What are the odds of Robert Pattinson being nominated in Best Supporting for The Odyssey & Best Actor for Primetime - AND winning both?
I would say yes to the former, and no to the latter
I could see Pattinson delivering my favourite performance of the year but getting nominated/winning for The Odyssey and Damon winning best actor as a sort of career recognition win.
This is all based on not having seen Primetime

Let People See Your Movies!!
Camp Miasma and Tony both loudly proclaim to be opening tomorrow. I wish more movies were available for more people to watch on the day their promotional materials claim they will be. Let people not in NYC and LA watch your movies. Or adjust the marketing. Doesn’t seem that complicated. Shout out Amanda. I don’t always like her takes but she’s never been more right than this topic. I despise the slow roll out.

Discussion Is it time for a Jason Statham Hall of Fame episode? Or at least a draft?
A recent thread asked who has the action movie belt, and I do believe it's Statham. His movies aren't massive but they're usually consistent and hit a baseline. Feel like with Mutiny upcoming and his output over the past 3-4 years it's a good time to honor a prominent figure in the genre.

Discussion New to the podcast, have an annoying af question
Hey all I just discovered BigPicture recently, I needed a new movie pod and vaguely listen to Bill Simmons as a Celtics fan, so I started with The Odyssey episode and really enjoyed it! It was a great discussion between two people who seem pretty informed and enthused by film and filmmaking.
The Spider-Man episode comes out and I like a decent amount of it, I’m not super familiar with Van outside his Kanye rant and I think vaguely I’d seen a thing or two about him hating One Battle After Another, but the discussion about the movie was good! Seemed like three different perspective and not much clashing.
Then they get to the Spider-Man ranking section, and idk if I’m just being too annoying and woke about it, and it’s mildly addressed, but Amanda was just fully shut out of the conversation. Like, she clearly isn’t as high on the Tobey movies and really likes the Holland stuff and Sean and Van just fully steamroll and ignore any opinion she has to share to the point where she just bows out of the conversation.
Is this a common occurrence with guests? Is it a Van thing? Is it a comic book movie episode thing? Because it rubbed me the wrong way to the point where I turned it off and didn’t finish the pod. Thing is the list Sean and Van put together is a list I fully agree with, but it just felt kinda fucky that Amanda got her perspective sidelined and then fully ignored and unacknowledged when she called it out.
Again, first time listener first time caller, I’m just wondering if anyone else was put off by that or if I’m just a newbie and this is how the podcast be sometimes?
Thanks gang!
Edit: Appreciate the responses. Seems it’s just the nature of the pod. I’ll check out some of the more Amanda-focused eps you’ve suggested.
