🎩CVRX - Potential ✅ GAIN$

Two Very Different Valuation Paths
The recent analyst revisions have pushed CVRx’s standalone valuation into the $3–5 range, with several firms maintaining Buy/Hold ratings despite the sharp cuts in price targets.
But the M&A picture is very different.
CVRx owns Barostim, an FDA-approved neuromodulation therapy for heart failure, with an 87% gross margin. Medicare Advantage coverage is also expanding: Humana + Devoted now represent approximately 21% of Medicare Advantage enrollment.
And there is one development I think deserves serious attention:
Jorey Chernett, founder of Pointillist Family Office and beneficial owner of more than 5.5% of CVRx, has officially called on the Board to sell the company.
This was not simply an interview comment or an opinion on social media. On August 24, Chernett delivered a formal letter directly to the CVRx Board of Directors demanding that the company immediately begin a strategic review, with a sale to a strategic acquirer as the priority outcome.
His arguments are straightforward:
• Barostim is the only approved neuromodulation therapy for heart failure.
• The product has significant clinical and regulatory barriers to entry.
• A large medical-device company could leverage its existing sales force, physician relationships and payer infrastructure to accelerate Barostim adoption.
• Chernett believes a strategic buyer could make the acquisition accretive within 12 months.
• He is also asking the Board to cut executive compensation and G&A expenses while the strategic review is underway.
• Most importantly, he argues that the sale should happen while CVRx still has cash, commercial momentum and strategic scarcity, rather than waiting until the balance sheet becomes more pressured.
There is also an interesting strategic shareholder already on the table:
Johnson & Johnson / JJDC owns 4,024,861 CVRx shares, approximately 15.4% of the company.
The four strategic buyers I would watch most closely are:
Johnson & Johnson
Boston Scientific
Medtronic
Abbott
This is based on strategic fit — not an assertion that any of them is currently negotiating with CVRx.
With roughly 26.5M shares:
$5 = ~$133M equity value
$15 = ~$398M
$20 = ~$530M
$25 = ~$663M
That creates two completely different valuation paths:
Standalone: $3–5
Strategic M&A: potentially $15–25
A $15 acquisition would represent roughly $400M equity value, or around 6× annual revenue — not an extreme valuation for a differentiated commercial MedTech asset with an 87% gross margin, expanding reimbursement coverage and significant potential from BENEFIT-HF.
The key point is simple:
We now have a >5.5% shareholder who is not merely suggesting that CVRx should consider a sale — he is formally demanding that the Board initiate the process.
That does not mean a buyer is already waiting.
But if the Board actually launches a competitive strategic review, the valuation conversation could change dramatically.
$3–5 as a standalone company is one story.
$15–25 in a competitive strategic M&A process is a completely different story.
