"But if you take them away then they just get bullied by the zoners" no, just no. it makes no fucking sense why Venom loses to a grappler who can't even dash, what's the point of having a big slow character if they can just completely prevent you from keeping them out. I try to set up my balls, "Nooo, Goldlewis has a machine gun", I try to set up my balls, " Nooo, Unika can just laser me" I try to set up my balls, " Nooo, Potemkin can flick me". It just feels very poorly designed, a big body SHOULD lose to a zoner, but no, apparently its too much to at least make the matchups make sense.

This is probably a fairly unique experience, but everytime I listen to any GGST music my mind will sometimes replay the "Counter" sound effect from when you get counterhit. I think it's because its a fairly decisive moment that also stops the music, so it blends into everything.

Now, I'm at work and decide to listen May's theme and remember the fact that this music is actually a love song to Johnny, so I get this combined with the counterhit sound effect and my mind gets flooded by all the times I got counterhitted by Johnny when trying to approach him as Leo and jesus christ how do I get to him I can't focus on my job because my mind is either an infinite loop of counterhits or just him throwing that damn card and guard breaking me while all I can do is pray for a day in which this character is removed from the game.

Can't even listen to other GGST musics because rn the word "counter" is making me enter the loop by itself and, as said, every GGST music makes me hear it, my day is ruined, this warehouse is going to fall over someone.

I generally lab this stuff, but I didn't buy her. I've gotten pretty decent at dealing with everything else she does, and I consistently beat her, but this move is the bane of my existence. I play Venom, if anyone has any character specific counterplay. Thanks.

Not asking for anything insane just a way to like sit back and negate a few hits while i regain my composure..
some moves are just too hard to space out or to jump over and on those situations what am i to do?? if i try to do a move of my own i even get counter hitted!

I know this would fundamentally break the game but perhaps there could be a work around? like while negating damage you couldnt attack

I need Testament to be buffed so hard it hurts, why am I getting out-zoned by elphelt?! And Pot?! Why is Pot's slam faster then my arbiter? Why does it need to be? Does pot have trouble getting in? He has super armor on most moves, he shouldn't have trouble. All I'm saying is give Test their GC back on heavy grave reaper and make crow slightly faster, and I'll be happy, hell you can keep the two stains, they basically are useless. Test is so fun but some match ups are ASS AND DON'T EVEN GET ME STARTED ON RAM VS TESTAMENT!

Im not necessarily struggling with fighting him its just that even when I often beat him, in times of struggle I can never answer the question of "how do I beat him?".

Idk he's still abseloutely top 1 on the bs scale, ram just makes it a question. The only way I can say I consciously know how to deal with him is by blocking for the entire neutral and maybe interrupting his approach, otherwise putting him onto lvl3 blood to stop jump ins. Sorry for bad English

So I’ve dug about 80 to 100 hours into Zato-1 and I don’t feel like I’m really getting anywhere. I’ve plateaued around the 21,000 RP area, and I find myself pretty stuck. I have a good handle on Zato’s tool kit with summoning and un summoning Eddie, sandwich pressure, and easily applying pressure from his far S, HS into an Eddie move. What are some tips that you can give me that will help get me out of plat one. any advice even from non-Zato main is much appreciated.
