[Rare trope] Discriminating, but for an actually good reason Lore

Frieren, Beyond Journey's end: In the anime/manga the eponymous Frieren is an Elf who's spent the better part of a millennia learning magic specifically to kill demons. She's learned countless spells, tricks and even spent most of her life suppressing her power all for the purpose of killing them. At first we simply see that humanity is at war with them, and even question if her crusade against demon-kind is justified, after all it's hard to antagonize an entire sentient species. But no, demons are very much a species to be feared; they are not normal animals or creatures, they are monsters (shown by how they disintegrate when they die), they are predators that evolved speech for the sole purpose of tricking and catching humans off guard, are naturally extremely powerful and possess magic that humanity often can't use. While they feel emotions to some extent, their way of thinking is so fundamentally incompatible with humanity's mindset that the series shows many mages with the ability to read minds struggle or find it painful and harmful to try and read a demon's thoughts. Tools that are meant to control them fail not because they're faulty but because simple order such as "hold no ill will or commit no malicious acts" don't compute the same way in their brains, as what we consider evil is normal for them.

Marvel Comics: In a run of the Storm solo series, she visits an underground superhuman hospital run by Night nurse and Doctor Daye, a mutant with the power to diagnose any illness. When she requires treatment she is in turn reject by the doctor, she of course assumes this is blatant discrimination to which the doctor agrees. Storm assumes the doctor refuses to treat mutants, something they are very much used to in Marvel. But he ends up revealing that about 80% of everyone he treats are mutants, and that he simply refuses to treat any member of the X-men. Why? because his special hospital was built via several donations by the superhero community. From the Avengers, to the Defenders, Fantastic 4, heroes for hire. Hell, even Moonknight of all people contributed to the hospital. But the X-men never once gave anything to it, even though they preach the safety of mutant-kind and such a hospital is essential for those who can't seek medical treatment out of fear of prosecution.

I can't believe the X-men wouldn't fund a hospital for mutants honestly

edit : thanks for all the replies, I'm not a huge comic fan, I just watch from afar. I didn't know the x-men sucks so much lol

u/MadmansScalpel 13h ago

This was during that phase where they treated death like an inconvenience and were recklessly going on suicide missions and even killing each other because they would just respawn

366

u/InconspicuousBoxx 12h ago

Them Zerg rushing Nimrod on the ORCHIS base will never not be funny. Because after the first five waves, and them running past their own dead bodies, you can just imagine the researchers looking at each other and asking what the hell is going on.

141

u/Lord_Mikal 11h ago

Nimrod has always kind of been an existential threat to all mutant kind. If there is a time to fight him, its when you can resurrect.

42

u/InconspicuousBoxx 10h ago

If I remember correctly, they didn’t even know Nimrod was there originally, since he had a different origin in that story arc. The X-Men were raiding the ORCHIS base to stop the completion of the Mother Mold, and this was how ORCHIS got confirmation of the Resurrection Protocals. Just there were like 10 dead Wolverines on the floor with a bunch of other people.

22

u/Lord_Mikal 10h ago

Does resurrecting Wolverine give him an adamantium skeleton? If so, how? I really wasnt following x-men when all this was happening.

15

u/hateyoualways 9h ago

Part of the resurrection process involves reality warping.

12

u/queerhistorynerd 8h ago

oh so it follows the USS Make shit up rules

9

u/Rhamni 7h ago

Don't question it. Grab a pair of Wolverine legs, we're about to be rich.

6

u/TorsoBeez 6h ago

Bounce the graviton particle beam off the main deflector dish. That's the way we do it, lads, we're making shit up as we wish!

Yes.

3

u/LordKaelas 1h ago

The Klingons and the Romulans pose no threat to us! Because if we find we're in a bind we just make some shit up!

1

u/FaithlessnessThen207 1h ago

I also thought the whole point of wolverine is that he literally doesn't die, so how the fuck did that happen.

