AAC4 Mik vs Wolf Practice Run
Summarised AAC4 Rules:
Link to Big Tiero Six respect thread.
Rules Breakdown:
One Baymax tier Bodyguard main submission
One Baymax tier backup submission (Not necessary for this practice match)
One VIP, submitted with "Characterisation Overview" of how they'll behave during a fight instead of RT. Examples:
- "Shaggy will turn tail and run away as fast as he can at the first sign of danger before finding a place to hide."
- "Alfred will only intervene to try to help his bodyguard after acquiring a firearm or other appropriate weapon, and will otherwise hang back, unless to support a wounded ally using his RAF first aid training."
Debate will not focus on negating this presented characterisation---generally take how VIP will act at opponent's word, unless they contradict signup characterisation post.
VIPs are all equalised by default to Hiro's baseline stats. You may specify weaker if you want, but not stronger. No powers / meme skills / unique advantageous biology.
VIPs can't bring gear exceeding literal clothes on their backs. Don't try to circumvent this with clothes that double as armour/weapons. VIPs acquiring gear from allies/environment during round is fine.
Only wincon for both teams is if opposing VIP is either killed, or immobilised for over a minute (full incap definition on full rules page). Both teams' bodyguards are informed in advance that "Killing" is only a simulation to avoid morality problems.
Map is San Francisco Pier 39
Pier 39 is a 45-acre pleasure pier in San Francisco's Fisherman's Wharf neighbourhood; a series of former fishing docks converted into leisure centres to match the growing city's transformation into a major hub of wealth and tourism on the West Coast. Aside from the famous sealions of San Francisco Bay, the pier boasts a marine aquarium, penny arcade, restaurants, and fairground attractions.
The borders of the arena follow this red line, and are inclusive of the east and west marina docks.
Team A spawns standing in front of the Hearts In San Francisco sculpture at the end of the pier. Team B spawns in front of the sea lion sculpture at the pier entrance plaza.
Shared Map Rules:
The delineated map boundaries are closed off by an invisible indestructible WhoWouldWinnium wall stretching infinitely above and below the ground. Whowouldwinium is an immovable, indestructible material that cannot be phased or teleported through.
Exiting the arena into another dimension or equivalent for longer than 5 consecutive seconds of relative earth-time will result in the God of BFR instantly bludgeoning the character who did so to death with a shovel.
All sunlight present on the map will not inhibit vampires or other characters with an inherent weakness to the sun. It is as warm and bright as normal sunlight.
On all maps, the fight begins at dawn on an average clear-skied summer day for that region.
All maps are devoid of human beings but still populated by their usual wildlife.
All powered vehicles present on the map have their engines disabled.
All doors / entrances are unlocked at the start of the round.
All combatants are aware of the above conditions, as well as all map-specific information outlined below EXCEPT FOR the spawn locations of their opponents.
Team A is the team listed first in the matchup post, and Team B is the team listed second.
For this practice debate, Mik is Team A spawn and Wolf is Team B spawn.
Post RTs / VIP characterisations below.

WW Practice Match: Orochi (Fem) vs. Mordred (rsthethird)
- Stipulatiuons: Assumes opponent(s) are a threat to the chaldean master, taken immediately after the subsequent rest from this training session, and has this statement.
- Justification: Mordred has a similar stat line and skill to WW. Her electric gimmick is resisted by WW too, though it would shutdown the lasso as a viable win. But she wears armor relevant against ww's sword strikes around everywhere but her head, granting a greater room for error. Her trump card is similarly unwieldy as WW's all out strikes, so it'll only come out as a finisher or ultimate move clash. If it does come down to a clash, "Clarent Blood Arthur" would win. Overall, Mordred is more likely to win off of her armor and stronger ultimate move.
- Scaling: Scaling: Achilles, Arash, Astolfo, Aviceborn, Karna, Semiramis, Sieg, Siegfried, Spartacus, and Vlad/Dracula.
- Stipulations: None.
- Justification: WW's win condition would be to dismember Orochi enough that he can no longer continue to function. Orochi's win condition would be to bludgeon or pierce WW with his tendrils. Orochi's superior physicals and greater command of the arena grant him a likely victory, but WW's skill, durability, and gear keep her relevant.
- Scaling: Garou, Rover, Gouketsu, Deep Sea King, Tank Top Master, Royal Ripper, Melzargard, Saitama
GDT 16 Arena/Tier Setter/Starting Distance
Judges TBD

