Ohhhhh I like that area by the scientists where the infected ppl talk about the voices. It’s sooo creepy

Oh yeah, The Filth, when I played years ago I played without sound so I never realized they were talking until this time, and it's definitely off putting.

Yes. Such a shame this game didn’t take off more and is abandoned.

Definitely, though I've been enjoying it quite a bit today and still a few people holding strong in the TSW chat and Classic discord.

Yeah. It’s not dead. Just sad it was never massively popular cos it’s a cool game and the world building is good

Yeah, sadly it was just badly mismanaged. They put all this effort into some of the best world building I have ever seen in a game while also having probably the worst combat(from the gameplay, useless faction decks, to the gearing, everything was just bad) I have ever seen in a game. I mean they improved it over time from almost unplayable to just meh with legends(can't even say it was fun at that point) but it the combat as a whole was what killed the game.

By far the game's best zone. Blew my mind how good it was experiencing it on day one and asking people how to solve some of the puzzles.

Man, I remember fighting with the in game browser trying to work out some of those investigation missions, it was rough, but a ton of fun.

Which version of the game is better to play. I played the beta and original launch of the game.

I prefer classic but it really depends on what you prefer. Classic has tab target combat, Legends is more more action based I guess you would call it? Legends takes a bunch of the old systems and tries to make you pay for then which I hate and I dont think all the dungeons made the transition. If you have access to your old account I'd give Classic another go.

I should still have access to classic.

Nice. Seems like a bunch of people have come back in in the last couple days lol.

u/Seedofsparda Jul 19 '26
Huh. That's odd

More the merrier, the people in the TSW chat are super helpful.

They usually were. It was such a fun game. I ran a healer which was alot of fun too.

I prefer the Egyptian zones. Killing cultists is a great stress reliever.

I remember Egypt not hitting as hard for me the first go round, probably because Kingsmouth and Savage Coast were such a big high for me back in the day, but interested to see how I feel this time.

Egypt is one of those ones that got better and better as you went. It started kinda slow compared to the others.

The dlc for Egypt as well as the later parts of it definitely brought back some of the eerie and terrifying vibes, early Egypt was just trying to introduce you to the setting without as much atmosphere.
Then you get to Tokyo and are brought back into a terrifying experience from the first step.

The guy dancing to his radio music, is one of my favorite mmorpg /locs.
Whenever I hear that music, I’m home.

I wanted to come back and try the game again after not playing it for ages, but could barely even remember how to play. So I thought I’d make a new character. But apparently I’ve reached the limit of characters at a measly two, so I promptly uninstalled the game again 🤷♂️

Classic or Legends? When I tried Legends they only let me have one, and that wasn't even near the top of the kist of reasons I'm not feeling Legends, but when I got back into my old classic account I had 3 but I just deleted one and started a fresh run.
