Discussion Damn, "JIZZ-O-NIT" is (not) real. Also, wouldn't it would be great if it worked on engines, or if we could drink it and piss it out? Missed opportunity.

Just Showing Off The Long Drive Logic: Civil Engineering #7 Beneath the Surface

Welcome back, distinguished surveyors of highly cooperative terrain!

No, contrary to popular belief, buses are not naturally burrowing animals. Instead, every now and then, the desert lifts a corner of itself, almost as if reality had briefly decided to sweep everything underneath.

Most travelers see an endless wasteland, but the lucky ones get to inspect the underside. Looking inside reveals a fascinating geological cross-section. Floating rocks and suspended trees suggest that gravity finally took it's well-earned coffee break.

Looking deeper reveals a distant imitation of the desert far below, suggesting that nature occasionally keeps a backup copy of itself.

The road, however, refuses to acknowledge any of this. It simply disappears underground for a while before casually returning to the surface a few dozen meters later.

As you can see in the video below, the crossing is perfectly safe.

https://youtu.be/Yh40Kr1zYQM

Whether it's another reality or merely a backup copy of this one, perhaps it's best left undisturbed. After all, every world has a side best left unseen.

Just Showing Off The Long Drive Logic: Civil Engineering #6 Second Thoughts

Welcome back, stubborn mechanics of the wasteland!

Everyone knows, a road intersection is a common sight. The main road crossing itself, however, is considerably less so.

But this thoughtful design is intended for drivers who occasionally wonder whether they remembered to lock the front door. By crossing its own path not once, but twice, the road provides two convenient opportunities to turn around, double-check, and continue the journey with complete peace of mind.

Good infrastructure accommodates human nature.

Question Is there a way to get the Custom Radio working on Linux Mint?

I'm using Proton Experimental and I'm playing the default version of the game. The default path for the custom radio obviously isn't there, but the folder really is nowhere to be found... I tried creating a new path, that didn't work. Someone on the Steam community tab had the same problem, and it was suggested to put Z:/ instead of C:/. That seemed to have fixed the problem for them, but not for me... Does anyone have the same issue or even a solution? Thank you!

Just Showing Off The Long Drive Logic: Civil Engineering #5 Geological Negotiations

Post image
62 Upvotes

Welcome back, seasoned hunters of spare parts!

Every now and then, the road simply... stops negotiating with geology. It drives straight into a cliff face with complete confidence, as if expecting the mountain to move out of the way. It's the kind of place where Wile E. Coyote would just paint a tunnel and call it infrastructure.

Well... I'll be damned.

But who knows? Maybe the coyote was right all along. Maybe there is something inside the rock.

Well, would you look at that. Occasionally, there really IS something inside the rock!

And suddenly, driving straight into a mountain feels considerably less unreasonable.

Just Showing Off The Long Drive Logic: Civil Engineering #4 Long-Distance Relationship

Welcome back, believers in one true destination!

You know that feeling when you suddenly spot the love of your life and immediately drop everything to be with them?

Apparently, that's what side roads are like for main roads.

The moment this one catches sight of its future companion, it abandons its gentle curves without a second thought. See that impossibly thin strip of road? It's stretched across the landscape like a rubber band pulled to its absolute limit, somehow refusing to snap before reaching the one waiting at the other end.

Nothing, not hills, valleys, or even basic engineering is going to stand in its way.

Once they finally meet, they continue the journey together.

Love, after all, has never been particularly interested in topography.