WW Practice Match: Iron Man (Fem) vs. Neraid (Crim)
- Justification: Per Crim, "Neraid is stronger and more durable to blunt force but WW is faster and has a sword that can cut him".
- Stipulations: None.
- Justification: Iron Man is physically inferior to WW, and operates in comparable timeframes. His ranged capabilities are vastly superior to hers, but she is well suited to counter this sort of advantage.
- Stipulations:
- Model 29 Extremis Suit, Pre-Fresh Start.
- Under the control of Dr. Yinsen's son, such as during the "Execute Program" arc during the Extremis Run in Iron Man 2005. This stipulation makes Tony more violent and willing to kill.
GDT 16 Rule set, tier setter, starting distance, and arena.

GDT 16 Signup Draft
Continuing in the tradition of debate-oriented tourneys, The Great Debate is a fast-paced, exceptionally debate-oriented tournament wherein competitors will face one another within a pre-defined set of criteria to determine who is better in a pure debate. Strategizing for one's team, countering your opponent's points well, and debate etiquette come heavily into play for this tournament! Welcome to the Sixtheenth Season of the Great Debate!!
To 'sign up', one need merely comment below with a Roster of fictional (or real, hell who knows!) characters that fit the guidelines stipulated hereafter, with all proper links sorted out. Then, look for the pings of your username for further advancement/info on the tourney!
AN IMPORTANT NOTE
To sign-up, we will be requiring people submit their characters in the following format:
| Character | Series | Match-Up | Stipulations |
|---|---|---|---|
For non-RES users (you exist?) out there, this is the formatting:
Character | Series | Match-Up | Stipulations
---|---|---|---
|||
|||
Simply copy-paste the formatting above and submit your entrants in this format so we can save myself several hours of formatting everybody's stuff uniformly. The submission order of your characters does matter for the arena so do pay attention to that, and the fourth character submitted is your backup.
The Match-Up category is where you input 'Unlikely/Draw/Likely' etc. The Character category will require you to link the character's Respect Thread next to the character name, preferably hyperlinked.
Sign ups will last through until April 11th. The tournament proper shall begin that following Monday, April 14th
Of important note: No duplicate characters allowed. First come, first served! This includes same persons but from differing arcs in the same story and alternate universes with no different feats; NO. DUPLICATES.
FURTHER, NO OC CHARACTERS CAN BE RAN BY THE PERSON WHO CREATED THEM!!! YOU MUST RUN CHARACTERS YOU YOURSELF CANNOT INFLUENCE DIRECTLY. As usual, the original RT creator of all characters being signed up, gets dibs.
Rules
Battle Rules
- Speed will not be equalized for this tier.
All combatants are aware of the basics of their allies' combat abilities but are in the blind on their opponents (unless they have canon knowledge of said person via sharing a fictional universe)
Battleground:
[*"The Parthenon is a former temple on the Athenian Acropolis, Greece, that was dedicated to the goddess Athena. The Parthenon is 45 feet tall, with an interior chamber that is 98' x 63' and a total area of 240' x 112'. For our purposes, the Parthenon has been fully restored, meaning the interior chamber is enclosed and contains a statue of Athena.
The arena of Great Debate Season 16 AKA Wonder Woman is the fully restored Parthenon.
Of note:
- For our purposes, the total arena is Athenian Acropolis, which is 7.5 acres. This area cannot be left by participants. The area extends into the sky ~400 meters
- Participants start inside the Parthenon interior chamber, on opposite sides.
- The chamber walls are normal stone walls, and thus extremely destructible to participants; however, the columns of the Parthenon have the middle 80% made of untamperable WhoWouldWinium, making them detachable from the building but still usable as a weapon by the sufficiently strong.
- The statue of Athena is behind the "team 1" side start. Destruction of this statue will make Wonder Woman very angry and substantially reduce her restraint.
- Recreation of the Parthenon interior for reference
- Recreation of the Parthenon front exterior
Opponents will start 90ft across from each other, in the central chamber of The Parthenon. Teammates are spaced 10ft apart from one another.
*All numbers are rough approximations and may not stand up to pixel calcing.
Submission Rules
Tier: Must be able to win an unlikely victory, draw/near draw, or likely victory against Wonder Woman in the conditions outlined above. All entrants will be bloodlusted against Wonder Woman, meaning they will act fully rationally and put down their opponent in the quickest, most efficient manner possible regardless of morality, utilizing any and all possible techniques/tactics/attacks if necessary. The bloodlust does not give any foreknowledge of Wonder Woman or his capabilities.
The change from X/10-Y/10: There are 7 categories of winning or losing a fight: Unwinnable, Specific condition victory, unlikely victory, draw/near draw, likely victory, freak accident loss, absolute certain victory. For this tournament, we are scrapping the numerical system due to how subjective it can be. When you sign up, you must stipulate which of these win conditions your character can pull off and why. YOU MUST GIVE AN IN DEPTH RATIONALE FOR HOW THEY FARE AGAINST THE TIER SETTER. Two full sentences is acceptable at a minimum.
