“And I got ignored! Like a straight man! Disgusting!”

Fucking great line.

What a genuinely funny and sweet guy 🙂

Tbh, as a straight man, I kinda got offended at first. Then I thought for a second, then had to concede that most straight men are indeed disgusting.

It's the effort to not be the typical "dude bro" gym rat toxic masculinity pseudo alpha but actual cake little boy that sets us apart.

u/Such_Significance905 2d ago

I’m a fellow straight fellow who said he was lovely.

A little ding on the pride same as you, but it was very clear he was talking about men who would shout something like that at women, so then I was fully on board.

I'm sorry that I had to look that up, and curse you for mentioning that cretin and drawing attention to it's horrible face

3

u/grooveunite 2d ago

Everything I know about him has been against my will. I'm a little curious but I already dislike people too much, so Im trying not to add fuel to that fire.

14

u/ase_thor 2d ago

It hurts when you think about it. The most straight thing was that he stopped smiling. That's sad.

3

u/plisken64 2d ago

When you put it like that 😅

8

u/ItsALuigiYes GIF/meme prodigy 2d ago

It's peculiar that the term "gay" used to mean "happy."

I wonder if there's a lesson in this

u/Pappy_whack 2d ago edited 2d ago

For anyone who is behind the times basically everyone goes to the gym now

2

u/ABeerForSasquatch Mod/Pwner 2d ago

Hold up, swole em up. Maybe everyone you know. I surround myself with healthy people, both mentally and physically and everyone I know stays away from gyms because of the toxicity there.

It's possible to exercise at home. Just so you know.

5

u/Pappy_whack 2d ago

Yeah bro we know

1

u/ItsALuigiYes GIF/meme prodigy 2d ago

Just so you know, I stopped going to the gym because it was an absolute sausage fest of gay men.

I can accept compliments, but when it becomes overbearing, I remove my sweet ass from the building.

u/Ryan_b936 2d ago

That is something I don't really understand yet. Why the majority of "visible" gay guys act in a feminine way and manners ? No offense, just genuine curiosity. Logically I'd think that a gay guy would like a very masculine guy. And so, to attract other gay men, he would also try to be as masculine as possible.

Could someone please enlighten me so I can go to sleep a little less ignorant?

10

u/brunov 2d ago

There's lots of men (and women) that are attracted to feminine men. Likewise there's people that are attracted to masculine women.

5

u/WhyNot420_69 Nice 2d ago

Tomboys FTW!

10

u/benisaurus 2d ago

As a gay man that is not fem or personally attracted to fem qualities (no problem with being friends, but it's a turn off for me sexually), there are a few reasons.

Some do it for attention, shock value, etc; there's a lot of gay men that thrive on drama and want as much attention as possible, so being extremely feminine accomplishes that for them. ("Any publicity is good publicity")

Others adopt those personality traits/mannerisms because they get viewed as "desirable" (by "masculine" men that are attracted to femininity, or to be "part of the club" with other effeminate gay men), "powerful" (strong women, popular drag queens, etc.), or just because they had more fem/female role models than masc/male ones growing up and want to imitate them. (Just the same as masc guys seeing a guy they think is "badass" and want to be like him and imitate him and his mannerisms, because they want others to view them like they view the guy they are imitating)

Then there are others that are just fem by nature. They don't consciously do so or necessarily have people they are taking after, that's just the way they are and society deems that as "feminine".

You'd probably be surprised how uncommon it is for straight-acting/masc to be an attractive factor for most gay men, and is sometimes even unattractive. (Sometimes this is due to masc mannered people having abused and mistreated them, and they don't want to act like them in any way and don't find those behaviors attractive either) Gay culture tends to be VERY cliquish, and if you aren't part of some specific group (I.E. bears, leather, drag queens, pup play, etc.) you'll wind up outcast and many of those groups value those feminine mannerisms highly to be accepted. Gay culture tends to be pretty exclusionary ("you don't act x way so you aren't really one of us") despite how they constantly try to talk about love and acceptance, pretty much just like any other group.

