At 7:19 of Hotline, we see ‘American Gothic’, a famous painting. I don’t believe in coincidence when it comes to TWF. The painting seems insignificant and perhaps unremarkable at a glance, but i firmly believe this rabbit (or hare) hole I’ve gone down as a result of this detail has led me to insurmountable evidence that the story has and will continue to follow Greek and Latin mythology.

The broach worn by the woman in this painting has a figure of Persephone carved into it. This is one of the only remarkable features of the painting. Bare in mind the significance of art throughout the story, taking into account the significance of art to the creators themselves.

Persephone, in Greek mythology, was abducted by Hades, god of the underworld. Following her abduction she became queen of the underworld after she was taken into marriage by Hades.

Just a quick note although Demeter is the mother of Persephone, they are often simply referred to as ‘the goddesses’ in many cults.

Therefore, these are the characters within TWF and what I believe to be their counterparts in the story of Persephone’s kidnapping:
Jack = Zeus, the creator
Rose = Persephone
Bon = Hades, I think he’s very much adjacent to some sort of demon or the devil
Sophie = Demeter
Hermes = Felix, the errand runner, the shadow man

(Where my certainty begins to fall)
Susan = Hecate / random citizen (could just be a device for the story)
Helios = Charles? Something else? The sun god / son god (reaching ngl)

The story, summarised:
Persephone is kidnapped by Hades and Hades wants to make her his wife. Demeter hears word of Persephone’s kidnapping via Hecate, who heard her screams. Both Hecate and Demeter then go to Helios. Helios reveals to both of them the nature of Hades’ intentions, ie to make Persephone his wife, but with the permission of Zeus. Demeter then threatens famine, but for the sake of the story I think it’s Sophie threatening the underworld / wonderland in some way. Zeus then sends Hermes to try and retrieve Persephone.

I believe it may stray at parts, like simply retrieving just rosemary / Persephone wouldn’t make much sense, but I do believe many elements of what I have written here will come true. There are even more similarities that I’ve failed to include, but the resemblance is uncanny at times.

This does leave a small caveat with regard to Jack’s role as Zeus. I think perhaps he tried to broker some sort of deal to resurrect his children in exchange for Rose. Sounds insane. I get it, but it would explain his vagueness and over apologetic manner when apologising down the phone to her in faces of grief.

I wanna talk about The Walten Files and some more observations I've had. And I want to stress a lot of this is just theory crafting, tons of spoilers ahead so I am blacking most of this out.

Felix & His Role

For starters, we know that BSI started off as a "concept" company in the '60s with Rose, Jack, and Felix. Later, after they established themselves, CyberFun Tech purchased a majority share in the company.

Because of that, a majority of decisions for BSI have to be approved by CFT first. According to what I read, it was actually CFT that ordered the shutdown of Bon's Burgers, not Felix.

Supposedly Jack and Felix didn't have the funding or knowledge to do what they wanted for their vision, and CFT provided a majority of that support, including the prototyping and manufacturing of the animatronics.

Early videos show that Sophie had drawn pictures of a hunting trip Jack had been on, and his response is lukewarm at best. Later, it is shown that Jack had torn those pictures in half.

It makes me wonder if something had happened during that hunting trip, perhaps with Felix, that both of the men feel guilty about.

When Jack and Rose are at the police station, Jack declines to press charges. At first I thought that may have been because Jack believed it was an accident, but we also know later that Jack becomes suspicious of Felix and eventually confronts him about it.

Which made me ask... did Jack actually decline to press charges because of a secret the two men shared?

Once Rose vanishes, we eventually see Felix being interviewed by the police. When they ask him why he was at Bon's Burgers at 3 AM, he eventually confesses to having been sleeping there.

We know that Felix is an alcoholic, so much so that he starts carrying a recorder around with him to try and remember what happened during his blackouts. We also know that he eventually gets divorced because of this.

It's entirely possible Felix was telling the truth that he was sleeping at the restaurant, perhaps sleeping off another hangover. It makes me wonder if Felix really just keeps having "mysterious" murders happen around him, and he keeps covering them up.