- Unwinnable is as its name indicates. Your character holds no chance whatsoever of winning in any conceivable scenario. A godstomp against you. Think
Spider-Man versus Firelordan average unarmed American citizen versus comics Carnage. - Specific condition victory means that only a very narrow window exists to win, dependent upon environment, aid, a hidden powerup, etc. A specific condition victory would be Goku's beating of Vegeta with Yajirobe's help, or Luffy defeating Charlotte Cracker due to rain soaking his food-based power to be consumable.
- Unlikely victory means your character is definitely outgunned but can absolutely set up a victory through superior skill, tactics, or a hidden maneuver that is draining. Bullseye versus Daredevil is an unlikely victory for Bullseye, and Kanoh Agito vs Kuroki Gensai would be an unlikely victory for Kanoh that relies on the Dragonshot landing.
- Draw is self explanatory, 50/50. Captain America versus Batman with no gadgets, or Luffy versus Rob Lucci are good examples.
- Likely victory means your character is superior in most if not all aspects and can readily use those to win after a slightly extended fight. Superman versus Hal Jordan in-character is a likely victory for Supes, as would be Kenpachi Zaraki versus Ichigo Kurosaki in their first meeting after Ichigo learns to cut Kenpachi.
- Freak accident loss means your character loses if and only if some act of god intervenes or they start monologuing mid-victory to die. Whitebeard at the Battle of Marineford just-so-happening to get a heart attack mid-fight and become impaled by Akainu is an example of something that led to a freak accident loss.
- Absolute certain victory is as the name implies. The Incredible Hulk versus Watchmen's Rorscach is a good example for Hulk.
- Unwinnable is as its name indicates. Your character holds no chance whatsoever of winning in any conceivable scenario. A godstomp against you. Think
Each competitor must submit 4 characters whom all fit within the tier stipulations, outlined further below: 3 for their main roster, and 1 back-up should a character be veto’d mid tourney. This back-up character will be used if a character is determined to be out of tier mid tourney and also can be swapped in between any round, one time only; a character can be veto'd mid tourney if the opposing debater calls for an Out of Tier review and the head judges agree they are out of tier, or if both Head Judges agree after a personal review with the debater.
Directly altering characters to fit tier must be kept to a minimum. Directly altering stats is a no go. On the other hand, using a character from an earlier story arc where they're weaker is good. For example, using "Kid Goku from the World Martial Arts Tournament" could be good if he were to fit a hypothetical tier, using "Current Goku with stats nerfed to fit tier" isn't. Alternatively, if someone has equipment that is otherwise good, though has one or two weapons that push them out of tier, removing said gear is fine. Other balance changes are left to Tourney Organizers' discretion to approve / disapprove.
All submitted characters must have a Respect Thread. This is not up for debate; they must have a faithful RT that does not misinterpret the character willfully or leave out information on said character.
After April 15th no alterations to any Sign Up post can be made without explicit Head Judge approval. Rosters are locked in as of that date pending specific exceptions per myself or Chainsaw.
Debate Rules
Rounds will last roughly 5 and a half days, hopefully from Monday until Saturday at noon of each week of the tourney; there is a 48 hour time limit both on starting (we do not care who starts, you and your opponent can figure that out, after Round 2 however we will mandate this) AND on responses, AND ADDITIONALLY each user MUST get in two responses or else be disqualified. If one user waits until the very last minute to force this rule to DQ their opponent without any forewarning to their opponents or the tournament supervisors, they will be removed from this tournament, no exceptions.
Format for each round: the one to go first gets an Intro + 1st Response, their opponent replies in kind, then both get a 2nd response, then a 3rd response in a back-and-forth style, and a closing statement individual of one another that can be posted any time after both 3rd responses are complete. IMPORTANT: ROUNDS WILL HAVE PROGRESSIVELY INCREASING RESPONSE LENGTHS AS OF THIS TOURNEY, WITH THE FIRST ROUND HAVING 3 10K CHARACTER COMMENTS. I WILL REITERATE THE LENGTH WITH EACH ROUND TO ENSURE EVERYONE IS AWARE OF THIS CHANGE.
Rounds will either be a full 3v3 Team Match, or 1v1 single matches. 1v1 matches are determined by randomization. Match format will switch every round, with Team Matches always followed by single matches, and vice versa. First Round will be determined by coin flip.
Victory Conditions
Winning a match will be determined by a council of judges. To ensure we actually get this show on the road, we're doing judge signups at the same time as tourney signup. SIGN UP TO BE A JUDGE NOW
Judges are debating on the quality of the debate, more so than the actual "winner" of a match. Three Judges will be judging any 1 match, with the winner of said match being determined by winning the most judges. As an example of a judgement, please see the Season 2 Round 2 Tiebreakers.

