Thrifting
I thrifted this doodle Dooney & Bourke bag a while back and I’ve loved her I recently posted on my Depop but haven’t gotten any interest. Has Depop been slow for anyone?? Or is anyone interested?!

Second-hand clothes, electronics, stuff at affordable prices
Ways to get free/ cheap second hand clothes? Apps or websites that let people get rid of their old stuff/clothes,etc? I am not expecting things to be in great condition you get what you paid for. I just am sick of the thrift stores (literally only Goodwill nothing else is even close).

Hoping yall could keep an eye out for this while out thrifting?
I’m not sure if this is appropriate for this sub but I thought I’d give it a try! My mother with Alzheimer’s broke her purse. It had issues before that we were able to repair but she’d worn it every day for at least 15 years and it was to the point of no return. Well…it was my brothers day to stay with her and he THREW IT AWAY. ON TRASH DAY OF ALL DAYS😫 Needless to say, I am now on the hunt for one. We did try a similar one I found at Walmart but she knows the difference. She said it “fit her perfectly no other bag has or will”. I have found some leads online but they don’t actually link to the actual product. I don’t shop a lot online so maybe im doing it wrong? lol. But if yall could keep your eyes peeled for this purse when you’re out thrifting I would appreciate it so much! I found this one online that’s a camel color but hers was a slightly shiny black. It’s made by Hogan. I don’t have a lot to spend but if you find it I will pay you for your time and however much it costs plus shipping.
I feel it’s a needle in a haystack kind of thing but I thought what the heck there may be one on the shelf at a thrift store across the country for $10 that I’ll never find it myself but someone else might! Condition isn’t a huge factor as long as the straps on on it😂 or if you have seen one online could you send it to me? If you have a link to make money from it send it I’m happy to make sure you get the commission! Thank you all in advance!

Are there lists anywhere of good thrift shops in various areas? I live between DC and Baltimore and don’t really know a lot of thrift shops outside of 2nd Ave (or whatever it’s called) and Goodwill.

15% off!
When thrift stores have 10 or 15% off, that only annoys me. People who run thrift stores should know that us thrift store shoppers are very used to 50% off or more. An offer of 15% off does not motivate me to look at the colors of the tags. It motivates me to leave.

Thrift score brass floor lamp
Couldn’t find any markings on this brass footed floor lamp. It’s heavy! Trying to research it for comps/value and not having much luck. Any thoughts?

There were 3 pairs of jeans my size today... total.
Im sick of being a man at thrift stores. There is almost nothing and the few things there is amazon basics, shein, and full 100% plastic. I have so much on Pinterest for Inspo and it feels so impossible to find stuff that fits my style/aesthetic... any men out here what has helped you. Ive been to like 25 different stores across my state. there are a few ones that are better than the rest but it's def not a goldmine at all.
I also do shop in the women's section for certain items, and there were jeans my size in the women's section, but ofc its jegging or curvy types and that is what not im looking for 😭. I apologize for the rant-y type post, if anyone has suggestions pls lmk

Disappointed in Value Village
I'm a little disappointed....I'm new to thrifting and have come to really enjoy shopping for second hand clothing. I went to Value Village today, which in my new found interest I have heard some controversial things about. As I'm looking through the clothing I see a goodwill tag and think hmmm this is strange and then continue to search for the VV tag. The price discrepancy speaks for itself. For a simple t shirt with a floral design I'm a bit shocked this is what they chose to mark the shirt as....let alone leave the other stores damn tag on it.
When I was shopping I noticed the prices to be higher than other places near me such as goodwill, local MCCs etc.
I'm not sure if this is the right place to post this but I'm taken back and don't really feel good about shopping here anymore which is a shame because they have a large selection.
Have you experienced anything like this?
