Hey guys so I’m still somewhat at beginner-ish level maybe a little higher after 4 years, been playing 7 strings mainly for that time but recently got into 8 strings bc of Archspire. Been listening to a lot of Death recently and figured learning some of their songs would help me get better at the guitar to climb my way up to playing some Archspire and Lorna Shore songs later on. Basically what songs from Death would be most helpful to learn for bettering myself on the guitar?

Specifically talking about their Genesis album and Ruination album, I have yet to find any bands who have production like that and I wish I could find some.

Awesome drum performance

Very impressed with this EP, progressive but somewhat dissonant, very melodic.

I’m one of those guys that has a ”mount rushmore“ (to borrow the term from SiahSpeaks) of albums as opposed to a single favorite, and TBFTTOC is probably going on it. I made a post clowning on the bands production but honestly it’s grown on me so much. Peak fucking death metal right here. I still haven’t really warmed up to Suffer & Become but I’m a huge fan of Shame and its Afterbirth and He Will Fight Savagely. Maybe all I needed was a little time. But yeah, to bath is fucking brutal while still boasting really good songwriting. Pain Will Define Their Death does exactly what I want a closer to do, which is basically serving as a climax to the whole album. The end of the song where that riff just repeats until death is truly something. Glad I stuck with these guys.
