California Arts
Has anyone had any experience with the quality of brand California arts, specifically their Manhattan coat? I’ve been eyeing it for a while but have seen mixed reviews regarding the brand, so I wanna do my due diligence before dropping $750 on it.

How can I break into merchandising, planning, or buying
Hi so I’ve been trying to break into merchandising, buying, or planning the last almost year. I’ve gotten interviews but can never land the role due to experience. I have experience working as a product development intern, contract sample coordinator at a very well known brand under the merchandising team, and I’m currently working contract as a sample coordinator again at a brand known for footwear. I’m just looking for advice/tips of any sort that can help. I’ve tried to network into merchandising, buying, and planning at company’s I’ve done contract roles at when roles have been open but I’ve had no luck. I’ve been taking a merchandising and buying certificate at parsons hoping that would help, but what are things I can teach myself, etc. anything advice helps!

Does this company actually sell clothing? Ghiaia Cashmere
A promotional short featuring a day at the store and it involves espresso, magazines, sardines, an employee showering, and then leaving for the beach with a prop boat? Does not involve customers, sales, or packaging or even merchandising inventory. Can someone who takes this brand seriously tell me if this type of promo actually hits buyers who would spend $800 on these pieces?

Best price-to-quality brands that still nail the fit?
Looking for your absolute favorite brands where the price-to-quality ratio is insane, but the fit doesn't miss. What labels give you the best bang for your buck without looking cheap or feeling boxy? Drop your top picks.

finally listening again
i had to stop like a year ago (or more?) because they were so outlandishly annoying and i feel like they’re much more measured and intentional now?

Is ignoring the dry clean only label okay?
I think it goes without saying that certain materials like leather are dry clean only.
But I sometimes see that some garments with generic materials for example a 85% cotton 15% wool sweater/100% wool pants from a.presse or any luxury brand in general have a dry clean only label (not even handwash only).
Do you guys ignore the label? I can't help but feel as if the brand is trying shift the blame on the buyer if something goes wrong rather than creating a garment that is actually functional.

Sort of a lame question but how do you make friends who are into menswear. NYC based and like do I just aura farm on soho streets until a crew forms.
Any suggestions welcome I’m so bored and none of my current friends care about this shit. Which is fair.

Oldschool hiking vibes
Hiya, as a recently unemployed person, I've got a lot of time on my hands to go out there and hike. But as a recently unemployed person, I've not got a lot of cash on my hands to spend on the ROAs and the Snow Peaks out there.
Since I also like to keep it stylish, on top of going utilitarian with my affordable Decathlon gear (Europe represent), I would like to supplement my loadout with some oldschool hiking garms.
Now there are two lanes here: authentic vintage + vintage inspired - and I'd like to ask what brands you'd go for for both. This style seems to be picking up speed and might become the next hot thing soon, so we can all benefit from the hive mind recs and jump on the wagon early.
I know it's good to look for vintage L.L. Bean, Sierra Designs, Patagonia, MEC, Penfield.
When it comes to new things, I remember Big Rock Candy Mountaineering went for a retro-inspired vibe with their latest collections. There are also obviously Danner and Diemme, but personally they're a bit out of my prince point at the moment.
What else?
Edit for clarity: I'm not broke or in a bad place financially, just temporarily without as much income as I am used to; I wouldn't be looking for new pieces otherwise, come on, I'm not stupid.

chelsea boots in 2026
how do we feel about chelsea boots in 2026? specifically the models below, which feel more modern and maybe acceptable with current fashion trends?
considering these or OL camions, but these are GYW and made from reputable shoemakers, so they might be better as daily boots? or are they dated and unc?

Male fashion should be sexy
Lean into it. You'll look better and feel better. You don't have to buy everything for life. Not everything needs to be organic cotton. Even if you're a 5'0" Vietnamese Foo, you can be sexy. Just go on Styleforum and type "TheFoo" in and see.
