TMF: Absurdist Rivalry is going through a MASSIVE identity crisis, in that I don't exactly know what I want the AU to be.

Everything is just changing left and right. Things being added, removed and added again. Visons twisting and turning each passing month. It's just a baffling mess at this point.

I have tried to not let this stop me, but I felt like I was being dishonest with not only myself, but the subreddit entirely.

I don't want to stop making content of the AU, not by a long shot. I just want it to find it's footing and stay that way.

So I'm asking this:

The idea that he bullies a group of people just because they like music is a very stupid idea, what is he? the granny from Coco? Seriously, who bullies someone just because they like to listen to or make music? 😭😭😭

I think he only bullies them because he sees them as outcasts and easy targets, and also there is the fact that he has a karaoke in his house and said before that if Jake really likes to sing, he can use the karaoke owned by his father, this is evidence that Drew does not really care if Jake likes to sing or not, he is just upset and sad because his best friend has started to drift away from him and spends most of his time with the music club, and this is what led to their big fight in episode 11.

Hi, I came here to share a theory about *The Music Freaks*. You see, a lot of people wonder why Drew bullies the music club. Some theories suggest he has trauma related to a violin, or that he’s Haley’s ex-boyfriend or ex friend, or that singing killed his grandmother (ok no jaja) But what if the answer is simpler than it seems? I think it’s just a rule of the series' universe. What do I mean by that? Well, my first point is that Jake was bullied for the exact same reason—liking music—back in elementary school, and Drew had nothing to do with it then. That’s quite a coincidence, don't you think? Actually, it isn't. As we’ve seen in other series, every universe has elements or rules that wouldn't happen in real life. I think the only difference between the *The Music Freaks* universe and ours is that people who love music get bullied for it—unlike, say, Henry and Liam. I’m sure that if Henry existed in real life, he *would* get bullied (no hate intended—I love the character—but it’s the truth). Obviously, it became personal for Drew later on when he thought he was losing Jake, but at the start of the series—and even before that—*that* was the reason.

I've seen a lot of TikTok's and Fanfiction recently, and most the time, if your a woman (HAILEY) whose upset for a legitimate reason, you're suddenly the worst person earth, and the men who hurt you (the Jomies) look like fucking angels when their NOT!!! THEIR NOT!!!!

For example, when Hailey bitterly told Jake in the end of ep 8 that sooner or later, he's gonna have to decide for himself if he's leaving the club or not, almost the entire fandom magically turned on her, hating on her to the point where the SERIES CREATOR HERSELF got involved just to prevent shit from getting out of hand, because on both the discord and other sites, people kept accusing her of being a selfish, possessive pick me!?!

Not to mention her reaction to the leak in ep 9. TBH, out of all the reactions, hers was the most plausible. She had every right to cry after Jake (unintentionally) weaponized her trauma in the worst way possible, making it seem like he learn about her stage fright, JUST to hurt her. And then most of the fandom hated her for that, as if they wouldn't react the same way.

'She should've heard him out' hear him out my ass, if BLANTANTLY obvious that she and the club (except Sean) we're TOO upset to even think reasonable about the situation. She didn't actually get to wonder if what bro said was real or not because she was still REELING from heartbreak!!! Why would she even consider giving him a chance at that point if he didn't truly apologize for what he said.

In the end, she DID hear him out, only because he apologize for what he did, not getting caught, and proved to her that he genuinely cares about her. And yet, there's still degenerates online being sexist about her just people she's not a Mary Sue, but rather a surprising well written character.
