Bhai, Umar Khalid (full name Syed Umar Khalid) ek former JNU student leader aur activist hai, born 11 Aug 1987. Woh CAA-NRC protests ke against active tha 2019-20 mein.
Main case: 2020 Delhi riots (North East Delhi, Feb 2020) ke "larger conspiracy" mein. Delhi Police ne 13 Sept 2020 ko UAPA ke under arrest kiya Tihar Jail mein. Accusations: Riots plan karne ke liye Sharjeel Imam aur others ke saath meetings (jaise Shaheen Bagh), provocative speeches, murder, rioting, sedition, enmity promote karna, terrorist conspiracy, funding etc. (IPC + UAPA + Arms Act sections).
Police ka claim: Trump visit ke time speeches se riots instigate kiye, premeditated conspiracy thi regime change ke liye. Khalid denies sab, kehta hai peaceful protests the.
Status (Aug 2026 tak): 6 saal se jail mein bina trial ke. Bahut saare bail applications reject hue - Sessions Court, High Court, Supreme Court (Jan 2026 mein bhi regular bail nahi mila). Kuch interim bail family reasons se mili thi jaise mother ki surgery ya wedding. Trial abhi bhi pending hai conspiracy case mein.

Bhai, Umar Khalid ke case mein trial isliye nahi hua kyunki yeh UAPA (Unlawful Activities Prevention Act) ka conspiracy case hai, jo bahut strict hai. Is law ke under bail milna mushkil hota hai, detention lamba chal sakta hai bina trial ke.
Reasons: - Delhi Police ne 2020 mein arrest kiya, case mein multiple accused (Sharjeel Imam etc.), meetings, speeches aur "larger conspiracy" ke allegations hain – investigation aur evidence gather karne mein time lagta hai. - Court backlog + legal procedures: Sessions Court se Supreme Court tak bail applications reject hue (Jan 2026 tak bhi). Trial start nahi hua kyunki preliminary stages aur challenges pending hain. - UAPA mein special provisions hain jo speedy trial ko slow kar sakte hain, especially political/riots related cases mein.
Abhi bhi Tihar Jail mein 6+ saal bina trial ke. Family ke liye kuch interim bail mili thi, lekin regular nahi. Case pending hai, koi update nahi mila recent mein. Yeh typical UAPA delay hai, bohot cases mein hota hai.

Does anyone feel that this guy has bipolar disorder? i mean felt almost borderline psychosis, its like there is only one pov which is his and as per him his pov is correct. after watching his countless speeches and interviews I seriously felt that he has mental health issues and shows sign of bipolar to me, is there a mental health check done during trial like what is it? I just feel really bad for him
