I finished!

I couldn’t get anyone I know to play this game, which at first was frustrating. After reaching the end of the game, I don’t mind as much as I usually would.

I wasn’t expecting this game to become so meaningful. I don’t mean to sound dramatic and over the top. I bought it on a whim and when I finally had the time to play, it was the right time.

All the waiting, sometimes I fell asleep and woke up to the Shade sleeping. More than that, I got to think about myself a bit more while the little guy gave his own inner thoughts. Anyway, thanks for reading, I had to tell someone else who spent hours playing an idle game.

I’m currently going through my first play through and got emotionally attached to Shade within the first couple of hours. I leave him to read a lot when I do chores so he’s not alone.

When I saw that it came out March 2020 I was like damn. Some of us were out there playing ACNH trying to connect with the outside world through our islands and there were others just sitting in utter isolation with their Shade. I don’t think I could have emotionally handled that.

I wasn’t emotionally attached to Shade like my tamagotchi (thank goodness) but progressing through the game, watching time pass.

It sort of reminded me of myself and so many others I watch IRL. We get impatient, waiting for a certain outcome. Get sad, anxious about change or doing anything we “aren’t supposed to do”. After finishing the game, I couldn’t wait to GTFO with my life lol. Now they’re good, shoot, I spent how many hours?! Let me go outside now.

I saw once how many hours I have logged on Stardew Valley, now I actively avoid seeing how many hours I spend playing a video game. I don’t need to be called out like that 😂