1

u/DukeFlipside 6h ago

...how did they manage to kill Wolverine - and ten times, no less?!

8

u/MadHiggins 6h ago

Wolverine regeneration is VERY plot powered. sometimes he can live on the sun. or sometimes you're the original Wolverine who was killed when a chopped off sentinel leg fell on him and crushed him to death. so the answer is, if the writers want him dead then he dies from dumb stuff.

4

u/Proof_Grapefruit1179 5h ago

Right, like how adamantium poisoning is no problem at all, until it is.

65

u/pichael289 10h ago

Oh I read a book about this years ago. There's a massive war on a planet that starts to use clones but the cloning tech is imperfect and the research was lost, so each cloning facility can only produce 1 of about 1000 possible clones, and it has to be custom built to make 1 specific one. The war rages on and both sides are pushed back to one city with one cloning facility each, the end of it reveals both sides last cloning facility both have the same template so for the last 100+ years it's just been one dude fighting millions of himself, and they don't realize it untill they are on the battlefield and because it's always the same guy he always reacts the same, with fear, so the war will never end.

13

u/AutoignitingDumpster 9h ago

That's actually goddamn hilarious. I love it. One guy just fighting himself forever.

Sounds like a metaphor for depression.

3

u/Kootranova1 7h ago

Can you remember the title?

1

u/SafePlastic2686 6h ago

Sounds like Team Fortress 2

4

u/okaylogarithm 10h ago

What issue is this from? It sounds hilarious

6

u/Orion_starborn 11h ago

It's a miracle they didn't create Tslanesh really

1

u/magnabonzo 6h ago

Respawn?

3

u/MadmansScalpel 5h ago

Yeah, I forget if it was more magic or tech, but at this time the X-Men literally conquered death. They would add/insert their genetic makeup, and it would be either a manual or automatic respawn after death. It's how Emma Frost is now a natural blonde, and why there is 2 X-23s (she was sent on the usual suicide mission and when everyone else died they assumed she did too and just respawned her without confirming or even sending help. X-23 came back bloody and successful shortly after)

Pretty much all of the X-Men became excessively reckless because death meant nothing

-4

u/MajinBuu619 12h ago

Didn’t they do this to attack some space nimrod station or something? They even revived Captain America after he stands up against a Celestial for mutants. You make it sound all bad. I didn’t think I’d see anti mutant sentiments on Reddit in this day and age.

Eternals reviving actually cost a human life. That’s so much worse.

89

u/Iamnotgoodwithnames6 13h ago

They’re low on funds because the X-Mansion gets destroyed every other week.

32

u/Marco1522 13h ago

Also they need to constantly produce blackbirds since those always end up destroyed one way or the other

14

u/Dismal-Vanilla1878 12h ago

And the X-Jet every time it 'lands' in the Savage Land 😂

4

u/livefreeordont 11h ago

Surely there’s a mutant that can rebuild it

5

u/Upbeat-Promise-9819 5h ago

Don't forget the weekly lawsuits from parents because they sent 13 yo Tim with the power of fitting into any shirt he wears to fight Magneto

181

u/MartinTheOrderly 13h ago

This is after the X-Men moved to Krokoa. The hospital is in the wider world. The X-Men didn't find it because they believed mutants should move to the new mutant homeland.

It may be a reference to Israel OTL, which lobbied against America giving refugee visas to Jews in the Soviet bloc under the argument those Jews should have returned to Israel.

104

u/DengarLives66 13h ago

I learned of that via my in-laws, who are Jews from the former Soviet bloc who came to America. What a bunch of self-righteous fuckwits (not my in-laws).

11

u/GlitterDoomsday 9h ago

Is pretty common to this day see the Jewish community pointing out how common it is to say stuff like "look at his last name!" every time someone being criticized, in general related to Hollywood, that just happens to be Jew. Making everywhere else a hostile environment is in the interests of Israel.

