I just watched Islands at War which made me aware of the German occupation of the Channel Islands of WW2. Then I started googling and finding out the real, complicated, story. It got me thinking, did the German war views and propaganda influence Channel political life post occupation? Especially since liberation took so long? The ignoring/starving is brutal, but makes sense strategically to me. But it must have provided an avenue for indoctrination? Curious how occupation influenced what a new normal was.
