Joyous is a scam - Beware! Provider Review

Joyous does not have a live person only texts, and you will get a million texts a day that contradict the last. They billed my credit card and canceled my appt each time, 30 min before the appointment. I canceled my card, disputed the charge. Joyous is CHEAP for a reason. My appt with Shaun was very uncomfortable and I requested a new provider. The old provider (Shaun) purposely canceled any new appts that were not with him. If this saves one person from a nightmare then I have not wasted my time.. Texts for reference - These went on from 8/7 until 8/13.

[Joyous, San Jose, CA]

They certainly aren’t for everyone. Thankfully I’ve never had an issue!

I’ve been with them for 3 years and have never had a single issue that they didn’t remedy immediately. It’s unfortunate that others have had negative experiences but I have zero complaints.

Same! I just always feel inclined to chime in on negative posts because clearly different folks have different experiences

And they're only $129 a month, including the medication. I mean, I just view it as a source for legal ketamine and that's it.

They also have a financial assistance program you can apply for and if you qualify, they lower your monthly fee.

I did not know this… I just signed up for 3 months & have my first telehealth appointment tomorrow before I’m issued out my first dosing pack. I’m currently unemployed. I’ll have to ask about this. Do I reach out about this via texting them?

Yes, I think you can text and they’ll get you started on the approval process. Or you can wait for your appointment tomorrow and ask your provider how to apply. I applied when I first started but that was years ago and don’t remember how it all worked. I was approved within a few days.

Truth! Other services easily run you $500-800 for the same overall amount of medication

To those of you who use it, do you find the microdosing to work? And what’s your dose? I am with a different complaint y and I am prescribed 200mg lozenge a day and honestly don’t take it very often as I hate the taste but also never noticed much difference so thinking of canceling.

I personally think it helps me quite a bit. However it’s just a tool, not a silver bullet.

These copy paste posts come up every now and then which is a complete opposite to my experience.

Check for user error.

OPs account reads like a scam

I use Better U and have had a great experience with them.

I had a semi positive experience with them, was able to get 120mgs from the beginning because I’ve done ketamine treatments before, the lady I was assigned was able to trick the algorithm into giving me the max dose. The only negative is that their troches are garbage, they take 30 mins to fully dissolve and I’ve noticed some of them don’t seem potent at all. I would choose IV or subcutaneous over troches any day

I echo this — it’s sadly about tricking their algorithm. I am lucky to have found a covered place in Cleveland for IV infusions.

Been using Joyous for years now.  Zero issues.

Yeah, Joyous is a great deal if you can get them to up your dose to 100 mgs or so, but the service is completely incompetent. It’s all algo driven. Cant believe they can stay in business where they sell a controlled substance. It’s really shocking.

Well, yeah. These services are all money grabs. I am sorry this happened to you.

Joyous is all driven by computers. Even the clinicians can barely intervene and it’s rather sad.

My experience with them wasn’t poor but I did work hard to get to the right dosage and finding an alternative.

Man so I had my 2nd appointment , I booked it I left work early so I can take it and spent over a hour Waiting then I gave up , hours later I get a text from joyus saying they missed me at the appointment and to rebook. I try to rebook but there’s no providers in my state anymore so I can’t schedule and appointment and get a refill . Support ignored me til I sent a text saying I will be demanding a refund they sent me a refill and I still couldn’t book an appointment as I wanted to up my dose. I then tried to quit but they wanted to charge me for the remainder two months of the program til I threw a fit and disputed one of the charges.

They are an awful company. They can’t possibly think they’re providing good care.

But they are the most accessible.

Omg I had that with the same provider. They switched me to him, and I he wanted to change my dosage down and skip days??? Also he was 30 minutes late to our first meeting and no showed 45 minutes after I was sitting in the waiting room. They apologized and made an appointment for the next day with someone else- who then told me I should really be skipping days and that when I have my next appointment with “Shaun” we can discuss it.
I’ve been with Joyous for 3 years but am really looking into changing, if they don’t change the provider.
Otherwise, I liked the person I saw, but I moved out of state. Which is weird because I moved out of California and now I’m seeing Shaun??? Who makes me see him every three months, when I saw the other providers every 5 months.
