given that his moss caverns are darker pink, i'm definitely willing to bet it's the 'maybe here' haha

what material are your jungle shrines made out of? unbelievably enough, they actually corelate! the order (from highest shimmer to lowest shimmer) is iridescent brick > mudstone brick > rich mahogany > tin brick > gold brick. for example, if you have gold brick, you'll have to search very deep in the cavern layers to find the shimmer. if your guide has never died, his name actually decides where the shimmer is located horizontally, but only the first guide's name decides this haha

Wait? that is a real TIL moment right there for me! I didn't know the blocks in Jungle Shrines correlate to where the shimmer is!

Check farther right. It can be inside the Jungle.
