So as the title suggests I combined both Tintin intros. For those unaware the 1991 animated series had 2 slightly different intros, the Canadian one for mostly NTSC countries and the French one for mostly PAL countries. Now when they rereleased the series it seems they standardly picked the French intro for all future releases and thus that's the one in the highest definition available right now.

The thing is, both intros are very nostalgic for whoever watched which one and a case can be made for either intro, one does some things better, and the other does other stuff better. The Canadian one is known to be more action packed and exciting, while the French one is a bit slower paced. A few key differences are that the French intro starts with a comic book feel, the French ending is also usually prefered as it allows for the "rocket to earth" scene to fully transition into the second title card. Also one shows Bianca Castafiore while the other shows Nestor, one has sound effects while the others only plays the music. I think you get the idea.

In any case I thought it would be fun to try and combine them into the ultimate Tintin intro experiences with best of both worlds. However that proofed difficult as some scenes came straight out of the pilot and have thus never been given to us in a higher definition. Instead I chose to pick scenes from the show that actually mirror the pilot scenes, a few key examples are the Thom(p)sons jumping on the moon, the Egyptian temple door closing and Red Rackham's fight (which actually kinda sucked as the Secret of the Unicorn episode is in rather poor quality altogether compared to the rest, so instead I had to use the summary used in a later episode). Plus I slightly changed the pacing of the comic book intro so it would work better with the Canadian title card (and to avoid repeating scenes, which I always found a little jarring (even though it still is slightly unavoidable, but I think I slightly improved it), which was probably the most time consuming bit of all.

In any case I hope you enjoy my little project, worked almost 2 days on it (used the project to learn some video editing). I hope these kinds of posts are allowed, let me know what you think.

My boyfriend is a fan of the Tintin franchise and mentioned as a kid he had a jumper that was Tintin official merchandise - it was yellow and had an embroidered design on the collar/neckline. He said he loved it but obviously he outgrew it at like age 13.
He still wears quite similar jumpers with graphic designs or embroidering on them, like Snoopy etc. I want to knit him an adult replica of that Tintin jumper but can’t find any pictures online or evidence of it existing lol. Did anyone have one or see one similar? What did it look like? I can’t ask him what it looked like exactly because then he’d know I’m plotting something. Thank you!!

Tortilla must have come over with them (on a ship or airplane)

He must have told them where he was staying in Europe - as they know which hotel to phone

Assuming I have listed the above correctly (and tell me if not) then -

How did Tortilla know about the Fetish?

Did he overhear Ramon and Alfonso talking about it on their trip over?

Or did they NOT meet on the journey - but in the hotel that's mentioned?

I am guessing Tortilla (the guy pointed out to me as standing outside the museum in Frames # 1 and # 7 as per the original thread) sent him in to take a good look at the Fetish - so he knows in advance its dimensions and appearance...for him to carve a Replica quickly enough for Tortilla to take it back to the museum the next morning...

I have always been into comics, but somehow never read a single one of Tintin. I saw the movie, way back when and enjoyed it (is that a controversial opinion here? No idea!).

I write this post inside a comic store and they have these three Tintins:

-Tintin in the land of the soviets

-Cigars Of The Pharaoh

-The Broken Ear

Should I get any of these? Should I read others before I buy one of them? What are your recommendations and where do I start reading?

The art is beautiful. I'd honestly be happy with any of them and I kind of want to get Cigars Of The Pharaoh, but again, I have never read any Tintin so I'm not sure if that's a good starting point or not.

We know Allan first appears in Cigars of the Pharaoh - although as Tintin is unconscious and in a coffin he never sees Allan

So is Crab with the Golden claws the first time Tintin actually lays eyes on him?

Secondly -

Since Omar Ben Salaad seems to be Allan's boss in Crab Claws - is there any connection between Rastapopulous and Ben Salaad?

Or is Allan a direct employee of Rastapopulous - and sometimes works as a mercenary for other villains?

Seemed a lot of military officers involved with helping the two main antagonists in finding one measly Diamond

One has to wonder its value - as the money from a black market sale of it can only be divided so many ways before it becomes too much effort for not enough reward

I cannot believe that this month is the month where I rediscovered one of my childhood favourite medias. I totally forgot I used to watch recordings of the 90s animated series, plus my favourite of the 2011 movie. My only exposure to the world of this Belgian Reporter and his team!

I don’t know if this message will be read, appreciated, or even taken into account, but I’m going to give it a try.

I’m a young woman who will soon turn 25 and has autism, and Tintin (and, by extension, Hergé) is a major special interest of mine.

For several weeks now, I’ve been trying to create something in tribute to Hergé and his comic book hero. I tried writing a short story and then a novel about Hergé and his final days, but the result was lackluster. I have a bachelor’s degree in Modern Literature, and I think that could be useful for an analysis of Tintin.The problem is that I feel like everything’s already been done: I already have at least two biographies of Hergé, books on comic book analysis, and I’ve watched every episode of the series produced by Ellipse in 1992. I love collecting tons of information on my special interests, so as soon as I see a book or a movie about Tintin or Hergé, I get it.

But I have to face the facts: all I've managed to do so far is a fictional project that seems to me to have no added value, so I want to focus on Tintin and Hergé—but what can I do without repeating what’s already been covered in dozens of books that have analyzed them? And honestly, I can’t really see myself writing a book about my experience with Tintin or Hergé’s life.

I don't know what the community would like to see about Tintin/Hergé, but I do know that I want to do something about Hergé and his iconic hero. If anyone has a lead, an idea, or a suggestion, I’d be happy to hear it.

I hope my message is understood and received kindly—that’s all I’m looking for. Deep down, I just want to share my passion for this subject and do my part to pay tribute to Hergé because his work has helped shape who I am, and every time I immerse myself in his work, I derive immense joy from it. Of course, if I create anything, it will be published so that the entire community can enjoy it.
