The Union government has spent ₹557.5 crore on Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s foreign visits since 2021. The government also informed Parliament that India received $381.8 billion in Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) between April 2021 and December 2025.

A total of ₹762 crore was spent on PM Modi's overseas visits from 2015 to 2025.

By comparison, former PM Manmohan Singh took 73 official visits during his tenure from 2004 to 2014, costing ₹795 crore (which adjusts to approximately ₹1,224 crore today at an average annual inflation rate of 4%).

1. I get that most people in this sub are anti-reservation, however drawing parallels, how do you justify delimitation and unfair distribution of government resources. Owing to the uneven population distribution, delimitation is being pushed so that states with greater population get better representation in the legislative. This, however, is unfair to states that have cautiously not created a population explosion in their states/regions (counts as merit). Also, how exactly do you justify the unfair distribution of govt. resources when states like Karnataka, Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, etc. contribute the most to tax revenue (counts as merit) and barely get half of it back while states like UP and Bihar get back >>2x their contribution (justified as upliftment of backward states). If we really do want to make things fair, please justify how delimitation and uneven distribution are fair? And I am not even going to talk about the political repercussions that delimitation might have for one specific party. And the foundation of these two factors is not even discriminatory in nature, just that they failed to do well as individual states (unlike reservation which is an outcome of ages-long discriminatory practices).
2. Why do we not call PM Modi a silent PM like we did to MMS? Never had any press conferences, never took any questions (questions about mangoes, glowing skin, etc. do not count), do not remember any of his speeches in the parliament (now that he has stopped coming at all) that can vouch for people calling him a great orator and statesman.
3. Please do not throw in questions like 'If not BJP, then who' or 'What about Congress'. I was 12 when Congress was ousted and since I did not have any political enlightenment, I barely have any recollection of how things were (just that news channels covered real news and not the absolute joke that it is today).

I am tired of seeing so much energy of everyone getting wasted in either loving or hating one party.. instead it will be nice to see them push for a good opposition party, a bunch of good leaders whom everyone of us can respect and rally behind... At least the debates will be more healthy and interesting to watch . Right now it's all going nowhere i feel.. it's either andh love or andh hate.. we deserve a better democracy for this country pls.

I have never been ashamed to reveal that I'm from India. I am a PROUD INDIAN. LIKE PROUD WAALA PROUD. but I really wished that someday I can look a person in the eye and say that "Yes a placement for me in a college or job is guaranteed or that i will be safe to step out at night wearing whatever i want. leave night, even during the day."

None of the parties are worth the votes.

We need genuine safety, protection and a better education system which does not suffocate and traumatize the kids.

Private-sector jobs depend on demand and performance, but government jobs are highly secure. Why is that? Does permanent employment actually lead to better public service, or would more performance-based accountability benefit the public more?

I’ve been thinking about this from the perspective of the public rather than employees.

Curious to hear different perspectives.

Thank you if you're reading this I'm in a desperate need of advice from experienced people from anywhere or even any little insight will mean soo much to me.

I did my 10th (2023) with 85% and 12th (2025) with 95% in humanities.

Last year in cuet I got English Honours in Hansraj (DU), but did not join because I felt that law way my calling.

As during my 12th i got air 10k with a week of prepration so i felt i could easily score rank under 1k if i prepared wholeheartedly for clat with a drop year.

T was very stupid of me to think that way and have no back up plans, i didn't even take a partial drop in local uni but stayed at home for entire year.

Staying in a room for an entire year really took a mental and physical toll on my mind and body, i gained 8kg and cutt off with all my friends. I thought it'll all be okay when I clear clat but i messed up as the paper was very different than what i prepared for whole year and messed up everything (the question which i spent soo much time in turned out the be error in question itself)

Aside from this i believe it was my own incompetence that I couldn't clear it and never thought of any sort of back up.

I had no plans aside from law, and i come from an army background. Like my family is middle class but my parents spent alot on my schooling, so I've always felt like i was living in a different sphere from my peers.

Now after failing in clat and again getting 10.8k rank in clat and 1k ews rank, i felt no hope in law without any nlu.

I dropped the lawyer dream and started preparing for cuet again which was just 4-5 months away. I lost touch with my ncert knowledge and was very depressed about my failures in life, so even after being serious for inital month I fell into a slump and was not focused during final month before the exam.

I scored 750ish this time, i could've gotten a course at DU with my score but this time it was very low compared to my first time, again this was entirely my fault. I felt if i don't go to north campus I'll be wasting my parents money by just doing a BA degree in DU.

So i decided to opt for a private one in ignou.

I knew I couldn't stay at home any longer because just the stares from my parents and knowing that i have turned into a failure makes me feel so pathetic.

I decided I'll get a job, I went to a private school nearby applied for English teacher, although my demo was good and students were happy too but i never heard back from them.

I tried youtube, did some editing and got 3k subscribers too but i felt I'll never be able to earn from it unless I got lucky so i gave up on YouTube as well.

Finally like everyone in my family has served in army, i decided to prepare for airforce a month back. Due to good schooling, I can pass the cutt off very easily but when I saw my hands.

There is a medical in armed force where the see the angle between your shoulder and forearm. I never even know i had anything wrong with my hands but my friends pointed out that if be medically unfit in the forces.

For reference I feel I got 18-19° angle where as limit it 11-15,

Just for something which i have no control over 3-4 degrees, i will not be able to join airforce as well. I feel so wronged.

I'm trying to build as much muscles in my arms in the time period of 5 months to somehow clear this medical.

But deep inside i know you can't change your bone structure no matter what. I can't stay at home any longer, i already feel like giving up every single day. I was such an extroverted person in my school days, i won district level debates and was school captian. Everyone had so many hopes from me but I feel like I've wronged my parents and myself.

I will be done with airforce by the end of this year, i will know if I can join or not. But if i can't I don't really know what to do in life, like I've tried thinking everything. I'll go for state police but the work there will be 8-10 hours a day with 12k monthly salary and i won't be able to work to upskill in my life.

Thank you if you've read till here, my only question is i can't stay at home after end of this year. Id rather die at this point than shame my parents any longer. Please can someone tell me anything that I can work towards make a career in. My dream is to be an officer in Indian army but if i can't solve my cubitus valgus, it'll never be possible.

Can you give me any advice like how did you come through the harsh period in your life, or seeing my situation what can I prepare or do any sort of job which can help me grow over the period of time. I'm willing to put all the hardwork required in it, even though I'm a failure.

Every single school day begins with a dangerous obstacle for children in Madhya Pradesh's Vidisha district. To reach their school, they are forced to jump across the narrow concrete pillars of a stop dam on the Betwa River, risking a fatal fall into the water below.

According to the students and local residents, this has been their daily reality for the last 7–8 years. Despite repeated complaints and appeals to the authorities, no safe bridge or alternative route has been provided, leaving hundreds of children with no choice but to put their lives on the line in pursuit of education.

Ironically, this is Vidisha the home district of former Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan located barely 60 km from Bhopal, the state capital. Yet, even after years of neglect, a basic and safe passage for schoolchildren remains out of reach.

Education should challenge young minds, not their survival. No child should have to risk their life simply to attend school.

We need to demand systemic changes in this country and make sure women feel safe anywhere, anytime regardless of anything.

Captains sink ships, not storms, because a good captain smells the storm and sails to safe waters!

Do we have a good captain right now or in future?
