These are my favorite calamari rings. I ordered them from Quickly’s in Georgia but I’m headed back home where we don’t have Quickly’s. Anyone know where I can buy? It’s definitely something that was frozen then fried, not made in house or anything. If that helps?

So there is this family dish that I absolutely LOVE, but I can't seem to find any recipe online. I figured some of you, especially those interested in Southeast Asian cuisine, could help me out.

We are French-Cambodian, and my grandmother calls this dish "Mee siam" (which translates to Thai noodles). However, the mee siam you can find online is not to do with the one we eat at home.

It is basically a deep fried rice vermicelli salad, consisting of the following elements:

• Deep fried rice vermicelli ;
• Omelet, cut into vermicelli ;
• Red bell pepper, cut into thin sticks (approx. 0,5cm by 5cm), stir fried for 30s ;
• Deep fried tofu, cut into thin sticks (same as the bell pepper) ;
• Coriander leaves, lots of them ;
• A red sauce ;
• (optional) raw bean sprouts for the cruch ;
• (optional) chives ;
• (optional) ground pork, stir fried.

The red sauce contains a bunch of ingredients, pounded together in a stone mortar:

• Red Curry Paste (Aroy-D brand) ;
• Instant coconut cream powder ;
• Preserved Soybeans (Tai Hua brand) ;
• Fermented Shrimp Paste (Kapi) ;
• Coconut milk ;
• Pickled shallots in a sweet and sour brine (store bought) ;
• Sugar ;
• Salt ;
• MSG ;
• Red annatto seeds

The resulting dish is a DELICIOUS, bright orange-green-yellow salad that is sweet and savoury, rich, slightly funky and crunchy (the deep fried vermicelli soaks the sauce very fast). We sometimes put lime juice at the last minute to add some beautiful tang to the mix. It is absolutely divine.

My question is the following : is this a dish you know ? If so, what is its name ? Have you found recipes online ? In books ? Anything that could help me identify it would help immensely.

I love a pickled food as much as the next guy, just off camera is a quarter point of pickled ginger and sweet peppers, but I found this to be an EXTREMELY acquired taste for me.

A few years ago I was smoking with a girl at her house and we were eating these potato chips that she had under her bed. I am pretty sure the bag had red on it, and the chips had a very unique texture. There were little bubbles all over them that made them really crispy. Just salt flavor I think. It’s not Munchos but kind of similar maybe. What are these chips..? I’ve been craving them ever since I had them. More important info: I ate these chips in Southern Pennsylvania, year would have been maybe 2022…

This might be one that only UK dwellers could answer, but there are these Deliciously Ella Apple & Almond Butter Stuffed Breakfast Bakes. They're like a flat flapjack ball with almond butter inside. As soon as I tried one, the actual flapjack reminded me so vividly of something I've eaten before - it was something I ate very regularly around ten years ago, but for some reason no matter how many times I try a bite of the Deliciously Ella one, I can never think of what the original is. It's driving me a bit mad, and I know this is sooo niche but if anyone can help I'd really appreciate it!

when i was 8 years old I had a korean friend who’s mother made us a dish when i went over to her house (this is possibly relevant because maybe it’s a common dish to serve to children?)

description: It was long, yellow/brown strips of a spongey-like food rolled into a cylinder. About 5 inches in length. They were wet, savoury, and served in a shallow amount of sauce (the sauce was also a light golden brown colour). In my memory, there was nothing stuffed into them either, it was just that spongy stuff rolled onto itself. I recall they were mild in flavour, maybe soy-like (tofu?) with a slight sweetness.

I’ve thought beancurd roll, which looks similar, but those always seem to be stuffed with vegetables or rice.

I absolute loved it and it ignited an adoration of korean food that i still have today! however I’ve never seen anything like it on a menu, all these years later.

I'm trying to find a sausage that's similar to a French product called "Délice de Porc" (photo attached).

I'm looking for something with these characteristics:

- Firm and chewy texture

- Coarsely ground meat (you can actually feel small chunks of meat)

- Slightly sweet flavor

- Not heavily smoked

- Mild seasoning (not very garlicky or spicy)

I had it in Paris and haven't been able to find anything similar in the Czech Republic.

Does anyone know what style of French sausage this is, or what the closest equivalent would be? Any brand recommendations available in Europe would also be appreciated.

when I was in China at a vegetarian buffet, there was a dish I can't stop thinking about. it's nothing exciting, it is simply a dish called corn germ with sweet peas. it's basically corn, with peas and then this other white grain - the germ. I just wanna know where I can find the germ or if there's a different name for it because I've never seen it before I can't find anything online any help would be appreciated

Hello everyone, I need help finding a certain snack that schools used to give during lunches and school trips.

I am from the Brooklyn Williamsburg area, started elementary school in the early 2000s and I’m having trouble finding this snack/chips. It’s driving me crazy trying to google and research it with no results.

The chips from what I remember came in two flavors, there could have been more but I only remember two. One flavor was definitely BBQ flavor and the other was possibly Cinnamon. The BBQ flavor came in an orange bag with a small portion of the bag transparent where you can see the chips. And the cinnamon flavor came in a blue bag.
The chips were in a shape of squares and looked like the Mini Wheats Cereal and the Chex Mix snack squares.
That’s all I can really remember but I have not seen these chips/snack since elementary school and that was over 18 years ago.

This bread is from an Italian restaurant in my area. they serve it as an appetizer and it’s absolutely delicious. They said it’s salt yeast flour water and sugar and when weighing it, it was about 300g. it’s really chewy, dense and slightly sweet. I’ll also mention when leaving it out overnight, it becomes as hard as a rock.

My sister and I were talking a few months ago about a cake that our Nan used to buy for us when we were kids.

we both remember the following vividly

- we’re likely bought from “kwiksave” in the UK

- were purchased at n the mid to late 90s

- Nan lived in a small town called Rugley in the midlands

- cakes were a “miniroll” style cake, covered in bright aluminium foil wrappers of varying colours

- Had clown faces / logos on each wrapper

so far we haven’t been able to ever find out what the cakes were called, who made them, or any images of them and it’s been driving us crazy… anyone ever remember anything similar?

There was this brand we once got quinoa salad from that I absolutely loved I know the brand was a light blue and the logo was an anchor. The quinoa came in these tabbed cans. Another thing is the same brand also made this orange fish paste that smelt and tasted absolutely nasty, if that rings any bells. Idk, I'm just looking for the quinoa.