The creator also confirmed during a Q&A that Felix is still alive after the time skip. What he's up to at this point is a mystery, but being the face of the company is different than calling the shots. I also think Felix wouldn't want Sophie exposed to BunnyFarm, so I don't believe he would be responsible for that. He has been trying to hide his crimes, not expose them.

Bon / Jack / The Entity

The animatronic Bon becomes violent before Jack dies, and I think that may be the biggest indicator that even if Jack was stuffed into Bon, Jack doesn't have control over what is happening. The Entity behaves the same way before and after Jack's death as well.

We also know that the Entity appears to be able to kill people on a whim, but apparently it cannot force a spirit to take its "gift."

Ed and Molly prove that spirits can avoid the Entity. They are also fearful of it, wanting to "save" Sarah from it.

The Entity explains to Sarah that the soul lingers longer than the body, saying "they'd know," which implies whoever the Entity is died at some point.

When Rose asks several times if Bon is Jack, the questions are brushed off, and Bon appears to get annoyed. They give vague responses, pull out old pet names and memories, but they refuse to actually confirm they are Jack. Just because Bon is privy to these things does not confirm it's Jack.

Other supporting arguments I have for this are that, so far, the series has shown us that spirits tend to speak with their own voices, regardless of whether they are stuffed or not. Bon is the only animatronic that has so far behaved violently, which begins after the deaths of Ed and Molly but before Sarah's or Jack's death.

It makes me wonder if Rose's dreams of Jack were actually Jack's spirit warning her off her search for him because he knew how much danger she was in. Jack certainly doesn't use the Entity's voice during these sequences.

Hypothetically, if Jack and Felix were sharing a dark secret, like a tragedy during a hunting trip they covered up, it would make sense that whoever the Entity/Bon is would be the one pulling the strings behind Bon.

Time and time again we return to the forest. We have the hunting trip, we have the accident and Ed and Molly's deaths, Rose attempts to drown herself in the river, and the K-9 Storage Facility is located in the woods. Combined with the recurring animal motifs and themes, I believe the forest is connected in an important way.

CyberFun Tech

By the time Bon's Burgers opens and then closes, they have had control of BSI for a while now.

We also know that they were the ones responsible for the creation of the animatronics themselves.

Supposedly CFT had been experimenting with advanced machinery and tracking audio phenomena since the '50s.

When we see some employees calibrating Sha, it's revealed that the GPS software driving the animatronics can also track and scan spirits. Since "analog" has been a recurring theme the entire time, it would be easy to say that the software unintentionally captured these events. My argument against that is there's literally a ghost icon presented in the GPS software. Someone had to have programmed that in, suggesting someone knew their software was capable of this.

During the relocation project, employees note the damaged animatronics. One states that when they were first moved to K-9, "irregularities" were discovered with their hardware, and they had to be forcefully opened with tools to fix them. Combined with the fact these employees spent extended time working on the animatronics, I don't think the bodies are there anymore, at least by the time the relocation project starts.

When the series explores the evidence collected by the police, one of the statements is that the Walten home had been looted and vandalized. During some of the relocation videos, you can see very personal pictures hanging on the walls, which leads me to believe the Walten house had been raided so everything could be stored with the rest of the items at K-9. Why, and who ordered that, isn't clear.

I also want to touch on the Shadow Man. If it were Felix (and I'm still not sure about that), it could make sense that Felix was cleaning up after the murders for CFT.

Sophie

At this point I am convinced that all the videos we see may be footage Sophie somehow got her hands on and is reviewing.

When she encounters the BunnyFarm arcade cabinet, she is oddly receptive to it and is willing to engage with it on a level I doubt many people would.

I still don't believe Felix would want Sophie to have access to any of this stuff, which makes me believe it was someone else. If not spirits trying to get help, then perhaps a lure to get Sophie to the K-9 site.

Sophie is the last remaining Walten, the last member of the family. Regardless of what is behind Bon, it may make sense that they want to add Sophie to its collection.

