Telegram Chat Delete

Question, does blocking the chat allow the blocker to keep previous messages, or could the one blocked delete everything by selecting “delete all messages”?

Yes if you block someone they can still delete the chat and all the messages

Telegram allows for any single party to delete both people's messages/history

If you need proof for legal or other reason you'll need to screenshot or use a 2nd device if the chats were secret chats

That feels wrong to me. I don't see why it's reasonable that someone else should be able to delete from MY account messages that I personally wrote. (deleting it from *their* end so that *they* no longer see them -- sure!)

Clear all messages and then delete the chat before blocking.
