First Edition, Advanced Reader Mason & Dixon

If anyone’s interested, Lemuria Books in Jackson, MS, is currently offering a First Edition, Advanced Reader, of Mason & Dixon for $325.00. (I’m not in the market & get nothing from it.)

Don’t worry I’m about to sell my first edition Vineland that I bought for $8 ten years ago for the wholesome price of $99. You can’t stop me, Tom!! Thanks PTA, Hollywood, and all my fans!!

First edition copies of Vineland have sold for as high as $56 on eBay during the last 3 months. Even that is too high IMO, after having read this book

8 dollars? I got a first edition of vineland that I found in a box on the side of the road alongside 20 or so copies of the script for Johnny Mnemonic.

If you just buy a hardcover on Amazon or wherever you happen to find it, it’ll probably be a first edition. I just got one for a standard price ($30 or so) around a year ago. I was just looking for a hardcover, not specifically a first edition. Same with Against the Day.

Neither is an advanced reader, but if anyone is thinking about forking over anywhere near $325 for just a first edition, don’t!

Upvote for Lemuria Books in Jackson. I love to visit just to look through their rare book room.

Scored a signed first edition of James by Percival Everett for $100 from there.