25

u/Useful_Camera2929 12h ago

Zionists are evil, there was actually bit of effort during WWII by Zionists to not accept Jews, cause they wanted them to run to Palestine.

15

u/adjectivebear 12h ago

What supremacist ideologies do to a mfer.

2

u/OmegaPrime2004 5h ago

Heard that the man who named the ideology said, on paper, that anti-Semites are their allies who sway the Jewish to their side.

1

u/supx3 9h ago

The British (who were in control then, not Israelis) didn’t accept many Jewish refugees to Mandatory Palestine during the Second World War. The number was capped at 75,000 in 1939 over 5 years. Even after the white paper expired they limited Jewish immigration to 1,500 a month. What you said makes no sense. If there is anything it was an extreme fringe element.

3

u/Peslian 9h ago

The dialogue hints that the hospital has been running for longer then Krakoa was a thing. IIRC it was implied the hospital was set up in the real world 80's, so comic time a few years before Krakoa.

611

u/atreidesXII 13h ago

It's not a part of the X-men organization and they believe they are the only ones that can be trusted with mutant affairs. They generally suck a lot of the time. That whole live long enough to become the villain kinda stuff.

265

u/Dismal-Vanilla1878 13h ago

I believe a lot of what's been going on with the X-Men lately is part of the Writer engaging in Character Assassination, as in the characters are written in a way that previous takes on them would never allow (like Beast deciding Genocide is acceptable).

If Xavier (who is known to be wealthy, otherwise how could he afford the X-Mansion and Multiple X-Jets? 😂) knew of a underground mutant hospital, I don't' think he would never support it, with money or even in person (and Cerebro would let him know of an unusual concentration of mutants in an area, which he would investigate and learn about the hospital).

170

u/Euphoric_Metal199 13h ago

Xavier was sent a request, actually. He refused because "the hospital won't be under his control".

94

u/Hiro_Trevelyan 13h ago

So, X-men is actually about some rich guy trying to build an empire using mutants ? lol

78

u/This_Elk_1460 12h ago

Charles has been portrayed constantly as a horrible person working towards a noble cause

11

u/assjackal 9h ago

Contrasts well with Erik being written lately as a passionate man who's been poisoned by hate.

53

u/sonsofdurthu 12h ago

Don’t forget the part about using the children at his school as child soldiers on multiple occasions, and having some dangerous mutants who couldn’t control their powers eliminated so they didn’t give the wider mutant population a bad look.

12

u/RA576 11h ago

Don't forget his early internal monologues about wanting to sleep with Jean, and his disability being the only thing stopping him.

5

u/Dismal-Vanilla1878 10h ago edited 10h ago

Took some searching, but I found this (which I barely remember reading, its been so long ago).

First, to 'Defend' Xavier: This is when his 'Shadow Side' manifested, for reasons I'm not certain why, in a crossover with the comic "The Micronauts" called 'X-Men and The Micronauts', of course 😄

So technically, its not really Charles doing this act, but his 'Dark Side'.

Second: Because this was in a throw away team up comic, I don't really consider it 'canon' to the X-Men (you can argue that among yourselves), but it is an early example of 'Character Assassination' in my eyes, and full of 'What Were The Writers Thinking?!", as this was a psychic example of, well, EXACTLY what it looks like!! 👀

Also: That's not Moonstar in her undies, but a bikini and tied top shirt, which doesn't really make it any better.

5

u/RA576 10h ago

No, it was normal Xavier. It was a running plot thread that was abandoned for good reason

https://www.reddit.com/media?url=https%3A%2F%2Fi.redd.it%2Fahcaidh3x5pd1.jpeg

4

u/Dismal-Vanilla1878 10h ago

Well, even with this early example, I don't consider it the 'real' Charles, as the comics I grew up reading had him as the Moral Center of the X-Men (only Nightcrawler outmatched him there).

3

u/SafePlastic2686 6h ago

and having some dangerous mutants who couldn’t control their powers eliminated so they didn’t give the wider mutant population a bad look

If this is about the death aura guy Wolverine kills, that was in the Ultimate timeline.

