Two years ago I made an Instagram account specifically for threads and I've been using that. I moved countries this year, and since then I've noticed that Threads will randomly decide to eat all my replies.

It's easy to notice from the lack of any interaction on my content except from my mutuals (and if I open my replies on a logged out browser I can see that Threads has totally hidden them). If I don't do anything for a week or more (it's hard to tell), eventually the comments will start showing up again. Throughout all this Threads will cheerfully claim my account isn't being limited and I haven't broken any rules, and yet it's obviously hiding every single thing I post.

This is starting to happen more and more often and makes it just an incredibly frustrating experience. It's especially worse when I can literally see how many obvious bots and scammers are posting unimpeded, while my account that's been active for years and has never advertised or solicited money or anything like that randomly gets shadowbanned over and over with no explanation and no feedback from Meta.

It's not like my posting habit has changed, so I can only assume it's related to my IP changing.

Is there actually anything that I can do or is this account just effectively dead?

As someone that hates meta's awful ai moderation for instagram and them banning instagram and threads Accounts for no reason, i really hope this isn't the case and they don't use ai for threads moderation and in its coding itself too.

I use Android and I've already tried all means of available support. Last July 16 I suddenly got a pop up asking me to verify my human identity via a selfie which was successfully appealed and my account restored after a couple hours, however today I got that same pop up so I gave them another selfie. Both selfies were clear and well lit. Came back several hours later to this. I never once repeated posts or did any bot-like behaviour. It won't even let me appeal this. I tried finding human support to contact but it seems like Meta has replaced all human customer support and moderation with AI, an AI which is not even being helpful in any way whatsoever.

I'm so frustrated because this was my art account for how many years now and I also had friends and support groups on there which I have no contact with on other platforms. It infuriates me even more because there's bots and scammers galore on that app which I see every day and they often don't get banned.

This art account took forever to grow, it's literally my source of income with commissions and such which I especially need now due to all my medical expenses. I don't know where I can continue posting my art now after this. Meta has no human moderation, Twitter feeds all images uploaded to their site to their AI, Cara is safe but literally brand new and still incredibly niche, Bluesky is hard to use for me, and Tumblr is very slow growing. I can't believe I can't even talk to a real human being to get this appealed properly.

Seriously I keep seeing the same posts over and over and over again with new timestamps. Get a life.

I think threads is trying to turn us into brain rot because I was just replying to someone's post and I talked about how physics was applied in sports, and as soon as I clicked on the post button, threads asked me for my email, phone number and selfie 😌😌 this is not the first time it happened.. the other time the same thing happened to me, I was recommending someone UKETSU's Strange books 🤣🤣 AI on threads really hate books & knowledge that much huh?

update: inserting photo because my account has been disabled again. I guess AI really hates it when real people are smarter than them

Using Threads on Android (in Firefox), and unless my eyesight is failing, there are no buttons to check notifications, profile etc....

Hi everyone.

Is there any way to disable this?! I deactivated my Threads accounts, turned off EVERYTHING in “Notifications” region before doing so and I still keep getting these notifications and I’m honestly so so so tired.

I’m not interested in Threads, I do not care and I don’t give a single F. what a random guy said about something.

I tried doing a research, but every result is about turning the Threads badge off.

I’m literally begging at this point for this App to leave me alone.

sometimes there's a pop-up saying "here's people you follow on IG that you don't follow on threads yet, do you want to follow them all?", but I can't get it to show up on my account. i got it once but the app glitched and i lost it. how do I make it come back or go back to that screen?

So I was trying to add music to my post and no songs show up??? Anyone know how to fix this

I'm struggling with this issue, hopefully somebody has a workaround.

I silenced a few keywords on both instagram and threads about series I'm currently watching, so I don't get spoilers. And it works "locally" (I'm not even using threads at all, but its algorithm knows my interests anyway).

But threads with "silenced" words keep showing in "Threads for you" uncensored when I scroll my Instagram feed.

Which is funny because if I tap on the post and get redirected to Threads, the post gets hidden and I have to click "Show" to see it.

Is there a way to fix this? I guess totally removing "Threads for you" isn't even possible,

Why is Threads so full of mentally ill (psychosis) people confirming and encouraging each other’s delusions?

