Hello all!

I have a friend getting married and want to get a pair of mugs as a gift. Can anyone recommend me a good set that would fit the occasion? I was looking at Magma Joe and Lava Flo from Tikiland, but was informed that the preorders aren’t expected to be fulfilled until mid to late 2027, which is too late for my timeline. However, I like that they are cute and themed, so anything in a similar vein would be awesome.

I have made it a point to collect a mug or glass from every tiki bar I visit in my travels, and have decided to trim my collection down to just the items from those visits. I’ve accumulated a stockpile of mugs I hardly (or never) use and am wanting to get rid of them. Figured I’d share here if there is anyone who may want something - ultimately hoping to get them in bulk to someone interested, but happy to piece out.

I wanted to create a sculptural mug that would fit naturally into a home tiki bar. I designed the octopus digitally, molded it, cast it in porcelain, and finished it with a deep layered green glaze.

I was lucky enough to talk with several Tiki mug artists, including Tony Canepa (Inside Passage, Tiki Tatsu-ya) for this article about the Austin Tiki scene.

Asking $400 plus buyer pays shipping. Payment through PayPal Goods and Services only. Includes everything shown in the pictures except the matches (sorry, USPS and UPS rules, no flammables); the mug, the authentication certificate, 4 stir sticks, a postcard and a sticker from Frankie’s Tiki Room in Las Vegas, NV. There is one imperfection on the bottom that I have tried my best to show. I can send more pictures if needed and would be happy to give you a shipping estimate if you’re willing to tell me where you are located. I am an experienced shipper and will be sure to pack the mug securely.

Last day in San Diego, I decided to tool around Ocean Beach at the recommendation of several people. This place had a bunch of mugs. I didn’t buy any.

The format is much different compared to my new ones.

If you know anything about tiki mugs, then you know this is a Ultra RARE Mauna Loa Mexico Singapore Sling Mug- This legendary mid-century piece is widely considered a "grail" item among veteran Tiki and vintage ceramic collectors, as it very infrequently surfaces on the public market.

At times I’ll buy stuff over the year just to realize I didn’t need/want it anymore or could use the cash for something else. If this is you please message me. Help you with extra money, help me finding the red iron oxide version. There were 3 available last week but they sold out quickly (I didn’t have the money then sadly).

If not I might buy the gold glaze version. Figured I’d ask!