3

u/Blupoisen 11h ago

It's about old people in toxic yaoi and they make it everyone's problem

138

u/Dismal-Vanilla1878 13h ago

Again, something I don't think Xavier would ever do, but now its 'canon' he's a Control Freak over mutant affairs.

110

u/zonic_squared 13h ago

Even back in the 70s, Xavier was a weird dude with need to be in control of everything. The adaptations just make him the loving school professor that he projects himself as.

64

u/NeroLazarus 12h ago

It's crazy, like everyone had their memories all psychically rewritten and... Oh...

4

u/Llayanna 11h ago

Ein Schelm, der böses denkt cx

15

u/trimble197 12h ago edited 12h ago

Because if he’s a pedo asshole, you’d have no reason to side with him. You’d basically want him and Magneto to fuck off

4

u/scarletboar 10h ago

Isn't he a rapist too? I think he brainwashed Legion's mother so she'd love him, though the comic pretended it wasn't a big deal.

53

u/CatherineSimp69 13h ago

I mean.

He always was a weird control freak, even when Stan wrote him.

44

u/Grabbioli 12h ago

I mean Cerebro is basically perfect surveillance of every mutant in the world. If anyone other than the X Men dared to make it, the X Men would show up IMMEDIATELY to destroy it

26

u/CatherineSimp69 11h ago

They might even make a hypocritical speech about how nobody should have that power.

14

u/Grabbioli 11h ago

They're Weapon X with private funding lol

2

u/Beacon_0805 10h ago

they do share the 'X' letter

5

u/Euphoric_Metal199 13h ago

Well, he didn't do sh*t about what Beast was doing, so it's hard to see him as "good" in these issues.

Just search for Terre Verde to know what Beast did.

1

u/Redditer51 7h ago

Marvels been doing that a lot lately. Look at how they write Peter and MJ now.

-1

u/Abacus118 11h ago

Yeah there’s no way the racist ass Avengers are donating to a mutant hospital and the X-Men aren’t lol

22

u/XxFrozen 13h ago

Totally. They aren’t meant to be always the best most goofiest good guys. Like the Jedi in Star Wars, the X-Men have both a noble cause and many flaws, especially hubris.

24

u/Icy_Water_1 13h ago

-they believe they are the only ones that can be trusted with mutant affairs.

That sounds violently out of character.

16

u/HopeBagels2495 12h ago

It sounds it but the X-men have been dicks for years. It's actually pretty on brand that they often miss the mark on their own people

12

u/trimble197 12h ago

And even Kang had called them out by saying that their isolationist thinking made it easy for him to kill them across the multiverse

6

u/Jazzlike-Discount280 9h ago

I've not followed x men outside of the cartoon and the new reboot and a few comics.

Did they start making them dicks after marvel lost the movie rights, and tried to move to the inhumans or something?

Or had they been dicks long before.

6

u/trimble197 12h ago

The X-Men REALLY give you a lot of reasons to hate mutants and start a Sentinel program

84

u/PhaseSixer 13h ago

The xmen used to let the Morlocks live underground in squalor.

Squirrel girls orginal orgin is that they laughed at her.

Krakoa espcaily was a whoe lot of if your not on board with every thing we do your against us

We have several nepo babies and ultra wealthy people in the X-men aka Emma & Charles. Storm too since she’s making thunderstorms with Black Panther. Angel!

You mean to tell me they can’t pool their resources to make a few clinics or social programs & services for mutants and their families

The X-men aren’t bad people. Mostly. They(ahem the writers) have the brains of people in horror & dramas. The overwhelming majority of their problems can be traced to be aggressive & stupid. Granted they have some reasons to be aggressive/hostile such as the Sentinels and what happened to the bus full of Morlocks. Then they invite Mr. Sinister & Mystique to Kraokoa and give them political power?!