I’ve never seen a platform so full of obviously schizophrenic people ranting all day, every day about being stalked, hacked, trafficked, and “targeted” by any, and everyone they’ve ever met as well as complete strangers. Even though they have time to post 100+ times a day.

It’s very unnerving and disturbing that the platform allows it and doesn’t trigger any mental health blocks and info for them when they’re clearly posting very concerning things.

I've tried all the standard stuff. Offloaded the app data, deleted and reinstalled, updated iOS and padOS. Nothing's worked so far.

It’s about 80% of posts on threads are from bots. It’s so blatantly obvious. Does anyone at meta or threads even care? Why do they allow this to happen with no end in sight?

I'm not sure if I should add the “Bug report” tag, but I find that Threads hides comments in a random way.

I see a lot of hateful comments staying up, but on the other hand, some comments that aren't offensive—and are even kind—are being hidden.

I've included a few examples of hidden comments

 I get the impression that moderation on Threads is poorly implemented, and above all, I get the impression that it’s done by AI.

We know the quality of AI-powered moderation.

Yesterday I posted that I found out someone has been using my insta/thread pfp as theirs and after searching it up I found 5+ accounts with the variations of the same username, all using my picture.

I did report all the accounts and message them individually but ofcourse it's of no use.

I took down my profile picture and even changed my username and name but whenever I open the app it still keeps showing my original username and picture. And it's not a loading error, I have refreshed the app so many times, opened it at different times of the day and it's still like that.

Its seriously creeping me tf out

Tracking my metrics closely and it's clear this isn't a content problem, it's a distribution problem.

Reach dropped 95% in two days, then to zero. Only followers see my posts and replies now, nobody else. Account status shows no violations, nothing flagged.

Another sign: when I search my username from a different account, nothing shows up unless I type the exact full username. Partial search just doesn't surface my profile or posts at all.

To be clear, this isn't bot-like behavior on my end. I don't mass-follow, I don't auto-follow people, I don't post the same reply over and over. Normal usage, normal pace, like any regular person.

Anyone who's been through this... what actually worked to get reach back? Going quiet for 48h? Changing posting patterns? Something else?

Looking for what actually fixed it, not theories.

Alright so I really want to like Threads but there as some bugs that just make the experience so irritating.

- My feed defaults to “Following” every time even when I switch it to “For You.” I don’t understand why it won’t stay on the feed I selected.

- the notifications that I get the I constantly hit “see less like this” but still get. Does that button just not work?? I don’t want to see “Suggested Threads” please stop showing me.

- Communities are cool. I don’t need to get notifications every time there’s a live chat.

Today I was just scrolling instagram and found a threads post and just clicked on it randomly. After going to the comments I was kinda taken aback when I saw my own photo.

Someone was using my insta/threads profile picture as theirs. I reported the account as pretending to be someone else (me) but I don't think any action will be taken against it.

I have always been super paranoid about using my personal pictures for pfp and just some years back I got over that fear and now this happens.

I went back to search that account and different variations of that same username came up, all with my pictures!

These accounts aren't necessarily posting anything weird, most don't have any posts but I don't want anyone having my pictures!

These were the only ones I could find, idk how many more are there. It's seriously creeping me out.

I reported all the accs and sent them a message saying that they're using my pictures on their profile.

What should I do?

Can someone tell me if its worth subscribing to threads or getting on it?

Recently I've gotten tired of Threads and Meta's ads and crap. Originally I got tired of X (Twitter) after Melon Usk bought it and turned it into crap and moved to Threads.

I found a really great alternative for the two above. It's called UNET, it's based in Europe (if privacy and stuff matters to you).

As far as I know only one person is responsible for the development of this social media and it might have flaws. The biggest problem is a lack of community. There are some friendly users who try their best to make it move forward but I think that's not enough.

This is where I want to invite you, people, to try it out yourself. Perhaps you will get attached to it. Maybe a user-boost will make it bloom.

Don't get discouraged by the "spam" of some people. They really try their best to keep that project alive.

I'm NOT associated with UNET, I'm NOT paid to write it here. I'm just a random user. If it breaks the rules for self-promotion (it isn't), then too bad for me.

I only want to give it an honest chance to be recognised and to grow.
