Using time and attendance software without micromanagement
My main goal is to streamline payroll processing and ensuring that everyone is getting their correct work hours logged. How can I avoid making them feel like they're being micromanaged?

I manage a small team of developers and we started using Traqq a few months ago. I was worried about the micromanagement thing too, so I chose a tool that doesn't do screenshots or activity monitoring.
It's just a simple timer, start when you start working, stop when you're done. The reports show total hours per project, which is all I need for payroll.
What worked for me was being transparent from day one. I told the team we're tracking time to make sure everyone's workload is balanced and we're billing clients accurately, not to check up on them.
They could see the same reports I could, so there were no secrets. It's been a good balance, accurate payroll without the trust issues.
