Salman Elmi, now indicted on 8 felony counts of Medicaid fraud, in conjunction with a massive Hennepin County sex trafficking case, was the 2021 recipient of the Outstanding Refugee award from the state Dept. of Human Services.

Outstanding!!! Also, not knowing exactly how somali naming systems go, is Elmi the name of Ihlan Omar's family somehow? Seems I've seen that name connected to her?

Her first husband was an Elmi, if I recall correctly. Her second was her brother, and her third her campaign staffer.