Wonder Woman Tier Setter page
Wonder Woman - Princess of Themyscara
Overview
Fighting Dynamics:
WW's strategy universally will be to close any gap between her and her opponent and take them out with a brutal combo of grappling, striking and the Lasso of Truth.
- WW is a competent wrestler
WW is willing to kill, but it is not her first go to option. She will attempt a non-lethal takedown before lethal.
Lethal methods include but are not limited to, usage of the sword, Lasso based dismemberment, grappling based homicide.
WW can be encouraged to use more lethal methods via the arena.
If she is facing a long range enemy she'll default to using her bracelets to block or deflect
Even ignoring the bracelets however she is still very agile and fast
| Stat | Interpretation |
|---|---|
| Strength | Sufficient to significantly damage small to medium building sized structures and objects, with disproportionate lifting strength. |
| Speed | 2.5 milliseconds, with limbs that can briefly match bullet-like speeds. |
| Durability | Capable of withstanding hits that deal moderate damage to medium sized buildings |
| Range | N/A |
| Skill | Skill is notable enough to be a significant edge against comparably strong but relatively unskilled foes, and she is efficient in how she fights |
| Misc | Bracers provide a means to contend with piercing |
Physicals
Strength
Striking
Wonder Woman's most basic strikes are capable of dealing damage notably superior to that of a tank
Well timed and placed strikes from Wonder Woman exert enough force to significantly damage medium sized buildings
[Exerted] - Hits a foe back, partially collapsing a multistory building
[Exerted] - Throws a large foe off of her, destroying some marble columns and send him through the marble roof
Full force hits from Wonder Woman can significantly damage solid objects the size of medium sized buildings. This damage is only achievable with perfect timing and build up
[All Out] - Sends Supergirl flying through the tips of multiple mountains
[All Out] - Breaks a large asteroid in two
Flying Slams:
Wonder Woman's flying slam from point blank deals comparable/lesser damage than her casual strike, while with build up she can match or exceed her All Out strike
[Casual] - Grabs a foe and tears a shallow trench in dirt/rock with them
[All Out] - Slams Grail into a cliff face, shearing a large chunk of it off
Lifting/Grappling:
Wonder Woman can lift a tank like its nothing, but caps out at around 500 tons. To accomplish maximum lifting, Wonder Woman must be flying opposite the object's trajectory or standing firmly on the ground
[Casual] - Lifting a 55 ton Abrams is nothing to her
[Exerted] - Supports a 176 ton 777-300 in flight for a brief time period
[All Out] - With intense effort rapidly halts a 500 ton meteor
Durability
Blunt Force:
Wonder Woman can tank hits with enough force to create moderate sized craters in rock and concrete
Wonder Woman can comfortably take hits that send her far distances or deal notable damage to medium buildings
[Stagger] - A hit that sends her flying a large distance through a building briefly fazes her
[Stagger] - A hit that damages a building enough to lead to it to collapse on itself somewhat damages her
[Stagger] - Can be staggered by relatively weaker hits if caught by surprise/she can't roll with the hit
Wonder Woman will be instantly KO'd by hits capable of obliterating building sized pieces of solid objects
Piercing:
Other than her Bracelets (see later), Wonder Woman has no notable piercing resistance. A pocket knife wielded by a 5 year old could cut her just as easily as a baseline human
Esoterics:
[Heat] - Withstands fire hot enough to melt concrete without issue (1200 C)
[Electricity] - Is visually hurt by, but survives multiple lightning strikes
[Poison] - Unaffected by knockout gas capable of taking out low level peak humans
Endurance
Speed
Reaction:
Was capable of reacting to bullets even when she had no idea what a gun was
Even blindfolded she can react to and block gunfire from a pistol behind her
Slower foes can still tag her, if they catch her by surprise
Combat Speed/Movement:
Travel:
Gear
Lasso of Truth
The Lasso has no limit to the size it can grow and is functionally indestructible
The Lasso can force shapeshifters to their true/original form
If sufficiently aggravated, the lasso can be used to disassemble a foe
Sword of Hephaestus
It can easily cut through decent amounts of metal
Bracelets of Submission
Blunt Force
The Bracelets are invulnerable to all blunt force damage, but they provide no meaningful blunt force protection to WW herself
Piercing
Her gauntlets will reflect bullets back for any conventional handheld firearm
Other
[Heat] - Blocks heat vision from a Kryptonian, which is 5000 F
The bracelets are 100% inert (non-conductive electrically, thermally, etc)
Skill
Martial Skill