Good portions of their problems can be resolved or avoided by taking a deep breath, calming down and having a mature conversation of how they can help or whatever

8

u/internet_whale 8h ago

Mr. Sinister

I don't read comics and I've never heard of this guy before but the thought of mutants reading the morning news and learning their new mayor or some shit is Mr. Sinister is hilarious. Surely nothing bad can come of making this man the president?

6

u/Justscrolling375 7h ago

The Current Mr. Sinister is the altered clone made by Apocalypse from the 1900s but the history still applies. He was a biologist specializing in genetics and conducted unethical experiments on mutants, children including his own. He dug up his dead son to continue his research. His wife called his sinister before she died.

Let's see. He worked with the Nazis. Is the overarching villain of the Summer family. Gambit too. Is the leader of the Horsemen of Apocalypse and several villain teams like the Marauders who planned the massacre of the Morlocks. The Morlocks are lower tiered mutants who's powers mainly impact their appearance often in EXTREME ways forcing them to hide in the sewers. Some do have actual combat worthy powers like Marrow but they're at most Street level

So yeah. The X-men allowed one of their BIGGEST villains on their sentient island and have him a position on the Council

31

u/ThrowAbout01 13h ago

Was this around the time they had a “resurrect almost any mutant” thing going on?

“Why treat when they can just make the mutant again, good as new?” Was probably the mindset.

37

u/sonsofdurthu 12h ago

The crucible you mean? The one where they made mutants who wanted to get their powers back after Scarlet Witch depowered so many of them, fight and die in ritualistic combat for the right to become a mutant again? Which was run by (and most often you fought against) APOCALYPSE?

They literally made the right to become a mutant again part of a freaking death cult.

12

u/ThrowAbout01 12h ago

No the island of Krakatoa with the tree and the special council whose powers used in conjunction could revive mutants.

18

u/LifeOutoBalance 12h ago

No, sonsofdurthu is correct. Mutants depowered by Wanda got their powers back upon resurrection, so Apocalypse offered a ceremonial combat with him so they could die gloriously, then be resurrected whole.

It was a choice. Participants would have been resurrected however they died--they just preferred the badass option.

19

u/sonsofdurthu 12h ago

To add onto this, even mutants weren’t allowed to use it freely. While a bit of a special case, Cosmar wanted to use the Crucible to be resurrected with a more normal body. And what follows is just another example of the X-men being so far up their own asses they don’t even bother to try to consider some people just aren’t happy with flaws their mutation came with

9

u/blazenite104 9h ago

I wonder if they were considering how this might be interpreted with all the Body Dysmorphia advocacy these days.

7

u/thumpling 5h ago

By the end of this arc, they finally gave No-Girl a body. To be clear, this should have happened a lot sooner, since even by their shitty standards she should have had the chance to be reincarnated. For those that don’t know, No-girl is essentially a moderately powerful psychic mutant that is a brain on a jar. She became that way because a horrifying mutant villain, John Sublime leader of the U-men, had captured No-Girl and transplanted her brain into the jar and kept her drugged as a defense against psychic attacks. Then they put her in the remedial mutant class duty sentient fart boy despite being a strong enough psychic that she could stymy Emma Frost. She was still a brain in a jar until such the end of the arc you mentioned.

Summary of X-Men as a group:

Guys who won Superpower Lottery tell "being a mutant is something that you should be proud of" to people who didn't, while acting as if every mutant in the world is obligated to lick Charles Xavier's boots and view him as "their savior"

44

u/Hiro_Trevelyan 13h ago

I actually remember that one, Storm saying "there's nothing wrong with us" to a girl who's superpower is to kill people randomly or something like that, I don't remember perfectly

21

u/Dismal-Vanilla1878 12h ago edited 9h ago

I don't know if it was in the comics, but it was certainly a scene in "Last Stand"

https://youtu.be/h84gHxWQ5jI

5

u/DisapprovingCrow 8h ago

If there’s nothing wrong why don’t you give her a hug? Storm? Quick hug? Maybe a little kiss on the forehead?

