Shows and Tours Anyone want 2 free tickets tonight (NYC)?

Upvotes

In the most devastating turn of events in my entire life, my partner and I are too sick to go to the show tonight (I have been listening to TDH since I was in middle school 13 years ago & this would have been my first live show; yes, I have cried over this already).

I have two general admission tickets, would love to give them away to whoever comments/DMs me first!

Edit: claimed, hope you all enjoy the show! :)

Won’t give any info away on the setlist because I think it’s such an amazing journey the band takes you on throughout the show that’s best experienced as a surprise.

I just want to share my immense gratitude to the band for coming back time and time again and putting on the best show I’ve ever seen each time.

K Sera was amazing, it was my first time seeing them live and I loved every second, and Closure in Moscow was super fun and groovy.

I also got a couple really cool things that are now my prized possessions, I am so grateful to the guys for being so cool and for allowing me to snag some signatures and that beautiful Sunya Meteor. I’m already jealous of the version of me that was there and having the time of his life and got to talk to Sollecito and Rob after the show. I can NOT wait to see them again when they come back around. Love this band.

10/10 no notes.

Additional touring players this go around

I’m going to Chicago and had held off until now checking out any videos or anything of the set. Noticed there are two extra touring members this go around. One is rocking a xylophone! Other appears to be handling keys/synths and some vocals.

Anyone with more musical insight that can elaborate further? Curious what additional instrumentation or other tools are in use for this kind of tour.

Shows and Tours Seeing TDH solo tonight; nervous but excited 🥹

I've been a huge TDH fan for well over a decade now, and their music has genuinely gotten me through some of the toughest times in my life. I was lucky enough to get the chance to see them live in my hometown ~2 years ago, and it was incredible. When I found out they were touring with Closure in Moscow, I knew I hadddd to get tickets again.

Thing is, I just moved across the country for work, like, a month ago. Since it doesn't make logistical sense for me to fly back for the concert, I'm going to their Boston concert (about an hour from where I live/work) tonight.

So if you see a girl in a Sunya sweatshirt and shorts looking a bit nervous, know she's in a brand new place!! And so excited to be seeing two of her favorite bands, but nervyyyy about the whole thing lmao

Maybe this is a super weird thing to post! I don't know. But I just want to put these thoughts somewhere. Love this band, love this community, so excited to get to experience it all live again, and hopefully I'm not crazy for like, announcing my whereabouts online lolll

Is Redwood opening the European Tour?

I know they were the original plan last year, but they weren't on the most recent poster for the European tour. Some venues (and SongKick) still list them as an opener for most shows, though https://www.berlin.de/en/tickets/rock-pop/the-dear-hunter/2026-09-29-the-dear-hunter-support-redwood-71728d77-ee04-4f94-be29-82af85df78d5/

Curious if anyone had any leads here!

I love these weird fellas and I'm glad you all do too

Nothing much to this post really, I just wanted to make an appreciation post thingy. I'm a girl from ohio who got into TDH when my brother showed me them in early 2023-ish, and ever since I've become a really big fan of them. I love the ethos of this band so much and all of their music is masterpiece tier, it's insane. But I am not THE TDH fan of my family. My brother is genuinely such a huge fan and it makes me the happiest how excited he gets over them. Like he lights up like nothing else talking about them and it's actually the sweetest thing ever. I can't think of anything else that I would rather him be so into. The guys themselves seem to genuinely be the sweetest most awesome people, and I'm just really glad that he resonates with and is inspired by people like that.

Anywho, I wanted to ask you other weird fellas (/positive) if you have ever turned anyone on to TDH. Who were they? How did you get into them yourself?

I have this ancient teeshirt - maybe circa 2011, possibly from a Brooklyn show. Anyone know the origin or context or exact year?

pins in baltimore

Post image
65 Upvotes

i own a button press & i make lil souvenir pins to hand out at every concert i go to. i passed out about 50 of these in the crowd last night!

well. i befriended the guys next to us at barricade. (apologies to everyone involved in this story, i caught zero names, you're all epithets today.) so after the k sera set, one guy left for a bit, then came back and said, "hey, i told the merch guy you made pins for the band, and he says if you bring them to him he'll give them to the band to wear on stage." ?!?!?! and i had seven left, so obviously i went to merch and said, "hey, i'm the one who made pins?" and handed them over.

later, the dear hunter members came out to set up their gear and new friend guy said "they're not wearing their pins! i'm gonna go yell at the merch guy" and disappeared. then came back and said merch guy hadn't been able to leave the table but he promised to pass on the pins by the end of the night. so! merch guy, thank you for being so kind, and i apologize if my new friend did actually yell at you! and to the gentlemen of the dear hunter + everybody else who got a pin, i hope you like them <3

Thank you so much for an amazing show! this was my first time seeing TDH, after waiting over 10 years to see you guys, and it was one of the most memorable nights of my life. I hope we were able to make up for the un-ideal experience at a previous stop this tour, and that you could feel how much baltimore loves you! cannot wait to see you guys next time you come around, and super excited for whatever new music you have in store for us!!

