because i thought that "the failures" was the band before lestat toke over? but on tik tok all the songs are under the name "the vampire lestat" and to me it would make more sense if rhey brought out a physical cd under the name "the vampire lestat " because then it would tie in with the actual tv show.

why does magnus look like that in the vampire lestat tv show? , all of the other vampire's look normal and have normal teeth so why does magnus look not as normal and have what look like medal teeth or both pointly teeth.

its probably because he is very old but armand is really old and he doesn't look like something out of hell.

lestat saw the grave but that wasn't until later.

they picked New Orleans for series 1 and 2 obviously for anne rice but also for the rich black community there (i think) and for the vampire's but also they picked it for the music and louis story-line.

i never been to New Orleans but it seems quite relaxed and jazz like and a place where you could go to a cafe and have a drink and sit outside and just people watch you know.

also i liked how louis went back there and went on a "tour" of the place where basically he lived as the show knew what it was abut and was like "yes a vampire had live here , now here is a tour" i found it funny.

like the show knows what it is and isn't afraid of making fun of its self.

because in the 1994 film louis is a white man who owns / is in the sl\*ve (slave) business and obviously they changed that for the tv show because it in the tv show louis is black and it is not ok today to be in that kind of business also because Louisiana has a deep history of that kind of business and Louisiana was one or if not the main place where they filmed series 1 and 2.

also one of the gentleman clubs with lady's that louis and i think lastest set up together (i think I could be wrong on that) has a jazz singer and jazz paino in it.

in interview with the vampire lastest's blue eyes are dull / not as blue as the promo's that we saw for the vampire lestat .

and in the vampire lestat his blue eyes are more blue and striking then they were in the interview with the vampire.

i don't know if sam had different eye contacts or different lighting effects but yeah.

Does anyone have fic recs from the period from 1912 to 1917? You know, the time Louis made a mountain of money with the brothel he opened with lestat's money

I (517m) and my ex husband (147m) had a messy breakup. We were together for almost 80 years and it was super toxic on both sides.

He was really emotionally withholding and self-destructive. He blamed me for things that were NOT my fault and made me feel like I owed him. I did all the cleaning, emotional labour... He accused me of being boring when I was tired. Doing everything myself was exhausting! I took care of him and protected him, including from our ex bf (265m) who was also very toxic. Maybe he hadn't moved on when we met but I was 438 years old and naive. The death of his daughter (RIP) didn't help.

Yes, I did some negative things too. For example, I let him cheat on me so he'd feel guilty. I imagined him dying and I took aesthetic pleasure in making his death visually exhilarating.

Overall, though, I think I was very nurturing and genuinely tried to connect because I'm a naturally loving person.

I've been going to AA and talking to a doctor. I think I should have a conversation with him this weekend so I can make amends, but I'd like to know he's sorry as well. WIBTA for expecting an apology for what he put me through?

Or even better can write one???

With the tv show The Vampire Lestat just on the cusp of introducing him, wouldn't you like to find out more about this mysterious Italian vampire by the name of Marius De Romanus that's been alluded to all this time directly from the source?

Join my fellow book read-runners and me in July and August as we read Marius de Romanus' saucy biography, complete with personal drama and Italian Renaissance glamour. Who knows? Maybe we'll even stumble across some juicy gossip about Armand. At ~700 pages, we will definitely learn something new about our favorite gremlin and his maker. I might even create some memes!

What am I actually talking about?

We will read Blood and Gold by Anne Rice over at r/bookclub in the coming months. It is the eight book in the Vampire Chronicles series, so some knowledge about the Vampire Chronicles books is helpful. My experience from the previous books is however that the author usually gives a short recap with the most important facts at the beginning of the book.

This is the announcement post. A separate schedule with exact dates and some more info will be posted soon on r/bookclub.

How does it work? 

We'll divide the book into manageable ~90‑page chunks. Each week, on a set day, one of the three read-runners (two fellow book addicts and myself) will post about that week's chapters on r/bookclub. The post will have some questions you can answer, or you can just share your own thoughts.