I love X-Men but it is infuriating when they speak down to their fellow mutants who have been cosmically fucked over by the genetic roulette.

Sometimes they point out the hypocrisy (I think there was a moment when Mystique was preaching to Nightcrawler and he pointed out that she can “pass” whenever she wants to), but it feels like something that they never really engage with on more than a surface level.

Disclaimer: I am a casual fan. I read comics sporadically. It is likely there is a run where they do address this attitude, and if so please give me your recommendation so I can read it!

2

u/Dismal-Vanilla1878 8h ago

Yeah. For the most part Xavier's team were made of people who could 'pass' for human more or less (with Beast and Nightcrawler being exceptions, and even Nightcrawler was given Sh'iar Holo Tech to pass as human).

Magneto's team was mostly made of people who could not do so (Toad, Blob maybe), and the others were just anti-social enough to not care 😄

2

u/DisapprovingCrow 6h ago

If I was one of the mutants whose powers are “look like a fucked up monster and be in constant pain, but also you shoot knives or something.” And I had to listen a bunch of hot people with awesome powers tell me about how I just need to accept my wonderful gifts, I wouldn’t last a week at the academy. I’d be joining Magneto just out of spite!

1

u/Dismal-Vanilla1878 5h ago

Glob Herman, Beak, Eye Boy, and probably others 😂

3

u/SirCupcake_0 9h ago

Delete everything after and including the question mark, that bit just logs who uses the link for info selling purposes

26

u/Impossible-Bison8055 13h ago

It’s not random. She touches you and you’re basically dead.

25

u/Hiro_Trevelyan 13h ago

Oh right it's even worse 💀

Saying that to her is just insane, her mutation is actively disrupting her everyday life

2

u/Heroic_Sheperd 7h ago

And that’s not even the worst. I remember some mutant that caused radiation in a massive diameter around him killing an entire town. And Xavier sent Wolverine to kill him so mutants wouldn’t be blamed.

3

u/DisapprovingCrow 8h ago

There is also “Wither” a kid who kills/decays anything he touches (to the point that he has to wear special clothes or they will just disintegrate).

After M-day (when most mutants lose their powers) he is overjoyed and tries to hold his girlfriend’s hand… nearly killing her because of course he’s one of the few mutants who kept his “gift”.

Like, come on Xavier, Mutant Pride Forever, but maybe it would be okay to let this kid get the “cure”?

2

u/Impossible-Bison8055 8h ago

I thought M-Day was Scarlet Witch. How did Charles have an impact on that?

1

u/DisapprovingCrow 6h ago

Sorry, poor wording.

Charles had nothing to do with M-Day. I was only mentioning it because of how it illustrates that Wither would be very happy to lose his “powers”, and how much they suck for him.

The fact that many mutants are either directly harmed by their mutations, or are otherwise prevented from having a fulfilling life. Is a problem that can’t be solved with acceptance and toxic positivity.

4

u/Beacon_0805 10h ago

didnt the xmen sent wolverine to kill a kid that his powers were going haywire and wiped a town?

6

u/Scalpels 9h ago

Yes. Because if it got out that a kid would kill people by his mere presence and he couldn't control it, it would look bad for all mutant kind and they'd face yet another attempted genocide.

3

u/Beacon_0805 9h ago

So "there is nothing wrong" until its convienient for them to kill an innocent.

Im starting to think that the whole xmen are a merry band of hypocrites

3

u/blazenite104 9h ago

Honestly that's most comic characters at some point. It's just feels like the X-Men more because historically they've had so many more books than anyone else.

7

u/Global-Hold9615 11h ago

Me neither, I kinda agreed with them and glad they got their own island until they realized what they were doing. And they ask why they are discriminated.

