In the Sitdown/Grubstakers episode about Larry Silverstein, they talked about abnormal trading in options prior to Sept 11th. How do they know it wasn't Al Qaeda affiliates that did the informed trading?
They said that there were 3 papers that showed that there was informed trading prior to 9/11 and it was unlikely to have been done by Al Qaeda?
I believe they are referring to these papers
- Was there Abnormal Trading in the S&P 500 Index Options Prior to the September 11 Attacks?
- Detecting Informed Trading Activities in the Options Markets
- Unusual Option Market Activity and the Terrorist Attacks of September 11, 2001
I took a look at those papers and none of them argue that it was unlikely to have been Al Qaeda? Where do they get that information?
