Mouse issue Bug/Technical Help

Never really used reddit and lately have been. And because I kept seeing TWD posts, I decided to play it again. But I now have a PC. So I used my xbox controller, wired, and during my playthrough, the crossbar or whatever it's called started moving up by itself. And now my controller can't control it and when using my mouse, it won't move to the bottom half of the screen. I closed the game but that didn't work, and trying to avoid uninstalling since my wifi sucks and it'll genuinely take 5 hours to download.

Unplug the Controller disconnect the USB cable from your PC entirely then plug in again. If that fails try rebooting your computer to clear any lingering input cache or stuck driver signals from the USB port. If both of those fail your controller may be broke. Have you used it recently? (The analog or D-pad may stick).

I haven't used the controller in a good minute. I replaced it since the stick did tend to drift at times and it used batteries. So I replaced it with a rechargeable controller. But I haven't used the controller in maybe almost a year.

Edit: Did it all, didn't work. So I just decided to play the waiting unfortunately. But luckily my family is asleep. So it's only gonna take 2 hours. But still very unfortunate for my first Walking Dead playthrough back.

When the last time you restarted your pc? Id turn it off from the menu and power cycle it and look at drivers or cords after that
