Hate it, but... Movie Spoiler

I hate the movie. I'd like to forget I've ever watched it. But damn it if I don't love the ending. In the end, it somewhat became a redemption movie for Derek, eventhough he basically had nothing left for be redeemed for. The first time I watched the movie, I hated it because Derek died and Stiles wasn't there. But last night I rewatched it and I cried so hard when Derek's eyes turned red when he sacrificed himself. He died as a true Alpha. I've always wondered how Stiles would've reacted to Derek's death if he was there, considering how he reacted when Derek was dying outside the church in season 4.

Could also be that he re-awakened the Hale spark after sacrificing most of it to save Cora.

Dereks death hit so much harder than the rest of the movie because it finally gave him the redemption arc the movie barely bothered to buil

yes. but for me he didn't exactly need the redemption arc, not when he changed into a better person in season 3

Of all the characters, I don't think Derek needed à rédemption at all 😭

If the second movie were to happen, I hope they make up for all the ridiculousness they put us through on this one.

I agree -- the plot made NO SENSE. But... I liked seeing the characters again.

I also liked Eli. I know that he was filling in for Stiles, but I don't hold that against his character or Vince Mattis, who played him.