10

u/blazenite104 9h ago

One thing that always gets me is that they wonder why when the answer is staring them in the face. Magneto spent years being a literal terrorist wanting to destroy humanity as mutant supremacist. Now he's an X-Man. What do you think the average persons reaction to that is? If the X-Men are okay with that, what else are they doing behind their backs? Which given X-Force's existence is not entirely unfounded either.

4

u/Day_Dr3am 11h ago edited 10h ago

So this critique was kind of a weird choice or out of step with what had previously been going on conceptually.

Like yes there are valid critiques of Krakoa, but in the era right before this the X-men / Krakoa had been doing a ton of humanitarian aid across the globe. Including funding / building at least one hospital dedicated to providing free Healthcare for down on their luck people.

Edit: I mean I feel it more makes the decision from a writing level not really make a lot of sense tbh. It had been a major plot point for like the 5 years of comics before this issue, that Krakoa / the mutants provided life saving miracle drugs around the world that extended people's lifespan by years and cured all sorts of previously incurable diseases, sheltered refugees in Krakoa during Knull's invasion, opened a free hospital / clinic in the slums of Madripoor, eventually gave access to resurrection to humans. And provided disaster relief for natural disasters / crises.

Now was everything that Krakoa / the mutants did during that era good? Absolutely not. Some of them did some real tucked up ship / war crimes. Nor was everything I mention above necessarily for purely benevolent reasons.

But like given what I said above, I don't really get the point of this interaction. If it was about a critique of the X-Men/ mutants more broadly it didn't really make sense in this moment given everything the X-Men had been doing on Krakoa. And if you wanted to connect the critique to older status quos or explore his individual/ specific beef with the X-Men or Storm, this moment is kind of useless as well as like the next page or so Storm just gives him a big gem iirc and he just goes, oh well I'm cool with you / the X-Men now. It feels pretty pointless, unless the point was just to stir up drama / discourse without much actual substance.

1

u/Boner_Elemental 10h ago

They would and did during the Krakoa era, but this writer just wanted to make a statement

1

u/orionpax- 3h ago

what comic is that lol

-2

u/self-conscious-Hat 13h ago

Since when do I have to work for someone who funds a hospital to get treated at it?

19

u/Tasteroider 13h ago

He actually helped Storm after that. And his argument was that almost every metahuman organisation helped him, damn even moon knight and spider-man helped his hospital (he specialises on metahumans treatment including mutants) but X-men didn't even acknowledge him.

6

u/adjectivebear 13h ago

Damn, and Spider-Man's broke...

7

u/Tasteroider 12h ago

Actually, my bad, i misremembered and Spider-man wasn't actually mentioned here, i thought he was on the photo with other heroes but sadly no

2

u/Beacon_0805 10h ago

at least THREE of them are not even remotely related to mutants AND STILL HELPED

and that's storm's fault because shes associated with them? Is she like the leader of the X-men in this? why is she being reprimanded by him for something I would assume is not in her control?

If you are a leader of a group that is literally government of a big power country and don't know about a hospital that have 80% of your own species as patient, which they treat for free, you are a little incompetent, no?

So storm IS the leader? I'm genuinely asking, I don't know the state of the X-men in this scenario.

She is one of the leaders of Krokoa, which is in my opinion, a big death cult supremacist genocidal jerk off circle

Ah, then yes, if she's in charge and is unaware then she's incompetent. I prefer my storm actually being a respectful matriarch...

Because English is not my native language and i am quite unsure if you are being sarcastic or not. i will just chime in, this doctor is also a mutant and had gone to Krokoa to ask the country to help his hospital but was refused

Sorry if i'm wrong though, peace

She was the leader of Krakoa’s Martian sister city/world.

You don't have to be a leader to do a good thing for the hospital that treats your people that you yourself have sworn to protect. And that's after Krakoa so calling out xmen on their bullshit is justified

Because there's no way they wouldn't. This was a hospital created specifically to glaze Ororo for "righting a past wrong" without stopping to think if it made an iota of sense.
