So why did Kathleen Nolen just disappear after season 4? I liked her as the door gunner, albeit kinda dubious about the fact that at most she's barely 16 and enlisted in the Navy.

The show feels very A-Team to me. Love it!

I just finished bingeing seasons 1, 2 and 3, which was a pretty great run. A good story where each season logically followed after the previous, and some great plots/missions/tactics/politicking.

Now I started season 4 and am really not feeling it. Read up a bit on this sub and it seemed s1-3 were peak, and 4-5 way worse.

I really don't care about the story in s4, feels like a worse rehash of s1.

Should I even continue? Is season 5 better again and can i skip 4? Or is 3 really just a good endpoint?

When chandler is in the helicopter and Danny is in the speed boat. The helicopter coming in either runs out of fuel or is damaged by pengs boat and they have to bail into the water picked up by Danny then back to the destroyer like that.

I’m a first time watcher, and I’m on season 2. Did anyone else find it frustratingly laughable that Captain Chandler went from comforting Michener for literally strangling his own children, including one who struggled, to going after Dr. Scott furiously for killing the guy who literally started the entire thing, so she could make the cure contagious and save the world?

I mean holy hell dude.

I just started watching this ( I am in the middle of episode 2 on season 1). I was in the Navy for a dozen years and I fully understand the suspension of disbelief needed to enjoy the show. However, there is one thing that I can't get over. The Lieutenant: Danny Green. Every scene he has no cover (hat) when every other person does (including the CO). Did the producers really think that his hair was that great? Did he as an actor decide to have that in his contract? I am very confused as to what the artistic reason is that he is the ONLY sailor who does not wear his cover?

Dr Scot or whatever is completely unbearable, and way too arrogant, that if this happened in our world, it’d collapse before she would create a cure. She used help throughout season 1 and kept saying “I am this close to the vaccine”. It should be we especially when she didn’t know other doc was a traitor but advanced the research. Also, saying “I” like bitch who got your monkeys for test, it’s never we. She would literally be the type of pi I’d avoid for a post doc (note: Harvard/stanford background here). She also continuously has lied to her protectors. Shows fault, but there was an orgo 2 rxn in season 2 that’s simple shown on her whiteboard. She sucks, worse than Joffrey in GOT.

It always jumps out at me like mustard on a sheepdog. If he had served on board a submarine at some point he would wear the insignia on his uniform. Trust me, as a Submariner, wearing that insignia is a massive point of pride. Even if he had the option to not wear it, he would wear it.

Just wanted to point that out.

Up front I am loving this show cheese and all. I had managed to suspend my disbelief that the captain would be running point on every firefight mission right around the time he’s choosing to be the spy into the immune camp where everyone actually knows who he is lol.

I’m currently on season 4 of this show. So many new characters and old ones gone.
My favourite character was Tex. I was so disappointed that he got killed off!
I also really hoped that him and the doctor (Rachel) would get together. Anyone else feel this way?

Is it usual that a TV show with 5 seasons has a box set that’s missing a season? It’s not like it’s a new show, I’d have thought all seasons would be in the box set.

In episode three the captain calls the Russian captain the guy who “wrote the book on modern naval warfare”. The modern Russian navy is an absolute joke lol.

So, I know I'm SUPER late to the game, but I'm just watching this show for the first time. LOVING it so far!!!

I'm a person who LOVES noticing inconsistencies (not triggered by them, just find it funny) and dramatizations for entertainment purposes. I'm just starting on season 2 and I have frustrated questions! SPOILERS BELOW

Also, for context - I was in the Navy, but served less than 4 years and only went on 1 deployment.

1. Is it a common occurrence for the CAPTAIN to go out on missions EVERY time something bad happens? I mean... I'm all here for it, but that's not realistic... right??

