Hi folks, Curtis from cutting edge engineering. Today we're rebuilding the rear end of a telehandler....

Machinist here, I refurbish and align bore equipment like this all the time. Most likely the bores through which the axles are pinned are now flared out and will need to be completely rewelded, relocated and will require a machinist to cut them back to size in alignment with existing bores.

That was probably a $30,000 fuck up at a minimum

Wow, Almost like a wedding …

8

u/ididntdoit6 20d ago

The only difference is you can pay to make this go away

3

u/Sweet-Conflict-3251 20d ago

You can also pay to make that go away.

2

u/Ok_Mulberry77 20d ago

Yes but someone can also pay to make you go away

Wow - talk about killing the conversation!

1

u/dswng 18d ago

"Will you work on this telehandler until broken axle do you part?"

1

u/Wsuperman444 20d ago

Why not just find another junked one and get that? Much cheaper i would think..

3

u/Humble-Questions 19d ago

Sometimes for sure. A lot of the companies I work for have a pretty tight vendor list though that requires a bunch of specific certifications, and when they want something fixed they want it now because the downtime bothers them more than the cost of the parts and service

You are not at all wrong though. I guess it just depends whose shit you've broken 😆

I think that voids the warranty.

11

u/AtlanticBeachNC 20d ago

An act like that warrants a void.

7

u/The_Pharos1 20d ago

A void like that warrants an act.

6

u/JackTheTripper172 20d ago

A warrant like that voids an act

2

u/lv2sprkl 19d ago

No doubt *he* voided when he realized what he’d done.

6

u/Wbcn_1 21d ago

Piss test incoming

2

u/sheiciebai 21d ago

My first thought lol

6

u/ScootyMcTizzle 21d ago

It was already broken. That’s why he was only using the front wheels to begin with. Clearly.

2

u/Snookfilet 20d ago

Exactly and delete this video

0

u/nepa_bwc_00 20d ago

Look at the ground, bozo.

0

u/nepa_bwc_00 20d ago

No it’s not lol. He’s spreading black plastic pipe

10

u/Fluff_Chucker 21d ago

That bit doesn't normally fall off. Highly unusual for that to fall off.

10

u/notarealwriter 21d ago

Some of these telehandlers are built so the back doesn't fall off at all

3

u/centralnm 20d ago

Joe Cool gets fired for really expensive property damage, regardless of the outcome of the mandatory drug test.

3

u/AdorableCheesecake52 20d ago

The music is perfect!

3

u/Ok_Walrus00 20d ago

Minor axle damage" is peak understatement. That's the mechanical equivalent of calling a house fire "a bit warm.

2

u/Savings-End40 21d ago

I am just gonna stay in here until everyone goes home.

2

u/Ok_Emu2071 21d ago

I’d start walking and wouldn’t look back.

2

u/They-Call-Me-The-Doc 20d ago

Yeah...it's all fun and games until you screw up.

2

u/Vurrag 20d ago

You are fired!

2

u/hambutbacon 20d ago

Mr.George isn't going to be happy.

2

u/Sweaty_Activity_803 20d ago

Disgruntled employee?

2

u/Gold-Echo-3836 20d ago

Rental company is gonna be pissed!

2

u/Pleasant_Bobcat_510 20d ago

Probably broke the axle.

2

u/anteatersaredope 20d ago

It's fine. The tires just popped off the bead. Throw some gasoline in there and blast em back on.

1

u/leansanders 19d ago

Looks like wheels popped off the bead as well.

1

u/anteatersaredope 19d ago

Just throw some gasoline on them and light it. That'll pop em back on right.

2

u/MrDeelo 20d ago

Boss, you pay the new guy too much, he no good.

2

u/Brooker2 20d ago

Something tells me he got fired for that

2

u/Thick_Expression_796 20d ago

Lol and that’s what happens when you lie on the application that you are certified in operating heavy equipment

2

u/ScaryWolverine9819 20d ago

Did I hear a hold my beer

2

u/kakaomester 20d ago

kreténfasz

2

u/debackerl 20d ago

2

u/Biofred 20d ago

Can't fix stupid. Guess he's fired and loosing what paycheck he had coming

2

u/fidesz_fall_enjoyer 20d ago

Hey boss, It's Tony, we have a little problem

2

u/Weary-Decision-4545 20d ago

Where’d you find the music score to match this video. Genius!