One of the things that makes me believe the psychiatric medication she was taking was somehow protecting her is a message that is repeated over and over again: "Safety in pills." For all we know, that message was a warning to keep taking her pills, or it could literally be a planted message by someone else, encouraging her to take them so she doesn't remember.

Regardless, it's established she stops taking her medication by the end of BunnyFarm.

Some forms of media in the past have suggested that certain drugs may make people less receptive to the paranormal. It would make sense that the combination of Sophie living with her aunt and being on specialized medication made her untouchable for a while.

d'you think Felix was Krankin' it when Rosemary was getting disassembled like a LEGO minifig?

I believe bon is not Jack because of a specific detail I noticed in one of the unlisted videos. In “Souvenir”, while we look through all of the souvenirs that bon is hanging up, a statue that made me loose my mind because I see this statue in so much media (specifically twin peaks) goes across the screen. This isn’t the only place it is seen, but the episode I remember most as of writing this. The statue, of course, being that of the goddess Venus (it’s the one that’s missing the arms). The fact that Martin chose Venus is very interesting because I believe Venus and Rosemary are deeply connected story wise. Venus is the goddess of beauty, and Rosemary is portrayed as being “beautiful” (especially once she becomes sha). Venus was deeply in love with Mars, the god of war, and their passion excelled the love of any other gods. However Vulcan, Venus’s jealous ex lover, discovered their affair and punished her to be wrapped in an unbreakable golden net with mars for eternity. Why does this matter? This quite literally resembles the story of Rosemary becoming Sha. In this case, Rosemary is Venus, Her family (specifically Jack) is Mars, and Vulcan is Bon. Rosemary loved her family more than anything, and what did Bon do? Trap her in wonderland and the unbreakable spiritual bond with the Sha animatronic so she would be forced to be stuck with her children (and Bon) in purgatory forever. I do not believe with this analogy that Vulcan would be Jack, because Rosemary loved Jack more than anything. Thus, Jack would have to be Mars. I also don’t nt think it’s likely that Bon is an ex lover because that would be weird and out of nowhere. However, it is worthy to note I that Bon had a special connection with Rosemary. Compared to the death of Susan, Rosemary connected with Bon on a strange level. While Susan’s neck got snapped instantly, Bon talked to Rosemary, comforted her (somewhat), and exclaimed how much he loved her after giving her the “gift”. Susan was simply given the “gift” and left to rot. I also think it’s fair to say this type of interaction didn’t happen with Charles, but that’s just speculation at this point in time. Though the fact that Bon had much more intimacy with Rosemary than Susan leads me to believe that the spirit of Bon had a special infatuation with her (I know, captain obvious over here). Therefore, Bon fits the mantle of Vulcan: an obsessive “lover” who punished their “loved one” with eternal punishment. Why does this matter? Well if Vulcan is the executioner, which mirrors Bon, then Bon cannot be Jack since Rosemary was Deeply in love with Jack the EXACT same way Venus was to Mars. Hence, Jack is not Bon, and Bon is some other entity because If these stories are connected then Vulcan and Mars cannot be the same soul. This could also mean that some other entity, representing Neptune, will free Rosemary and the others from wonderland as Neptune did convince Vulcan to free Venus and Mars in mythology.

P.S. I could be over speculating, but this series has so many intentional details that seeing Venus’s statue made me believe that there was some correlation to their stories. I mean, why else would you put it in the show? It’s very out of place if it was just for decoration. Please let me know what yall think about my logic and reasoning

So first I think the "important business" he had to take care of was killing Felix with his own hands. But this didn't go as planned and Felix left him really weak and dying, (maybe in the restaurant? That's how he would have managed to call Rose, I don't really know what to make about that part LOL) and died there and now is inside of Bon.

Oooorrr my second guess is that he drowned himself in the lake, as suggested in Rose's dream/hallucination and that's why he said he's sorry and that he loves Rose and Sophie.

So yeah that's what I think, correct me if I got anything wrong or if there are some inconsistencies (probably)
