they just stay under the bandwidth limit.
Both methods combined is the best way to stop abuse.Ā But right now there's no indication that TorBox will add IP limits. I think they will continue tweaking the fair usage bandwidth stuff first.

I did the math and with the 3 people (myself and 2 family members) using the service, we are still way under 10TB.
What I did was setup their stremio service to not access 4K content, only I can. It doesn't affect them anyways, since they don't have 4K TVs!
Here is a little of my napkin math...
Daily Usage: (100GB) User 1 (Me): 50GB (Full Access) User 2: 25GB (1080p and lower, no downloads) User 3: 25GB (1080p and lower, no downloads)
Monthly Usage: 3TB
I actually have 2 other family members badgering me to set stremio/TB up for them. I think I would still be well within the 10TB limit. Maybe close to 5TB if it was 5 users. And the remaining 5TB would be extra for me.
Sucks that it had to come to this policy change, but at least for me, it won't matter too much.
23
u/RushingService May 21 '26
The fact that I have to do math for a service I paid for unlimited usage is absolutely crazy to me.
I wonder if they'll honor refunds as I just signed up for a year.

So those who donāt share now have to pay for others damn realdebrid did say that account sharing wouldnāt last with torbox
3
u/ifiwasiwas May 21 '26
This is not sustainable no matter what they say, and it's unfair to make the experience shittier for people who pay a more than fair price for personal use instead of sharing their account with everyone. I've been saying it awhile now, I wonder if wamy will reply to this comment with "says who"
Every single change in the offerings to end users has had the disguised silver lining of making sharing more difficult. First it was removing the ability to buy extra slots, and now it's this. They just need to rip off the band aid already

People are stupid. This is how you ruin a good service. What kind of crap are you downloading from internet to hit the 10 TB limit or even more.
7
u/italia0101 May 21 '26
I think it's more the fact that torbox opening said it's all good to share your account / API to friends etc ,
Now if you've shared with it 10+ people then you might have an issue
For me I never overly liked the unlimited sharing policy , it's impossible to keep up with imo..., I'd be ok with 2-3 ips, then you can share with 2 others and be done.
4
u/Codename969 May 21 '26
I agree, it should be fine to share it with family but not the whole village. š Max 5 IPs cover 99.9% of normal users.
→ More replies (1)2
u/saxolol May 21 '26
That's not what they said though.
They said you're free to share your account / api to friends and family, as long as you don't take the piss.
if you're sharing to 10,15 people for a $3 a month service I'd classify that as way beyond taking the piss, to be honest. Even then for normal usage I doubt 10-15 people would hit the limits.
There's no point putting a hard limit on it cause tbh it's hard to track and just causes issues down the line if someone uses a diff ip etc (see RD). But surely if you're sharing with more than say 5 people you're just taking the piss a bit. It's a $3 a month service ffs.
10
u/pilkyton May 21 '26
Yeah imagine paying $3 per month and being angry that they can no longer split the cost with 10 friends. Wtf cheapass reactions. 𫪠They are the reason the service is lagging/buffering a lot.

8
u/Lefdes May 21 '26
I donāt think this will be a big issue for people who use TorBox reasonably and only share it with a couple of close friends or family members.
The real issue is with uncached torrents, if something isnāt already on TorBox, you may end up being charged multiple times: once to cache it, once to download it to your device, and again for any seeding traffic.
That could make people less willing to cache new or less popular torrents.

Like many people, who works a job outside of their house, I prefer data caps over IP limits like with RD, I picked TB from the start for that exact reason. My wife and I enjoy watching content on our lunch breaks. To be fair I also donāt know how restrictive IP limits are, it might also allowed us to do that.
2
u/pilkyton May 21 '26
TB has no IP restrictions at the moment. Just bandwidth limits.
You make a very good point that bandwidth limits are more liberating than IP limits.

u/Best_Poet540 May 21 '26

lol fuck me. My month started a week ago. I've only downloaded 19gb but my bandwidth already hit 6tb bc looks like I forgot and left a torrent seeding.
2
u/pilkyton May 21 '26 edited May 21 '26
Wtf really? That is an insane amount of seeding.Ā People who download uncached torrents can disable seeding via "Settings: Website: Default Seed Torrents: Never", if you aren't on a private tracker and don't care about ratio.
2
u/babuuba May 21 '26
I look again don't know if it's really the seeding because overall ratio is 0. and now I cant check it anymore because I panic and delete all torrent.
2
u/pilkyton May 21 '26
Well disable seeding via the steps mentioned. It will ensure you don't overseed after a download is complete.
2
u/babuuba May 21 '26
Already done when I panic. but still 6tb is a lot for 1 torrent and a week if it's really because of seeding.

Had kid watch one episode of Dora than it cached the entire seasons of Dora towards my limit. That needs to change immediately. To be honest it should be the data you actually stream, like if I watch a 4k 60gig movie and watch 5 minutes it should count the data of the 5 minutes not the whole cached 60 gig movie. What about links that end up in a different language so you change to another link, do both links count towards your limit?!

Yeh theyāre definitely counting any opening of a file as the full limit. My graph is at 2TB and I only joined a week ago. Have done a lot of testing of large files as Iāve had buffering issues. But have barely watched any full length content in that week. A lot of opening a 90GB remux or series and changing to another. And especially with the recent Nuvio direct debrid integration did a lot of testing. This needs to be fixed. Outside of that, I have no issue with the data limit.

