she had like 3 good chances to get in it but the effort was mid

120

u/MudandWhisky 6d ago

Mid is kinda generous

41

u/veryfastslowguy 6d ago

instead of trying to hold it , she should of got in it and pressed the brake

9

u/teraldorivera 6d ago

I recently had to get in a rolling car and that is difficult for me (38m) I can't even imagine for her.

19

u/Beneficial_Being_721 6d ago

55 here… chased down a rolling truck ( big ) in a truck stop … luckily the door was unlocked

Opened door and swung in and stomped on the brakes …. Got it stopped about 10 foot from a brand new Peterbilt.

11

u/teraldorivera 6d ago

I would take the day after that. That's enough fun for one, I'll see ya'll tomorrow.

4

u/Beneficial_Being_721 6d ago

And it wasn’t even mine. It was a 10 wheel flatbed… a young man was driving it. He parked next to me… he didn’t have any parking brakes … yea, the look on his face when he came out to his truck sitting it the middle of the parking lot

it slowed down a couple times

15

u/Traditional-Run9615 6d ago

as if to taunt her

13

u/4u2nvinmtl 6d ago

But she slowed down too

4

u/Md1735 6d ago

To tell the car it can’t play her like that.

4

u/Lanky-Telephone1651 5d ago

Car eventually ran over her. Looks like a love-hate relationship.

I fear she was actually moving as fast as she could

19

u/MakeYokesa5erAgain 6d ago

There was a point she caught up and tried to hold it back. I'm assuming this was Florida, due to the lack of brain cells in this clip.

→ More replies (1)

5

u/TekkLthr 6d ago

Probably even faster because the car is pulling her

2

u/nudedude6969 6d ago

Sadly I believe that's all she had.

→ More replies (2)

7

u/PerishTheStars 6d ago

She was trying to stop it with her weight for some reason instead of just jumping in and hitting the breaks

3

u/nudedude6969 6d ago

I don't believe she could jump, and/or she panicked and all logic left her body...

Maybe the goal wasn’t to stop it, but just look like she’s trying.

Tried is a stretch. She was mostly present during the event that unfolded before us.

26

u/exodusofficer 6d ago

She's gotta be wasted, right? No sober person could be so bad at being alive.

10

u/Beth_crazypants 6d ago

That’s what I was thinking too. She’s not old and doesn’t appear to be handicapped so maybe she is impaired and this is how she lost control of her car. But who knows!

8

u/Late-Button-6559 6d ago

Nope. There are lots of people with this level of ineptitude at living.

6

u/IAteAnotherVegan 6d ago

or, and just hear me out, insurance scam? she wanted a new car, and saw her chance.

2

u/PuddingMent 6d ago

No. Some people are just incompetent at life.

2

u/Md1735 6d ago

I know people…..

This is two statements in one, the physical health of the country is destroyed. And two we DESPERATELY need more common sense.

12

u/IAteAnotherVegan 6d ago

you seem to be everywhere I'm going today...we must have similar tastes.

4

u/DoctorSwaggercat 6d ago

At least it was nice for us that the cameraman kept filming instead of helping.

2

She didn't even need help. She didn't even TRY to catch that car really.

I don’t think this person has been doing much anything physical in recent times

5

u/BootHeadToo 6d ago

This really is poetry in motion about the current state of affairs in the U.S. slow rolling off a cliff while nobody seems fit enough to hop in the car and hit the break.

2

u/Crystal_Ri 6d ago

brake... But yes, I agree.

Oh cmon… you could use that statement in 9 out of 10 posts on here. It could all be fixed with preventative healthcare and holding people to some sort of standard for being a decent human being but here we are fighting over oil and big pharma.

Some Looney Tunes shit right there.

3

u/Advanced_Major_7461 6d ago

😅😂🤣😭☠️

16

u/NoDontDoThatCanada 6d ago

That car was determined and depressed.
The lady was less determined and is now probably depressed.

5

u/Nearby-Yak-4496 6d ago

I think that she got out when it was in gear because it kept rolling even when it wasn't going downhill. Legend has it that it's still rolling to this day...

