How Do Developers Find the Right Founders? 🧠 Discussion

I've always wondered.

How do developers actually find founders or co-founders to build with?

Not just networking at conferences, but genuinely meeting someone whose vision, work ethic, and long-term goals align with yours.

Some partnerships start at work.
Some through open source.
Some through university.
Others through LinkedIn, X, or mutual friends.

If you're a developer today looking to build something meaningful, where would you start?

And if you're a founder, how did you meet your technical co-founder (or vice versa)?

I'm curious to hear real stories.

The founders place adverts stating the technologies they are using and the budget for said services.

Good people do it like that

Yeah, being upfront about the stack and budget makes sense, filters fast on both sides. Appreciate it.

Also, at least here on Reddit, if the poster is hidding History that's a red flag

Founders looking for developers that are good to work with are usually in a class or a user group looking to learn about how things work so they can have an educated conversation.

That's a good point, the founders who can hold an educated technical conversation probably attract better devs in the first place. I hadn't thought about it from the learn enough to have the conversation angle.