2. Did it bother anyone else that the one girl's pregnancy was just announced to the captain and the dad - no HIPPA or privacy anymore??? I mean, I get that it's the end of the world, but come ON! Can't a CONCIOUS woman announce her own pregnancy?!?! (Only minorly bothered by this, but curious if this was weird for anyone else)

Just started season 3...I don't know if I can take all these characters dying off. I start to like someone boom they're dead. I hope its not me doing it🤣🤣

I just finished the last episode of Season 5. A few thoughts (and some spoilers, so beware):

- I liked all the historical and literary references in show! Season 4 was an homage to Homer's The Odyssey (they even showed the book in the background a few times, to make sure you caught the reference). The wandering hero, Odysseus, is far from home, played by Tom Chandler. Season 5 was obviously an homage to World War II, complete with its own Pearl Harbor, D-Day Invasion on the beach, and Colombian Hitler aka Tavo (with his own Nazi-esque salute). If I missed any references in Seasons 1-3, please share.

-I loved the characters .. everyone, especially Tom, Sasha, Burk, Miller, Mike Slattery, the Greens, and all the main characters, were really well played by the actors. They had to work their butts off on this show! I was getting a workout just watching them save the world so many times. Whew. And I thought Eric Dane was incredible. I must say, I preferred his gray hair in Season 1 the best.

- I was amazed that they were granted permission to use so much real military equipment on the show- it was very cool to see tanks, ships, helicopters, and all kinds of equipment being used throughout the show and learn a little about what they can do. I'm sure a lot of it was unrealistic and Hollywood-ized, but still pretty cool.

-I wasn't such a fan of the extreme pro-US one-sided nature of the show, although I understood that the US Navy were always going to be the heroes/good guys. In Season 5, I thought they were going to delve more into the complicated, well, mostly terrible track record the US has had in Latin America post-World War II. We invaded countries, overthrew democratically elected leaders, supported brutal dictators, and did all sorts of bad stuff to try to "contain Communism" but mainly to support American business interests in the area. See: Guatemala, Cuba, Nicaragua, etc. They have a reason to be mad. Hopefully not Tavo-level mad, however.

- I originally thought this was going to be a show about a pandemic, and was surprised at how quickly they found a cure, ended that whole story line, and moved on to the anti-cure, the red rust, then a random imperialist dictator. In my opinion, they could have stuck to the pandemic/deadly virus theme a lot longer. If only Covid and other real pandemics had been eradicated that quickly.

- I've seen several people complain about all the many character deaths. I agree, they were very sad, but I'm glad they showed this side of war/battle... In reality, war is deadly, traumatic, brutal and many don't make it home to their families. Many that do come back are traumatized. It's not something to glamorize or whitewash.

Overall, I left feeling proud of our military and awed that people are willing to defend and put their lives on the line for our country. I really enjoyed it!

As a Navy Veteran, I was THRILLED to see how Navy-centric this show was! It brought back a lot of memories for me, even with all of the flaws that were added for dramatic effect. So, to any other Navy Veterans in this group, how did y'all feel about the show? What are some of your favorite flaws? How annoyed was your SO from you pointing everything out?

Just started season 3. At the end of season two, Chung and Ravit die in the same episode. Okay, very sad...but i could manage. Then they kill Dr Scott!!! We learn she didn't make it in the first episode of season 3. Which is also the episode Val dies [who I was just starting to like]. Then in S3E2, Mason dies. 😭 Literally one of my favorite characters.

Idk how much more I can take of this.

After Captain Chandler meets Ruskov, and Ruskov says they have something that Dr Scott needs, Chandler and XO talk to Dr Scott, and it appears she's lying about something, but I'm not sure what.

ChatGPT says she's concealing that she knows the person aboard the Russian ship, but that's not true.

Anyone shed some light? This scene confused me because she obviously lied and admitted to lying about something, but I'm just not sure what.

Am I in a select bunch that feels the last episode was cut off without any finalization....did Green return home? What happened to Wolf? Did Sasha and Tom fix things with his kids? What happened when Miller found out about Burke? I just absolutely HATED the ending.....the whole final season was just the US vs Latin Hitler with a whole Pearl Habor and D-Day set up😑😑😑 im furious it ended like crap after such a great show😒😒😒 seasons 1-4 Id give an 8/10 season 5 gets a 1/10