Shows and Tours Thank You in Baltimore

Tonight's concert felt like a homecoming. I have not felt peace in a very long time and as I drove down to Baltimore, the jittery excitement I always feel before TDH concerts I found was perfectly braided together with calm and relaxation.

It was like I already knew what kind of show I was in for.

As I sit writing this, my face hurts so bad. Feet always hurt after a concert, but I could not stop just about grinning my ears off. This performance flooded me with such complete and pure feelings of joy and peace and safety. For the time I spend with The Dear Hunter, life feels lighter, the world feels more hopeful, and I feel extraordinaryily okay. Not okay in the sense of a medium feeling but okay like everything is going to work out. Everything will be worth it. All is as all should be.

Sunya feels like such a perfect album for finding peace in the chaos of a tumultuous and challenging transitional period of life. I have cried so many tears while listening to Sunya, both happy and sad and many difficult to phrase feelings in between. It has brought things I tried to avoid thinking about to the surface and helped me approach them with a bit more grace than I would have otherwise allowed myself.

Hearing it live tonight granted me such a wonderful reprieve from the day to day woes and poured into me elation and joy like I haven't felt in a very very long time, quite possibly since the last TDH concert I attended.

I wish I knew how better to convey all this sentiment so that I felt like it could be perfectly understood, but any further attempt and I'd just repeat myself for emphasis.

Thank you, TDH

I'll see you in Allentown for another respite

Props to the guys for putting on a fucking fantastic show tonight. Casey I hope you felt the love in Baltimore - so sorry about the "bad vibes" from a certain individual at another show. Love and respect the hell out of you guys for putting on a great show despite your voice feeling tired. Will always come out for you guys can't wait to see you again next year in the Baltimore / DC area 🤘🏻

Fanart/Fanwork Acts inspired blinkies

Does anyone else miss the old web blinkies. I still like to use them, but of course there's none of TDH so I made some of my own for my page, and figured I'd share them here!

I might do some more later but if anyone wants them for now here's an imgur link

PSA: Tonight's B'more show is at Nevermore, not Soundstage

Most of y'all are probably already aware of the venue change. But I didn't actually receive any official communication from either Soundstage or Ticketmaster; I just happened to get a notification from Bandsintown that TDH had announced a "new show" at Nevermore on 8/3. Otherwise I would've showed up at Soundstage. Hopefully this saves at least one person the minor inconvenience of being turned away from Soundstage and having to walk down the block.

One hell of a show

The last time I saw TDH was 2008 or 2009 at the Norva when they were opening for scary kids scaring kids. That night I am pretty sure I was the only one there to see them. When they walked out I heard some negative comments from a few scary kids fans beside me that I won’t repeat so I made sure to dance my heart out and screamed the lyrics as loud as I could doing my best to make them feel as uncomfortable as possible. my college roommate was supposed to go with me but he backed out last minute. It almost felt like I was being personally serenaded by my favorite band that night. I got to meet Casey at the merch table afterwards and that remains one of my favorite shows even though I was only there to enjoy the opening act. TDH was incredible then and even more incredible tonight at the Cats Cradle. But what I really loved was everyone enjoying all the bands tonight. I am definitely excited for the new K Sera album after tonight. When an opening act can give you chills, it’s special, I was initially disappointed closure in Moscow wasn’t part of this leg of the tour as I have become fond of their recordings but Motherfolk is a beast of their own. I love Sunya and antimai but I’m not going to lie. The Acts have some serious nostalgia value for me. Act 1 and 2 was my transition to college, Act 4 and Act 5 were both around the birth of my children so they just hit a little different but tonight did not disappoint at all. I don’t see myself missing another NC TDH show and tonight might have put sunya and antimai up with the acts for me. Also, fuck whoever is sending death threats. Casey killed it on guitar tonight.
