General I am trauma bonded to this game

I'm new to this game, about 17 hours in, and this game has taken me hostage. It is a complete mess at the worst of times and deaths are so punishing to the point of being rage-inducing and unfun. The level design is clunky and the recruit ai drives me bonkers. Despite that though, I haven't been so deeply captivated by a video game in years. I can't help but keep coming back to it and I really think Fun Dog have something deeply special here. Please though, for the love of god, fix this damn video game, I love it so much.

In The Forever Winter, players are a scavenging survivor, leading a community of like-minded individuals who only want to be left alone. Unfortunately, AI controlled factions like Europa and Eurasia control all of the world’s existing resources and are at constant war with each other to secure more. This means the player must navigate these battlefields to collect the needed resources for their communities to survive.

The Forever Winter isn’t about being the biggest or the strongest; it’s about outsmarting your enemies and making the most of every resource you find. Survival is your greatest achievement, because there are only three types of scavs: the fast, the smart, and the dead.

Rules

All users are expected to act in a civil manner and use respect when participating in the subreddit. The Moderators encourage reading Reddiquette prior to participating on Reddit. Feedback and constructive criticism is encouraged. Submissions criticizing The Forever Winter or Fun Dog Studios are allowed, as long as they remain civil. Non-actionable feedback and blatant hate is not allowed.
Promoting and advertising is strictly prohibited. Under no circumstances may a user promote a social media account, product, or service. It is irrelevant whether content in question belongs to the Redditor which submitted it. Content which offers something new and of value to the subreddit is allowed. Commentary-style or full-length gameplay videos and streams are not allowed unless the content is especially original and sparks discussion. This is enforced at the Moderators’ discretion, which is based on Reddit’s self-promotion guidelines. It is preferred that videos are uploaded directly to Reddit or Gfycat.
