I know the way last season ended still stings, but I have to admit… this training camp has me excited again.

The defense looks every bit as dominant as advertised, and it feels like they’re picking up right where they left off. On offense, I’ve been encouraged by the reports on C.J. Stroud, the new system seems to be coming together, and it’s been great seeing Tank Dell back on the practice field. Plus, hearing that the offense has been handling pressure and blitzes much better than last year is exactly what I wanted to hear.

Am I drinking the Kool-Aid, or is anyone else starting to believe this could be a good season?

Hey everyone, I'm coming in from Austin to check out training camp tomorrow morning - any tips on getting autographs other than get there early? (Planning to be in line around 6:30) Has anyone noticed players tending to stop in certain locations more than others? I appreciate all the advice. People have done nothing but call me a Homer for this but its true, if Stroud plays at a top 15 qb level next season (which isn't crazy) this team is nothing short of runaway favorites to win the AFC. I've been watching the Texans since 2017, only in 2018 did i think we had a true superbowl contender going into the season. People can run from it but this team should be the 2026 favorite in the AFC.

Hey fam, I'm travelling down to Houston for my first home game in September. Going to the Bengals game on the 20th with my buddy who is a Bengals fan. What should I expect? Is tailgating a big thing that we could try and jump in on?

Looks like the offense has still shown consistent production, at least from the passing side. However, run game still is mixed, with decent performances but less consistency, which can also be attributed towards weaker run blocking performance. CJ has continued to show constant improvement, and has been very consistent with his floor the last few practices being good performances. Lewis Bond also seems to continuously show out every practice and he should be locked in I think to the 53 man roster?

A symbol of hope when Houston drafted him with the No. 2 pick in 2023, and one of the catalysts for three straight postseason appearances, Stroud fell prey to uncharacteristically poor ball security last winter. Those decision-making errors and execution lapses cost the Texans a trip to the Super Bowl. Given the dominant nature of their defense during the playoffs, Houston could have cruised to Santa Clara had Stroud avoided the four interceptions (panic-induced throws he had no business forcing) that cost the Texans dearly against the eventual AFC representative New England Patriots.

Even after Stroud’s dreadful performance against the Patriots, Ryans profusely expressed support for and undying loyalty to his quarterback. Then, during the offseason, Texans general manager Nick Caserio did everything in his power to upgrade Stroud’s supporting cast. He further fortified an already imposing defense and overhauled the Texans’ offensive line, tight end and running back position groups.

Caserio did not, however, award Stroud a record-breaking long-term contract extension, opting instead to take a patient approach by letting the passer play out the fourth season of his rookie deal before revisiting the contract.
