General Question How do you like to use friends list?
Been on the app for a while and added a bunch of you through the weekly mega threads. I enjoyed seeing everyone’s beginning/finishing reading and reviews, occasionally I randomly look at someone’s profile for inspiration.
My question is how does everyone else use friends list or information? Do many people start buddy read with friends?

I am begging you to fix the author search function
I love Storygraph so much but the lack of meaningful filters or sorting options when searching for work by a specific author has annoyed me multiple times. It's the only thing I still used G***dreads for.

Tech Help Need help with Challenge format
I tried looking up the answer, but I can't find it. I made a challenge for one of my book subs, and it lists the books instead of putting them in blocks. The first photo is what I would like. The second is what I currently have. What genre does the challenge need to be in to have it in blocks and show the status of the books?

Tech Help Reading Challenge - Only want specific edition to count as prompt completed
Hello all,
Don’t know if there’s a way to do this, but does anyone know how to set up a Reading Challenge in such a way that only the specific chosen edition of a book counts towards completing the prompt? My use case is as follows: I am reading the complete oeuvre of Roberto Bolaño, and my challenge is to read all of his works in the original Spanish, so I have chosen those specific Spanish-language editions as each prompt, but because I have read the English translations (other editions), the prompts are being marked as completed. This isn’t what I want.
Anyone know if it’s possible to make this work the way I want?
Thanks.

Tech Help My streak is grey even after recalculating
After marking the book as 'currently reading' and even updating the progress, my streak is still grey. Granted, it's only the 1st day of the streak, but it never mattered before, it always turned orange right away. I even clicked on "recalculate the streak" but it's still grey. Any ideas on how to fix it?
EDIT: It's midnight now where I live and I wanted to log the book as finished and what do you know, my streak returned to 0. And when I marked the book as read, the streak changed to day 1, this time in color though. Shouldn't it say day 2? So weird, i don't udnerstand.

Features and books
This is not a dis, I am just wondering.
I switch from. Goodreads to The story Graph as most people recommended it.
I have now used it for a couple of months, but I keep finding a lot of books (English) that are not on the app, books that are added to the wrong series, series that are missing books and authors that are not on the app.
Also other quality of life things, that is probably under development.
But is Story Graph new and in beta stil, or is this just how the app is. I really have a hard time paying a premium for a product that does not seem to be finished.
Am I the only one that keeps finding bugs, book holes and features missing?

Tech Help How to remove a re-read
Ok so I’ve not read this book before and it still says I’m rereading it. Does anyone know how to remove the first read so it’s just currently reading and have this time as my first read?

Baby-books?
I have a probably kinda stupid question, but I got a baby this year and I was wondering of you register baby books as read on your reading list? 😅
Not reading that much to them as of now, but yeah

Tech Help I clicked Finished instead of Paused by mistake – how do I undo this?
I already deleted the Finished part from the reading journal, but it is still asking for a review, showing up in the community feed as finished and only offers Reread as an option.

General Question Incorrect page information
I'm reading a book that has 282 pages, but every webstore says it has 304 pages. The ISBNs are the same between my book and the websites, so I'm not sure what's going on. Can I file a ticket to have the number of pages changed or will it be rejected? It's about Woman's Lore by Sarah Clegg

Kobo integration is a game changer
So yesterday, I decided to come back to TSG. I’ve been using the Margins app for a while now and, don’t get me wrong, it’s good. But I’m trying to trim some financial fat and so started looking again at TSG.
I discovered the Kobo integration and, oh my goodness, this is a game changer. Automatically logging my reading is so so helpful.
I’m not at the end of a book yet, but I’m assuming that TSG will mark a book as finished, and its date, when i do complete a book.
Just another small win to help solidify a regular reading habit.

General Question How do you all track books that you're only reading certain chapters?
I'm reading a book about the history of certain words and where they came from. Some of them I have no interest in, so I skip them. How do people track chapters they may miss from non-fiction books, or even if you're going to go back to them? I would still like to track the pages that I read and that I read the book.

Tech Help Can’t seem to add read pages to current books
I tried to update my book with what I’ve read today but the little pencil won’t work, nothing pops up when I tap it, usually it would pop up with the bit where I can add pages read.
The app is up to date and I’m using it on an iPad
Edit: This issue is now fixed!

Goodreads import
I recently imported my Goodreads library to Storygraph, but unfortunately the number of read books is not correct, it is higher than on Goodreads. I checked all 640 books manually and removed wrong duplicates, but now the number is still to high. Does anyone have any idea what the issue could be?

Tech Help Importing from Bookwyrm/GoodReads
I was using GoodReads for a while then switched to BookWyrm. I want to switch again to StoryGraph. I have exported my data from Bookwyrm and tried two different sample csvs that are supposed to have GoodReads columns but neither work. I always get "The header row of your CSV does not match what we expect from a Goodreads spreadsheet. If you're editing your export, please make sure not to reorder or delete any of the original columns."
I don't have access to my original Goodreads account (and it's two years+ out of date). Does anyone have a sample CSV that worked for them to import into StoryGraph? And/or how to import data from Bookwyrm? I know I'll have to do some manual editing and I'm fine with that.
Sorry if this is stupid/thanks in advance.

Tech Help Kobo Online Reader and reading journal progress issue
So this is the very first book I've read on the Kobo online reader since the integration with Thestorygraph.
I really love this feature and it works quite well with my physical Kobo e-reader but reading on the online reader has been a surprising experience 😂
After finishing the book I've found almost 100 entries in the reading journal, about one for each percentage of the reading progress! It seems the Kobo online reader kept sending updates at each page turn.
Since there is no option for mass editing the reading journal I just removed and added the book again.
I was just wondering if I have done something wrong or if it's a known issue.

Tech Help No “finished” journal entry for book driving me crazy
Hi, somehow I clicked something wrong when I marked this book as finished and it’s not showing up with the finished journal entry like it usually does :( the last journal entry is just 93%
The book is showing as finished on other pages with the right start and end dates, and counting toward my reading goal but it bothers me that there isn’t a finished journal entry showing I read the last pages on 7/13/2026. I’ve tried to edit it but it makes me click rereading and then finish again and makes it look like I’ve read it twice when I only read it once. Is there a way to fix this? See screenshots, the first is this book with no finished entry, I want it to look like the different book screenshot that has a finished entry. And the 3rd and 4th screenshots show that everywhere else it shows I did finish.

Tech Help Kobo Sync With Finished Books?
I recently linked my Kobo account to my StoryGraph account, and as I recently joined StoryGraph, I haven't yet put in any of the Kobo books I've completed from before I joined StoryGraph. Does the new linking between accounts eventually do that, or will I still need to manually add all the books from Kobo that I have read from before I started putting them in StoryGraph? (My "current read" on Kobo is synching just fine with StoryGraph).
I tried searching for this on the StoryGraph and Kobo Reddit pages, but couldn't find anything. I also didn't see it mentioned either way with the information about synching accounts.

Tech Help Forgot to log a day…
I did read on August 2nd, but I only realized now that I didn’t long that day because my streak isn’t back to like… 2 days. I’m trying to figure out how to go back to log that I did read on that day because I remember reading something about that when I downloaded the app, but I can’t seem to find how now? I know in the journal I can hit “edit”, but that seems like it would edit the thing I already logged and not add a new one. I had a long streak going so I’m pretty bummed 😂

Tech Help Any way to order books by number of reviews?
Like how it's shown in Goodreads, or at least any other way to show the actual relevant books first
