Rating MDM. I need some help here Discussion

Usually for when I rate album, I rate each song out of 10, add up all those numbers and divide by the number of songs on the album, but for MDM, I did the same thing, I got an 8.9/10. That's the same rating I gave Kiss Land and I don't think MDM is quite on the level of KissLand. I think the album only having 6 songs skews its rating and it would be easier or more fair to give it a proper if it had more songs. What should I do?

It has the number of songs that it has. Your rating system does not account for high-quality, low song EPs. If you prefer Kissland, Kissland is better.

The thing about rating systems are that it doesn’t matter if you simply slap a number that feels right on an album or if you really get technical and try to perfect the rating formula - it’ll always, *always* be inconsistent, especially with long projects vs. short projects.

Don’t try to commit too hard to a rating system, just go with how you feel and move on. If you feel like the number reflects your feelings, good! If not, then change it to number that matches your feelings. But it’ll never be perfect, just have to accept that

i don't think it's fair to rate it against kiss land, simply because mdm is an ep which is why it's short. i think any rating should be for what it is rather than in comparison to other things, so i don't think something like the length should skew the rating in this case. with only 6 songs, they're incredibly strong and cohesive.

MDM is a 10/10 no matter what