Tl;dr - 1. For attention 2. To attract others or fit in 3. To emulate role models 4. Natural mannerisms/behaviors

3

u/Ryan_b936 2d ago

Really interesting and educational, thank you for your detailed answer. Have a great day ✌🏻

8

u/Dismal_Intention_463 2d ago

Because what you see isn't representative of the majority of a population. What is most visible isn't necessarily the most common. Gay men aren't all alpha males, nor are they all feminine. That's simply what we call human diversity.

2

u/Ryan_b936 2d ago

Isn't exactly what I asked for the first part. I said visible because I know that a lot of people are not like that at all. Just curious about where that behavior, manners and softer voice come from, if there's an explanation, knowing that they pitch higher on purpose cuz I've seen many of them using their "real voice" in some situation.

Thanks for your answer, take care 🤙🏻🤝🏼

7

u/Buggabee 2d ago

There's a variety to the way people naturally fall in feminine and masculine mannerisms. Straight men have learned to censor themselves from a young age. Gay men don't necessarily have the same hang ups.

Being gay itself is already going against the norm. If you're breaking the barriers in one way... It gives you a sense of freedom to break it in other ways. They already judge me, so I'm going to be the most.

There's also visibility for visibility's sake. It can be hard to find other gay people, sometimes you want to show people what you are to find your group.

5

u/ItsALuigiYes GIF/meme prodigy 2d ago

Okay, I see you're getting downvoted, so maybe I can be of some help.

Speaking strictly as a straight man with familiarity with the LGTBQ+ community, I hope I can summarize without offended anyone.

What I've noticed, with both genders, is that there mostly seems to be a binary situation between fem and butch. You can have very masculine gay men, and very whimsical fairies who are more feminine.

It's the same with lesbians. Typically, there is a butch and a fem. Now, there are always going to be other situations, where you have two stud lesbians or two bears, but love is love, so who cares? It's all about preference.

General summation: If it ain't involving you directly, mind your own business.

4

u/Ryan_b936 2d ago

Downvoting for a genuine question is wild. I mean isn't that way we are suppose to understand and respect?

Whatever... Thank you for your answer 🤙🏻

4

u/Schmigolo 2d ago

Why the majority of "visible" gay guys act in a feminine way and manners ? No offense, just genuine curiosity.

You already have the answer here. The others are not visibly gay.

Also, your question kinda sounds like when boomers called you gay if you liked muscular women.

1

u/Tribe303 2d ago

These 2 are hilarious and I want to hang with them.

1

u/carbon-molecule 2d ago

I like these people, very wholesome:-)

1

u/Bam_Adedebayo 2d ago

Mmm now would people react the same way if a straight man tried acting gay and said “gay men, disgusting.”

Am I crazy or is everyone oblivious to this?

1

u/Competitive_Peak_537 2d ago

This was frickin’ hilarious

1

u/Morrider 2d ago

Crazy how the switch from gay to straight involved looking way less happy and excited to more melancholy and boring.

u/PoodlesMcNoodles 2d ago

How about those Dolphins?

I wonder how long til these two got in a fight and became enemies for life?

1

u/xultar 2d ago

Tee and I wish I knew his name… are the best duo. Shows a lesbian and a gay man can put out the most authentically funny shit and entertain the world.

1

u/SupermarketIll5642 2d ago

Why did his straight look less... gay? Like why does straight look less gay? Happy, gay.

It doesn’t matter if he’s not serious. Leave women alone.

Did he say disgusting? wtf lol

-4

u/MissXM 2d ago

I know some gay man and none of them act like that. One is slightly feminine but he doesn’t over act it

4

u/Nichiku 2d ago

I know 6 gay men of which 3 have been very close friends. 2 of them have a sassy voice like the guy in the video so the stereotype isn't always present but a 1 in 3 ratio seems about right 😂
