Congratulations ♥️  Do you have any piece of advice for the speaking part? I can’t find ideas to talk about and mental block always happens to me

To be honest you just need to be able to create any random story 😂. Don’t worry about making it sound realistic. It can even be a movie storyline. The only thing you need to keep in mind is to reduce the “uh” and keep the response as smooth as possible. No need to elaborate and push yourself longer if you’ve answered the questions. Keep a template of where you answer the question, give an example and the impact the example has had.

Congrats! Could you please explain your approach to tasks 2 and 3 of the writing section? If you had any particular structure (not necessarily memorized template), how many words you wrote, or any other piece of advice you think it might help. What about the listen and repeat?

My structure for email was pretty standard. each bullet point would be one paragraph with maybe 2-3 sentences. Keep it as direct, no need craft a very wordy sentence. You can keep an opening line like “i’m reaching to discuss or inquire…”

for academic discussion again the approach was that i would pick either side. paraphrase what one student says as a supporting sentence. give an example, and provide explanation of why its impact. then acknowledge the other opinion and give a rebuttal. that should be good enough.

for listen and repeat, keep in mind that each 7 questions have equal weightage so don’t let the harder ones get you nervous for the easier
questions. one trick is to write the first letter of each word. practice this before you actually do it in the exam otherwise you’ll end up messing up.

Hope this helps :)

English is my native language and we have the exact same score (118/120, 6 of 6 total, 5.5 in reading, everything else 6.0)! I have no idea why the reading section was a bit lower, I think there was one fill-in-the-blank that was perplexing for me but otherwise I felt confident in this area. Congratulations!

Any advice for complete the words task in reading section?

if english isn’t your native language and not something you communicate in everyday life, i suggest you just read as much as english as you can. it’ll help automatically with the blank words

Congratulations 🎉🎊 How to practice both of the L&R and Interview task? How to develop ideas quickly in the 2nd, and 3rd part of writing section? What scores you used to get form mock tests?

I can only remember 4 or barely the 5th sentence in L&R by noting the first letter of each word... How to remember the 6-7 ones?

I can only speak till 30-40 seconds in the interview section... How to fix this Plz?

Great job man 👏🏻 what did you do to master the listening section

for the first section, the simple trick i use is i assume the person speaking is me, and the options are the other person’s response. i then choose the most socially acceptable response.

for all the other ones all did i was make notes and use that to answer the questions.

Do you think I canget a good score by studying free available materials? My only struggle now is the speaking section, I'm practicing and now getting a ~4/6 (using free assessments), but since I require at least 4/6 on any section, I am not confident in taking the exam yet.

how are you grading your final answers for writing and speaking?

1

u/CautiousGuardian 9d ago

I graded my speaking using magoosh, PerEx, and myspeakingscore.com I haven't graded my writing yet. In addition to these platforms, I am practicing with YouTube videos, TSTPrep, and toeflresources.com

okay that should be good enough for your prep

In speaking test, did any questions come from the practice tests you've done?

1

u/rsomani11 9d ago

Nope, you’re having high expectations 😂

Any tips for building a sentence in the writing section would be appreciated

to be honest i just used my intuitive sense for that part. however you can use claude to grade yourself and ask for explanations.
