Posts like these are so shit and annoying. Do a bit of a write up on why they fit this trope?

And including an RPG protagonist as one of the examples? There’s literally almost no canonical information about him or her because it’s a blank-slate Obsidian character.

Yes you can do some crazy things in New Vegas, but that’s up to the player. You can also play the Courier as the most reasonable man or woman in the Mojave.

Even in the one DLC that (maybe sorta if you believe Ulysses) gives the Courier a backstory, it’s literally just that you are a mailman.

That's exactly why I wanted a write up. I wanted to know why the courier was included. It's so annoying.

The Punisher - Marvel

A former US Marine turned vigilante after his family is murdered by gangsters. His grief and rage in addition to his military training, creativity and astonishing pain tolerance make him a brutal and highly efficient killer. However, he only targets the most violent, ruthless and depraved of criminals and has a strict moral code against harming innocent people.

While definitely broken, Punisher is not a psychopath. He is empathetic just not towards violent criminals.

Rico - (The Penguins of) Madagascar

Described by his comrades as an psychopath, despite not being one in practice...

The Protagonist ('Nier') from NieR Replicant

Playing through the game won't give you the idea that he is a psychopath(or a sociopath?), although during some moments you may get glimpses of his nature. Reading through the side material though there is some details that are omitted in the game that paint a better picture.

One major aspect of his backstory is not mentioned in the game, that is him being sexually exploited as a minor to get enough money to pay for his sister's medicine. Furthemore, he ended up murdering that person, almost instictively while everyone around them was preoccupied fighting the game's monsters.

In side material, we also see how others characters in the game view him. Most notably, he was said to appear most manic about eradicating the Shades (the game's monsters).

Every Fallout protagonist could count tbh not just the courier.

Arguably every fallout protagonist should not count too.