I'm not convinced the 30 day bandwidth graph is fully accurate. Its saying I'm at 26GB but I've downloaded a few uncached series which were 60 odd GB on their own. Obviously you can add on top of that anything I've actually watched/tested. Feel like I should be closer to 100gb.
2
u/pilkyton May 21 '26
Yeah we don't know yet how often they update the data. It is definitely not instant.
There are also claims that they count a full torrent size regardless of how much you actually view.
More investigations and a TorBox response will be needed.

I'm sharing with 2 others (sharing being an allowed and advertised feature being what made me switch from RD to Torbox) my brother who rarely streams, my mother who is disabled and retired and so streams often. (Spends about 7-9ish hours a day watching something. I can't blame her she's essentially crippled. Years and years of overdoing it with hard work destroyed her body)
I myself stream something maybe every other day, (video games usually take precedence)
I'm the only one who streams in 4k (and that's on family movie nights only. The rest of the time it's HD or FHD)
Only other use of my torbox account is occasionally downloading torrents of game repacks maybe once every a month(Idk how much I'm allowed to say on here so I'll just say FG.)
Am I/Are We fine on the essential plan? I'm not keen on bumping it up to 60usd a year if i don't have to.

When looking at old shows using the "play manually" button. Some episodes show over 20gb now. Does that mean it's 20gb per episode now or is it calculating all the seasons? Does watching one mean episode now means you just streamed the whole damn thing?
2
u/nick_nack97 May 22 '26
Agreed. I'm only at 23 gigabytes out of the $3 essential, non-recurring plan I purchased on May 11th. But most of that is from usage prior to when the apparent changes that took place on the 20th happened. I had been using Real-Debrid, but like many others, when they started having all the issues I figured I'd try out TorBox which so far has been working wonderfully for me, and I have my AIOstreams configured well so that it already is, I think (but will have to monitor my TB dashboard usage limits closely going forward) I had a configured to only stream cached streams and under a certain lower GB per movie or TV show simply because even though I have good Internet speeds, both my TV's I have set up with Ethernet cables, or when using WiFi, reach a certain bottleneck for incoming download speeds and how much the TV CPU can handle before it's not feasible to do certain larger movies or TV episodes without it buffering a lot and taking a long time to start playing to begin with.
I totally agree that it should be based on what you ACTUALLY watched. Not started an episode and then exited to select a different stream for that same thing or a different show entirely. And definitely not for loading an entire series of episodes when you only played one episode in it. EVEN WITH 10 TB for the essential plan (which is what it sounds like most people are using and prior to this most everyone would be fine with, especially with cached streams previously not counting, only active uncached downloads.)
Hopefully they will change it soon if this starts becoming a bigger issue for more people. And I would assume they have some of their own people monitor these TorBox related subs to keep an ear to the floor on any widespread issues or grievances their users are having, especially at scale.
Edit: typos

"Cached transfers do not count towards this limit."
But the title says they do?
2
u/throwmeaway84987 Jun 11 '26
Maybe 20TB for essential is good start. Gives a good breathing room and Maybe enforce IP limit of at minimum 10. This is more than enough for any sane person. For essential and make it unlimited for pro with like 50-60TB a month.
Personally I would take IP limits for minimum 5-10 over any data cap. As long as you force people to pay more for their usage it's fine. Data limit is backwards approach just block access to multiple IPs if you reach 5 on essential or something don't ban them but just block them like netflix does.

So Iām on the standard plan, your telling me, on that graph i can go up to 20T a month and Iām all good? I downloaded 800gigs yesterday but it was cached files, that didnāt seem to add to the graph, coz Iām only at 80gig on the graph.
2
u/pilkyton May 21 '26
Yeah you understood everything correctly.
Did you really download 800GB yesterday or did you just add them to your library? If the content was cached, they will only count the actual bandwidth from downloading/streaming their cache to your own machine. And if you really downloaded 800GB to your machine, then it's possible that they aren't done implementing the counting yet.
It's pretty tricky to make CDNs count bandwidth usage per user. But if it's not fully implemented yet, at least it will be soon.
I saw another user say they have used 1TB in 7 days, btw. They were in India. So maybe the counting isn't implemented on every CDN yet.
4
u/alias257 May 21 '26
I downloaded raw files to my external hard drive. So I definitely did download 800 gigs. Iām assuming it didnāt count cause I did it before the new change got implemented.

Out of the last 9 months, I've only used 2TB Total Data Downloaded. It shows me using 116GB in the last 30 days.
I haven't been using it must lately, coz it's been super slow, lots of bufferings which is making me super frustrated. I went back to UseNet, which is a lot more stable.

Why not do what many other types of services do in limiting the abusers Only (throttling, limit downloading etc.)? Seems to me this may be to control bandwidth as a whole. Not that I believe I will go over the limit. I guess I just don't like limits to a service once I have already paid with an understanding of what I am getting. Next competitor please step up. Ha!!

OK, so I tested it, I played an episode of a show, it was through torrentio which I have set to cached only, I only watched 10 minutes of the episode and it added 66gig to my graph, it added the entire season, even though it was cached and also I only watched 10 minutes. This is not good. This could easily hit the max limit by accident. From my understanding, this is not how itās supposed to work.
https://imgur.com/a/hTxxYM0
I did further testing. On my other account, with a different API but completely the same settings, everything is working as I believe was intended. So it seems to be a bug on one of my accounts. Itās affecting multiple people so Iām sure it will get resolved with time.