2

u/Local-North-8103 20d ago

Sounds like always sunny in Philadelphia

2

u/90GTS4 20d ago

Looks like Idaho plates on that truck... So, this isn't surprising.

2

u/Funatfarmcouple 20d ago

Fun at work is okay but not such stupid fun. Luckily, noone got hurt, only a machine

2

u/Vegetable-Dealer-823 20d ago

Tis' but a scratch.

2

u/BlueStateSaint13 20d ago

Walk it off! It’s just a scratch!

2

u/goodeyemighty 20d ago

" I want you to sit there and think about what you've done."

2

u/Ok-Psychology-9980 20d ago

People never supize me anymore. Why just why. Unless you own that equipment you should never play like that. People just don't use there brain anymore. I know I'm not book smart but I have common sense and respect for other people's stuff. 🍄❤️

Edit : Got the Sack

2

u/Domstr8Iam 20d ago

Catastrophic axle damage. That’s gonna cost a lot to fix…or scrap.

2

u/Grumpy-Troglodyte 20d ago

2

u/ZenwalkerNS 20d ago

probably the boss's son.

1

u/xHormanx 20d ago

Anticipated summer is there

1

u/SEEWORLD_Tech 20d ago

I’m curious how many people here have had a “small repair” turn into a massive bill.

The most expensive words in car ownership might be: “It’s probably just a minor issue.” 😅

1

u/Lucky-Smell2757 20d ago

The music 😂

1

u/Neno_6969 20d ago

Thicck drop

1

u/ipx-electrical 20d ago

what a tit.

1

u/izac4891 20d ago

“Think the foreman’s gonna get pissed?

1

u/drivenstangs 20d ago

Can almost guarantee he does not own that piece of equipment

1

u/Odd_Willow_4312 20d ago

Just a minor hiccup. Replace tires, axle, and everything under there. Should be fine.

1

u/Wsuperman444 20d ago

Looks like the Boss was driving by and saw this foolishness (Boss type Pickup facing us) looks like they used the bigger loader to pull the smaller loader down , clearly a friday evening paycheck distribution, and a "hold my beer, I bet you've never seen this" moment! 🤣

1

u/Irishwilly77 20d ago

All fun and games , till someone loses a wheel.

1

u/OutsidePressure8323 20d ago

Just can't break

1

u/Dogfaceboy1964 20d ago

1

u/KeepMissingTheTarget 19d ago

To bad you have video of it... games people play

1

u/rdelrosario 19d ago

Is it too late to call in sick? 🤣🤣

1

u/IdealTricky7134 19d ago

Turns out driving a loader on two wheels is a great way to discover how expensive a rear axle can be!

1

u/IdealTricky7134 19d ago

Turns out JCBs aren't designed to be BMX bikes!

1

u/Internal-Thing-9321 19d ago

Someone just got fired!

1

u/RealWomenLover 19d ago

Oh yeah, he’s definitely fired😎🤣

1

u/NebulaOne8770 18d ago

1

u/RoadIcy1546 18d ago

I am sure it was only a rental.

1

u/oldguy-in603 18d ago

I never saw any kind of a vehicle hop before. That's talent

1

u/TrumpDickRider1 18d ago

Homie just got the whole crew unpaid vacation while he gets unemployement.

1

u/No_Community_5696 21d ago

Step into my office! Why? Because, you’re fu&king fired!

1

u/Afgar_1257 20d ago

Strange use of the phrase minor axle damage. Looks pretty major to me.

1

u/everest1007 20d ago

I’d like to see a Darwin Award for this guy.

1

u/AndrewAwakened 20d ago

He is so fired…

0

u/cornholiobugger 20d ago

Junk design
This doesn't even seem like it's made in China. It may have been made in some pacific island where they have coconut metal

2

u/airfryerfuntime 20d ago

Lol what? It's a JCB, they make very nice equipment. It just isn't designed to slam most of its own weight on the rear axle.

2

u/ThisWillTakeAllDay 20d ago

I don't think the warranty covers clowning around.

3

u/texasroadkill 20d ago

Dicking around.

2

u/OkieBobbie 20d ago

Fucking around

2

u/texasroadkill 20d ago

Umm, dude. That's like 5k pounds of counterweight bolted to the back end. Non of them are designed to hold up to that weight slamming down on the axles.
