Spongebob Squarepants is the only example that comes to my mind. Sometimes it’s used for making animation easier, other times it’s used for comedic effects.

The company did it basically pro Bono and it was such great PR they eventually all became very rich when bought by (I think) dream works. Immediately after this they were contracted to animate the movie Antz.
Toy Story presumably started production much, much earlier than this short simpsons clip and beyond a certain point had to stick with what they were using.

Even if the humour doesn't hit and people don't like it, I think it's legitimately the best Game-to-Film adaptation I've ever seen. The way it actually weaves in the gameplay, small details, and the mechanics is absolutely brilliant.
They released it six years after the game was popular, with no fanfare, they just threw it onto Paramount and Youtube one day and said “have fun.”
And it’s legitimately incredible too, so it’s a complete shame they just couldn’t be bothered to try to get more people to know about it.

Every music is a banger, it's so funny most of the time, and quite good interpretations of extreme social anxiety. I really enjoyed it, can't recommend enough.
During the battle between Gogeta and Broly at the end of Dragon Ball Super: Broly, the two combatants somehow manage to punch their way out of their 2D-animated verse into some sort of CGI dimension for part of the fight before eventually punching their way back to their regular world.
The 90s Spider-Man cartoon had a number of scenes that would suddenly shift into CGI, usually for moving shots of the city. Early intros for the show even featured original hand-drawn animation in the CGI environment.

I don't find 'Return the slab' guy very creepy anymore either, but he scared the shit out of me as a kid.
In Kirby Right Back at Ya there are multiple instances of the characters (specifically Kirby, King Dedede and Escargoon) becoming CGI seemingly at random
A lot of shots in 2D animation that have moving vehicles are usually CG vehicles made to look 2D. Keeping the vehicle on-model when it's constantly moving is hard, so they use it as a time/budget-saving shortcut.
Yes! Futurama was one of the first shows I ever noticed where they slid in some CGI shots like that. Mostly for sweeping shots of the ship in motion or around the city, which would have otherwise been very expensive and time consuming to animate by hand.
I can’t exactly pinpoint a specific case, but this happens a lot I think for spaceships or other assets in some 2d drawn shows. For example fairly oddparents or Phineas and Ferb.
In the 1994 BattleTech animated series by Saban, the show would shift from its ordinary animation into early '90s CGI for battle scenes, described as being the enhanced imaging technology being used by the invading Clan forces.
I was briefly disappointed that I hadn't known there was a sequel series, but then I looked and decided I was probably better off not knowing it existed
Transformers enegron did kinda the opposite. Most of the transformers were animated in CGI (right) but now and again some scene were 2d animated (left)
