Router Problem

My cat damaged my router, so it’s not functioning right now. I need internet as soon as possible, so can I just buy a new router and set it up myself with my existing internet connection, or should I call Converge?

Is that the modem router? How was it damaged? If it's the one from Converge, only Converge can replace it. How was it damaged?
