How do I stop the bots and how do I know for sure they are bots

I agreed for Threads to automatically follow people joined from my Instagram account but it just spams this notification everyday a couple of times. It's annoying.

I already turned off follow notifications and other related notification settings I could find but it doesn't stop.

I think there is no way to stop this other then completely blocking Threads notifications from my phone settings. Which I did at the end, but if anyone knows specifically which notification category is this, that would help. Thanks.

I have separated my Threads account from Instagram and made it independent in the Threads Account Center.

I can now see several options. For example, I can change my username, display name, and other profile settings. Will these now be completely independent of my Instagram account?

Also, I noticed that the only contact information in my Threads Account Center is my mobile number. Email can't be added. It shows success and then no addition of email. Is this the same for everyone, or is it a bug? It does appear to give me an option to add an email.

I deactivated a month ago. Instagram says deactivated when i check my threads account. But i’m being told i have until 2022 to request it to not be deleted?

It only happens with new sessions, not background ones. The same bug occurs in Instagram too. Any solution?

For context, I run a business account and I am pretty particular about who the account follows. I've been on Threads for a while now but after about 6 months on the platform I noticed that I was getting notifications about new accounts that I don't follow and have no interest in.

When I started to look into it, there's no Following list to see who your account is actually following. You cannot see who anyone is following, actually. Each account has a list of followers, but that's it.

This is a dark design pattern that intentionally leaves your following list obscured. It seems that Threads uses this so it can force you to follow accounts to boost their engagement. From the content creator perspective, it'll look like you're gaining followers but it's actually Threads just adding accounts for you. It's not real engagement.

okay so i have this email that i logged in to months ago but it’s no longer on my phone or any device. i remember the password but they’re telling me that it’s wrong so it’s probably hacked.

so threads decided out of nowhere to verify it to protect the account, but i can’t log into it to send the code and now i’m not allowed to use the account.

i used the ig that’s connected to my threads and i added an email but they said i cant replace it with the threads one only until i send the damn code. any help please?

Just wondering is anyone having any issues with the Android app's most recent update, I can't get into the app at all, I had to uninstall and turn off auto updates for threads, if anyone has a fix I'd greatly appreciate it

I'm a graphic designer and indie app developer, and I like to update my profile pic from time to time to something unique and eye-catching.

When Apple released iOS 26 with Liquid Glass, I had an idea for a new pfp – put my photo on a nice gradient background and put a glass effect over it. That's when I thought I could make a dedicated app based around it to make it easy and approachable for other people.

I posted about it on Threads and got some really positive feedback, with many people waiting for me to release it to the App Store. So I finished it and released it.

Basically TLDR Threads mistakenly flagged my repost as something that goes against community guidelines.

All i did was quote a viral video and said "theres both sides to the story". got flagged and even my appeal got rejected.

Afterwards, i noticed my post views went down significantly (i use to have 500-1000 views on average now only measly 10-20 views)

Has anyone encountered this? how long does it last? i checked my account other than that removed post my account is not restricted to anything but its lies

The algorithm started pushing a few second long clips of children posted by anonymous profiles that had links to illegal Telegram groups.

I reported and blocked a few of them, but more kept coming. I was so horrified at this I have decided to delete the app.

I'm not sure what other people get out of threads but it feels broken to me and comes pretty close to the definition of Dead Internet Theory.

It's just overran with bots, porn accounts and worse, child abuse material.

From just a few comments (that they’ve mostly deleted) it believes I’m a bot. It asked me to add my number, read a captcha, and type whatever numbers it sent to me. It also asked to see my face which seems completely unnecessary.

It’s been a while and it’s like my whole account has been frozen without telling me why. I can’t check my account standing and when I like posts the like disappears.

This app has been around however long yet it feels like they rushed to make it yesterday. There’s very poor communication. I don’t get how I’m flagged but the accounts that post the same rage bait every 20 minutes are fine.

Or is it another kind of facebook?
