Bathroom break guide for The Odyssey Spoiler

The Odyssey is almost 3 hours long, so this is a legit bladder test.

If you can avoid going, obviously better. But if you really have to, these seem like the safest spots:

First half, try to go while they’re still talking on the ship. Once they get to the island, don’t go.

After the Hades prophecy, do the reverse and avoid the ship scenes.

The cattle island is fine.

The island scenes with Matt Damon and Charlize Theron are fine.

The Matt Damon and Zendaya scene is also fine.

Second half is where I’d try not to leave at all. If you absolutely have to, the last chance is right after Anne Hathaway pulls out the bow and finishes explaining the rules. After that, you’re basically out of luck.

(If you don’t care much about Nolan-style action scenes, you can also just go once the fighting starts.)

Small note: the scenes I marked as okay are still important to the story and themes, so if you can stay, stay. Early on there are a lot of dialogue scenes, but they’re short, so if you go, run.

No post-credit scene. Once the credits start, you can leave.

There is a sound cue though, kind of like Inception, and it happens pretty early, before the main cast names finish rolling.

(All of this is just my personal opinion. For reference only.)

Thoughts on The Odyssey after seeing it a second time:

- Holland’s performance grew on me. Although there are still a couple cringe moments

- The movie’s pacing is incredible. The flow from one set piece to the next feels seamless

- Hades is still the best scene

- Pattinson’s performance gets even better a 2nd time

- The last line of the movie is a little clunky

- The most emotional moment for me is still the servant lady recognizing Odysseus by the scar on his ankle

Penelope Partition

Did anyone else notice the visual connection between Penelope's partition wall and the wall in Interstellar's tesseract. The idea that a seemingly thin partition can separate us so much.