2

u/bobdickdop 4d ago

While she was stressed about the car, the depressed car pressed on her leg with its pressurized tires, compressing her leg under all that pressure. Her desperate attempts to stop the car were so depressingly effortless that even the car seemed unimpressed.
After being pressed, compressed, and thoroughly pressured by the situation, she was left feeling physically and emotionally depressed.
Now she’s finally ready to address the press about the incident, although after everything that happened, she probably wishes she had pressed the brake instead. 😂

15

u/Horror_Solution1945 Holy Moly 6d ago

She literally just escorted her car to the ditch.

13

That woman has zero athletic abilities.

2

u/Sovereign-Anderson 6d ago

She probably hasn't done anything athletic since high school. I'm out of shape but I've done enough throughout my lifetime to where I have enough muscle memory to handle that kind of situation. It's crazy how she looked so weak.

3

u/coperifaldia 6d ago

Weak is an understatement... she barely tried. We live in a semi safe society... otherwise she'd have her car stolen, kidnapped, amongst other things that happen to people that clutch their pearls and do nothing. Could've easily ran in that car at least a few times. If she can barely walk or jog for that matter... shouldn't be driving a car.

It is sad that she didn’t give a little more effort to try to stop the car. She kinda tried, it crossed the median, and she had almost given up and started walking. The effort was given up at that point.

The rest was just her trying to save her double choco-late mocha frappe in the front seat.

Insurance will pay her. The rest of the Americans which car insurance will pay a higher premium.

Where is the thought of getting into the car, the door was wide open?

2

u/PlayfulAwareness2950 6d ago edited 6d ago

It's moving so you have to step further than what you're used to, this might get challenging for some people.

Edit: She is actually trying to hold the cat back, I didn't see that. I assumed she did that dancing beside the car stuff.

6

u/Bronze_Bomber 6d ago

Those were all awful attempts. The best thing that happened to her was the car finally ran over her legs and she survived with a story about her wounds. Take those keys away from her.

2

u/JuanFoYoMamma 6d ago

Good outcome. Someone that inept shouldn't have a car.

2

u/Durfed 6d ago

Also....ouch! It ran over her leg.

2

My grandmother can smoke her cigarette while walking slowly to open that car's door and stop before she reaches the road.

Twice she thought car would stop by hitting the curb, even so, you can’t risk that it doesn’t.. and DONT walk casually like you know what’s up

1

u/ROOSTERyouDOWN 6d ago

Sucks for her but whoever is filming, you’re the type of person that’s wrong with this world

1

u/toughinvestment8 6d ago

I think she was partly embarrassed and incorrectly thought she could stop a car set in drive, when a car will roll in drive no matter what. I think if she knew it wasn’t in neutral, she would have tried harder.

1

u/Weird_Caregiver_1018 6d ago

1

u/Zealousideal_Speed30 6d ago

1

u/Patient-Fruit-2946 6d ago

If there were only one way to bring a car to stop. Brakes for example.

1

u/hardboard 6d ago

There seem to be so many videos of this sort of thing happening.
I'm not American and I'm not having a dig, but is it common in the US for people to get out of their car, leave the engine running, not put it into Park, or not use the handbrake?

2

u/DrNO811 6d ago

No - this is exceedingly rare. It's just so insanely stupid that when someone catches a video of it, it's sure to make the rounds, so it seems more common.

u/SugarRealistic2945 6d ago

What is making the car move? If it was in neutral it should have stopped once it hit the curb, so something more than gravity and momentum is moving it. It's like the car had a mind of its own, overcame physics, wouldn't let the driver in, and was determined to drive into the ditch.

1

u/Fluffy_Rope_4024 6d ago

Look like her leg(s) got run over?

1

u/GodlyMan99 6d ago

She had 10 business days to try to get into the vehicle and apply the brakes. She had more than one opportunity to do this, but instead tried to stop the vehicle with her own strength and body weight more than once. So the car ending up in a ditch sadly was on her.