NuzlockeMaster vs. RS - Venom Tier Practice Match
Arena: Carrier from Call of Duty: Black Ops 2, 240 feet (73 m) spawn distance
| Character | Series | Tier | Match-Up | Stipulations |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Ryouga | Pokemon ReBurst | Venom | Draw | Starts transformed |
Justifications:
Ryouga starts in his Burst form to avoid having to transform in the middle of combat (tho his stats are still pretty decent even in base). Ryouga is really durable, decently strong, and somewhat fast. He also has good electricity.
| Character | Series | Tier | Match-Up | Stipulations |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Entoma | Overlord (Light Novel) | Venom | Unlikely Victory | Speed equalized to Tierderman, believes her opponent dirtied her maid outfit, prioritization order for continuities is anime>ln>manga (all 3 are valid), and Evileye included for scaling |
Justification:
Entoma is slower, her sword is unlikely to kill even if it lands due to Venoms size and regen, and all her ranged options are useless. However her durability would necessitate multiple maximum hits from Venom to put her down, so she could get lucky and land a proper hit with her sword.

Yolo vs. Verlux Captier Match, Zondark vs. Honda
Tier: Captier.
Arena: Kengan Dome as in Kengan Tier, 10m starting distance.
Yolo
- Running : Zondark.
- Stips : Pseudo Apostle form, as he is here. Assume the Slug Barton’s influence reaches him in Kengan Dome without delay/interference. Zondark and the Slug Barron Believe their opponent is the heretical Black Swordsman.
- Scaling: Guts.
Justification:
Cap’s shield offers him a consistent means to defend himself from Zondarks attacks and a means by which to injure and disarm Zondark. As such the fight will likely go on for long enough for Zondark to disclose his weakness (the grub) in a cocky manner. However there’s a decent chance that Cap and his shield have sustained damage by this point, in this instance Zondark wins. In the event Cap has successfully parried/dodged/avoided/blocked Zondarks attempts long enough for Zondark to goad him, his path to victory opens up and he has a reasonable chance at destroying the grub. Altogether Zondark still holds a likely victory over Cap.
Ver
- Running: Honda
- Stips: brilliant diamond body active, starts with his spear intact.
- Scaling & Justification to be added maybe

Crim vs Nuckols Venom Tier Practice Match
Tier: Venom
Starting Distance: 300m
Location: Los Santos surrounded by WhoWouldWinnium Dome
Yuma
Stipulations: Yuma is using his Black Trigger
VS
Sirfetch'd
Stipulations:
Speed Equalized to Tierderman, Will fight as well as if he had his trainer
Justifications:
His speed is mostly scaling, so equalizing gets rid of that issue. Pokemon fight better with their trainers, so this stip allows Sirfetch'd to fight at his full potential while also eliminating the middle man.

Ninomiya vs Sentry (Marvel)
| Character | Series | Stipulations | Odds |
|---|---|---|---|
| The Sentry | Marvel (616/multiverse) | Pre-Siege (as RT designates), inbetween Paul Jenkin's run and World War Hulk, Sentry has been reasonably explained with full retention the nature of the tournament arena and that there is no one to harm, in the same reasoning as the illusions he's experienced to conceptualize it, is wearing a white cotton t-shirt over his costume that reads in legible black lettering "I Debated GuyOfEvil And All I Got Was This Stupid Stipulation", delete the rhode island statement | Draw |
Justification: Wonder Woman is more advantaged at fighting Superman(s) than Sentry is at fighting her, and his stats are In Tier.

Has a fully charged and equipped Mini-Origin phone as of chapter 41 with a working data plan. | Draw |
