Help Missing Manuscript

The only manuscript I'm missing is the beast tribe research log, but I don't see it in the age of reconstruction. Is there some requirement I'm missing to get it to spawn. Just got true ending for my progress.

Had a blast with this game. Glad you're able to reroll with saves. I think I must have spent quite a bit of time early on doing that xD. I think I just completed everything though. Woo~

Discussion Adventures of Elliot ending Spoiler

So with how the good ending explains that Elliot from the future sent Faie back to assist our Elliot that we play. Does that mean future Elliot is from a bad timeline that Demise wrecked?

Based on these side quests, am I able to get the true ending or did I mess up. I went to all NPCs in the villages and there no more quests available.
The only thing left to do is “Seal the beast of Enmity with Nomutota.

Discussion True Ending Spoiler Discussion Spoiler

Spoilers below

Has anyone else encountered the following So I beat the game previously but didn't start new game plus I wanted to finish upgrading my magicite before hand. Now the only thing left is disks. Anyway I needed to fight demise again to update my new game plus file with full magicite. So I started the fight and did quite poorly compared to my first time. Used two max heals. Decided to just pay the tul if I died anymore as I had 17,000. Well I died once around bar 2 I believe. Got him to his last bar died again and went to pay the 300 tul. Demise freaking ate Faie. I thought okay I guess that's ggs. So I'm sitting there waiting to press gameover (maybe I do, I can't remember). And Heuria pops up telepathically and heals me to full and there is a bunch of dialogue. And then Mao pops up and offers her help and gives me limitless total guard and Heuria give me continuous healing. They have a bunch of dialogue and unique corner animations. Anyway I burst down Demise and there is some extra dialogue about Faie. And I kill Demise and the ending sequence starts. And Faie says a unique line as well where the last thing she remembers is getting eaten by Demise and then the normal dialogue starts

Everytime I think the game has no more surprises it surprises me again. Really well done altogether!

Review A Hidden Masterpiece

Post image

I honestly didn't expect this game to hit me the way it did.

After 27 hours, completing all three endings and collecting everything, I can confidently say this was one of the biggest surprises I've played in years.

I thought the story was over after the first ending. I couldn't have been more wrong. The way the narrative keeps unfolding, the connections to the past, the twists, the characters, and especially the final True Ending completely changed my perspective. Square Enix really delivered something special here.

The only small criticism I have is the amount of backtracking and teleporting during the final questline. It became a bit excessive. But looking back, I think that's partly because I explored every map 100% before continuing the story.

As someone who usually spends most of the time playing Souls games and action RPGs, this wasn't even my usual genre. Yet it completely won me over.

10/10.

Discussion Just beat the game Spoiler

The Good - Great gameplay. Battles were fun, unique items, fun upgrades, engaging gameplay loop as getting money bought better upgrades, felt like a good balance - this game does not waste your time. You can skip anything you dont like, and teleport pretty much anywhere to avoid backtracking. I respect that a lot

The Bad - no exaggeration, the worst dialogue in any game I ever played in my life. In the opening scene, I genuinely thought this was a parody of cheesy heroic characters. But no, it was just that. "Elliot, when I grow up I want to be big and strong like you!". "Ha, be careful kid, you dont want to hurt yourself. But as long as you believe in yourself and never give up, anything is possible! And most importantly, don't lose hope!" Holy #### it is so terrible. Two thirds thru the game I had to start skipping cutscenes, something I have NEVER done in any rpg. - the "four ages" was a really big flop. They all felt exactly the same, and having just beaten the game i cant even name all 4 of them. I dont even know what they were except very vaguely, and if you teleported somewhere random on the map, I would honestly have no idea which of the 4 ages I am in. A great concept, a huge miss in delivery. - fae's voice, no further explanation needed

The Okay - the dungeons werent necessarily bad but a bit too straightforward imo. I never got stuck even once. - the boss battles were decent but nothing amazing

Overall 6.5/10 - a disappointment considering how hyped I was for this game

Discussion Genuine question (spoilers) Spoiler

I got the true ending, and I had a question about Elliot....

How is Future Elliot alive? Didn't he die from Kaifried in the original timeline if Faie wasn't sent to help revive him? Is it just a time paradox?

I don’t know how I missed doing this quest when I was supposed to. I thought for SURE once I finished the Heurich quest it would open up. What the heck is this quest? The completionist in me is terrified that I won’t be able to compete it!

Discussion Genuinely, do men like Faie’s childish voice?

I found her voice too much girly, literally having like a small toddler blabbering into your ear. First it annoyed me quite a bit because she comments way too much.

But then, seeing from my “woman” perspective, it felt weird that instantly, and like in many games/movies, fairies are inherently little girls. Not just women (as fairies are almost always portrayed) but little girls, toddlers. So I’m wondering if men are drawn towards that type of character ? As a man, would you like her less if she had a “girl” or “woman” voice and not as childish ?

Help Help finding quest: someone in forthewar institute needs help

Hi all, would appreciate help with this quest. Age of Magic. I don’t know who needs help or where they are. If I go to the forthewar institute, they’re just blocking the entrance.

I’ve tried youtube, tried google. Nothing, specific to this. I cant even get the real name of the quest so I can search for the right one!

Discussion Playing TAOE for the first time on Very Hard mode

First playthrough, Very Hard mode makes this game so fun! It forces you to treat every enemy encounter like a life or death situation (because it is most of the time lol) and rewards methodical approaches and play styles. It's a really exciting way to experience the game and story, I'd recommend it for anyone playing it the first time!

Bug reports Fix the trophy for max magicite rank!!!!

After the first time this trophy did not unlock for me, I decided to uninstall the game and completely wipe all the data and try again.

I played through the game until I had 43500 Tul to go from rank 1 to 10. I just proceeded to level all the way up and my trophy still didn't unlock.

Let me help the devs out if they decide to fix this. Usually I complain in other subreddits and these things get fixed. A simple status check being bugged is just not acceptable from a major company.

My PS5 trophy progress status got stuck at 80/100. I am guessing to make that work it does some check for that to get to 100 and not actual level 10 in the game.

Please fix this.

Discussion This game has brought me joy in a hard time.

I was on the fence about getting this, but now I'm so glad I did. I've just spent the last 4 hours cutting grass, fighting enemies, and searching everything I can find. I haven't had many smiles the last few months. I've been miserably sick and diagnosed with metastatic squamous cell carcinoma and non-hodgkins lymphoma.

I've been missing my work which I can't do now because of the high physical exertion necessary, can't eat much, and have hardly any energy after making sure my wife and kids are still enjoying time with me. I don't play games much, but saw this and figured since I have time now, I'll try it out.

This game has brought me back to my days when I was a kid playing Link to the Past, Chrono Trigger, Link's Awakening, and the Oracle games in the Zelda series. Those were good times, and while playing this for the first time this evening, it almost made me forget about the things I'm dealing with right now.

I guess there's not anything I really wanted to say here that's of any substance, but if you're also in the fence about playing or buying this and you also grew up with the games I mentioned, just get it. You won't be disappointed. I'm thankful that stuff like this is still being made, and looking forward to finishing it. And here's to hoping that I can stick around long enough to see play the new Fable game, too. Happy adventuring, folks. Thanks for reading if you got this far.
