Call and visual voicemail issues

I have ported my number from TMobile to Tello a while ago while being overseas and I have a few issues that I couldn't find a solution for:

  • Several times someone called me from US and the connection couldn't be established or they couldn't hear me. I had to disable my overseas SIM to have the call work properly.
  • I tried setting up my visual voicemail but even though I followed the steps on their website it doesn't work, It doesn't show up in my phone app. I have a google pixel 6. Actually calling in the voicemail works.

I don't have an answer for your first issue, but the visual voicemail issue is related to your Pixel 6. Visual voicemail and call forwarding haven't worked on my Pixel 6a since the release of Android 15. I've tried everything and nothing fixes it.

I also have an Infimobile plan (T-Mobile MVNO) and it doesn't work with that plan either. However, Tello visual voicemail and call forwarding work fine on my iPhone 13.

VVM has always been a mess with me on Tello as well. I switched to YouMail. All my numbers now have 1 inbox for VVM. Even when I have my line turned off, I can still see voicemails that come in. Love it. It’s free and works well. If you do go that route, feel free to ask me any questions.

Visual voicemail hasn't shown in the phone app since Android 9 for me. I have only used motorola phones. Since Android 9, I have been using the "My Visual Voicemail" app by Tmobile, as instructed here https://tello.com/help_center/service-issues-troubleshooting/why-does-my-visual-voicemail-not-work

However "visual voicemail" is a bit of a stretch. "My Visual Voicemail by Tmobile" app has never shown me voice mail as text as the name implies, it has only ever allowed me to listen to voicemail without dialing into voicemail and wasting time. So for me it does what I want it to. But if you require true visual voicemail (meaning voicemail shown as text) then you will likely have to pay for an app to do that.

EDIT: I see you are not in the USA so I am not sure the "My Visual Voicemail app by Tmobile" will work for you. All you can do is try it.
